kokorunna:The shipping company SHOULD be able to give you an option of paying the CTN in the UK or when it gets to Naija. I always opted to pay when it get to Naija. I don't think its mandatory and i have never even been asked of it in the recent times i have shipped from the US. If your shipping company won't ship without the CTN, look for another company. stormm:[b]The truth to the matter is that it takes time to look for the perfect ride. It will come down to the experience of the person looking for the car and the amount of time that is devoted in searching for the car. If money is no issue (which in most cases it is) then you can just buy any available vehicle you find that meets your need and ship it. Or the other choice is attend auctions to search for the car and be able to save some money. First thing that you need to be aware is the market price of the car you are trying to buy, so that you can be able to take advantage of it whether you find it from a private seller, dealer or auction. Sometimes you can get better price from outside rather than auction. Auction doesn't always have the absolute best price. Either way you get the car, what you cannot escape is the shipping. It takes between 17-30 days for vehicle to get to Naija after it leaves the US depending on where its shipped from. On top of that most shipping line will require that the vehicle is delivered a week before sailing date to be able to verify all the documents of the car. Just like when you fly, you must be checked in at the airport at a particular time otherwise you won't make the flight. So even in the best case scenario, 3 weeks is impossible. Even if all you have to do is buy and ship cos there is always no guarantee that you will get the next available sailing date/space on the ship. Also, as someone already mentioned, if the buyer has restrictions on the car wanted (like a particular color or specs) it narrows down the options/choices when looking for the car and results in a longer period of finding the car. As we are all human, most people will like to have the car they paid for very quickly and telling them that it will take 6 weeks will not be pleasant for them to hear, hence shady dealers lie.
