Aqva:

Let her be. She knows what she wants. never kill a persons dream. Never!

On second thought, this isn't even a question of standards. What makes us think a pharmaceutical firm in Lekki is better than that in Otta? In fact, she won't even be getting the best from any pharmaceutical/food processing firm in VI or Lekki. For world class or near world class IT experience, she needs to be in Agbara, Ilupeju etc industrial estates.
Its funny how we all just assumed (passively though) that the fact that VI and Lekki are elite areas means they must have highly sophisticated industries...SMH

Godman_n: No comment. There is still a lot missing in this story.

Why would a guy who could raise 2mm drop out of school Was it purely to pursue his investment ambition

I have serious doubtssss

There was nothing in that post that suggested he could 'raise' 2M dollars. Do you know what it means to approach ONE HUNDRED banks/investors/business men for a loan? Do you know how much sweat, blood and money would have gone into that? If he could have just 'raised' the money why did it take him 7yrs (1998-2005) to get started? And does that raggedy looking man (no offense)resemble one born with a silver spoon to you? Let's just say you didn't read the post.

Sad story. I think you should forever be grateful to God. This is perhaps one of the ways ritualists get body parts. But don't forget you asked for it. Greed, desiring to live beyond your means at whatever cost.

That is why i have always said that there are some post that are not right for a Yoruba people to man.imagine this minister exposing his yoruba inferiory complex internationally. Can u imagine??An Hausa man will not even try said such a cowardly statement.

Bigbrother cor Brotherbigs ni. That is how the same yoruba lady was used on an advert to promote South African tourism drive on DSTV saying that South Afica is truly the Giant of Africa. It high time this people started hiding their cowardly and inferior atitude. How there he say south african are my bigbrother, does he even know the meaning of that statement?

This is very interesting. I didn't imagine what lenghts some pple will go just to be tribalistic. Any right thinking Nigerian knows that name isn't Yoruba but you would rather employ any means to foster hate and bias than google the guy's name to know from where exactly he hails. And don't forget, people wit the most chronic sort of inferiority complex are the ones always attacking, they'll through all their lives make use of every avenue to claim the superiority they will never have, they're confrontational, aggressive ...I hope you know where that puts you.

As much as I hate to comment on threads that have been turned into tribalistic battle fields, I think instead of getting angry and all worked up by the posts MODs hide and those they don't u can hit the 'report' button under any comment and ask that it should be hidden if u think it offensive.

Naija guys in America need to be commended, but most of the ones in the UK are 'yahoozed' up, all they care about is driving nice cars, women, popping champs in the club, and wearing LV. I know a few are upright, but majority of them don't really gobeyond BSc.

I agree with u... but the not going beyond BSc part. It isn't a sign of unseriousness or failure. I think that's a very erroneous mentality Nigerians (particularly the ones in the US) have. You don't need a PhD to be outstanding in life. A survey recently showed that in the US, Nigerians are the most educated(up to PhD level, followed by Asians) but most of them end up as teachers, merely regurgitating stuff they've read. They aren't entrepreneurs, and more often than not can't and don't apply their knowledge for tangible advancement of society, a PhD isn't what we need to achieve that. So, I think we, home and abroad need a change of mind-set.

You know, over the past few months, I've been in and out of some relationship tussles; with women that I really wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Amazingly, over 90% of the things I figured were the problem with these women(this is not to say I didn't have faults too) perfectly match with the things this article pin-point. I will however like to add that not all women with the stated characteristics don't get married. A good number of them do...just that the marriages suck all the way.
Adverts / How You Can Send 3 SMSs for Less Than 5 Naira From Your Phone by kunlejazz(m): 9:51am On Aug 20, 2012
In choosing a Bulk SMS or Mass Messaging platform (whichever you call it), you have to go for the best if you need to achieve your aim. You don’t want to invite people to your birthday party coming up on Saturday and some of them gets your message on Sunday or even Monday. That’s really sad but it happens a lot in Nigeria. Another challenge we face with bulk SMS providers is that you are normally forced to buy what you don’t need. This is not fair, I must say. Assuming that you just want to send a meeting reminder to your fellow church members and they are just 50 in number, you can’t get a Bulk SMS platform that let’s you buy just 50 units and send. They normally ask you to buy at least 1000 units. Are you going to eat the other 950 units?

Ubox2 Mass Messaging platform solves all these problems.

Ubox2 is a mass messaging platform that provides quality and very affordable bulk sms services. Ubox2 is one of the many products of Lightup Software Nigeria Limited, a software solutions outfit registered as a limited liability company in Nigeria and is aimed at meeting the needs of bulk sms users at all levels.

Also, ubox2 has a mobile version which is compatible with Nokia phones and generally, java phones. This enable users to not only gain access to their accounts, and also import contacts from their mobile device and send bulk SMS from it. This can be downloaded from the website www.ubox2.com.

They offer one of the most competitive rates in the industry . At an amazing N1.50K per sms credit, you pay the same rate regardless what quantity you buy; from 1 to 1,000,000,000 SMS units! Yeah, your eyes are not deceiving you, you can actually buy just ONE unit and you pay the same rate. I have tried several SMS platforms and they remain one of the best so far.

I just love the fact that you can buy any quantity at such a ridiculously low price and it’s even cheaper to send using this platform than using your network to send SMS. Yes, you can send up to 3 messages from just N5 but you only get just one from your network provider. You can check out more about Ubox2 by visiting their website, www.ubox2.com. Thanks

I have gotten One training opportunity(free), and 2 jobs from nairaland. Am currently enjoying one of the jobs. Its a part time online job, and its thread is somewhere around the site. Prior to that I worked as a volunteer TESTER for ReinventRebuild group(ngpoll.com), which was also advertised here.
I still come here everyday to look for job opportunities.
We need to be careful for many of these jobs are scams.

Peace & Blessings.

Please tell me about this online job, I'll like to be a part. Thanks

http: Yah! That a nice job, I have being on it for 5 years now both for survey path line of sight and antenna installation, I tell you it's rewarding.

In Nigeria, the pay is not much same goes to contractors companies, but if you work for operator or vendor, the pay is great especially abroad.

This job can earn your like $6k every month minimum of you work for operator or major vendor as basic pay with other allowance.

Safety is the watch word, there is a saying " tie up or die"

Good one bro.

Securetek:

where is this TTC or can you please make reference to an independent contractor you know. thnaks
No offense here but I doubt if TTC can give u what u need. Apart from their high charges (last time I heard it was abt 180k for diploma in telecoms), what they teach is very archaic, majorly theoretical and irrelevant to what currently obtains on the field. I have colleagues that went thru their training and came out with nothing...and am a transmission engr with one of the telecom multinationals in d country. I will advise that u look for a subcontractor in d field u desire and work with them as trainee, even if it's without pay(like someone said earlier) or they even ask u to pay, just do it. You won't regret u did. You can send me a PM so we'd talk more. Thanks
