Where are those Nigeria haters now, fact is we shall always overcome. |
To all those Ghanaian idiots who have been abusing Nigerians and hoping for us to lose against Kenya or for Tunisia to beat Mozambique. I say you eat your words and hang your head in shame. Nigeria will forever be a great giant of Africa in spite of our problems and little Ghana will continue to look up to Nigeria. See you all in South Africa next year. UP NIGERIA. |
Just a thought, Kobojunkie and Radiant seem to share the same philosophy and ideals, could they be singing from the same hymn sheet. |
back2back, You are not doing yourself any favours by using emotive language like ' OBJ stole $ 16 Billion ' The facts do not support such loose talk. There is a world of difference between someone stealing $ 16 Billion and mis-management of power projects. |
I agree with Afam on the issue relating to attempts made by the OBJ's administration to improve power generation through IPP and other projects. It was at least the beginning of something positive in the power sector. |
Really bright prospect for our beloved country. Long live Nigeria. |
I guess BEN TV could argue it's fair and balanced journalism. |
James Ibori, the notorious Godfather to President Yar' Adua appeared yesterday evening on BEN TV in an effort to use the media to launder his image. Amongst some of the laughable statements he made were that any Nigerian living abroad who criticizes the Nigerian Government should lose Consular support from Nigerian Embassies and High Commissions, he buttressed his point by saying those who cannot have their passports renewed through such '' apparently illegal '' government action can always come back to Nigeria to sue the Government under the so-called rule of law. He also went on to promise a massive punitive civil libel actions against all those who have ever written or said anything he considers negative or false against him in the past, this planned legal action he added will commence once he is cleared by the Federal High Court in Asaba of all criminal charges. One can only assume this man has lost his marbles and is living in cloud cuckoo land. |
Fellow Nigerians, Is it just possible to STOP using that word '' Diasporian '' and start referring to Nigerians living outside the country as simply '' Nigerians Abroad ''. I'm beginning to doubt the wisdom in the continuous use of that seemingly ugly term- Diasporian. it has now assumed an almost negative connotation. |
Afam. I believe you are an intelligent and thoughtful person . I'm making this conclusion on the basis of your numerous contributions on Nairaland, but i'm a bit disappointed that you have joined this half witted debate or should i say attack on the so called Nigerian Diasporians ( or more appropriately Nigerians living abroad ) by certain posters on Nairaland. It is very unhelpful for a few Nigerians ( who live within the country ) to cast aspersions on the loyalty of those citizens who for so many reasons happen to be based abroad. I personally think it is an unwelcome development for anyone to encourage negative sentiments against their compatriots. Moreover, it is equally wrong for any Nigerian based abroad to rubbish the opinions of those living in the country because the fact is they have their feet on the ground. I happen to spend an equal amount of time inside and outside of the country so my interests lie on either side of the fence. |
tosh acer, I have read your previous post in relation to this odious post and all i can say is that as your name suggests , you are a real tosser. |
@ Poster. what is the source of your unsubstantiated story. Although i'm not a fan of President Yar' Adua, I believe this sort of inept story should not be posted on Nairaland. NL has a reputation to protect. Also the heading made reference to Sahara Reporters but there is no evidence that SR has any part to play in it. This is simply shameful. |

Are there any surveyors in the house. Your service is urgently required. |

What exactly do you mean by Lagos, do you mean Lagos metropolis or Lagos State. The difficulty lies in how to define the boundary of Lagos metropolis hence the size is arbitrary. |
I suspect now that Nollywood has decided to team up with Bollywood you'll start seeing more light skin actors and actresses to the exclusion of dark skin Nigerian actors appearing in Nollywood crap films. It's only a matter of time. |
@ Bennyboy 11 You need to visit the Nigerian High Commission and commence the process of changing your nationality from Ghanaian to Nigerian. If you are unwilling to do that, you need to get a life and leave us Nigerians alone with our problems. |
@ Poster. Do you mean '' Why Do Our Leaders Like To Relocate Their Families Abroad '' |
@ SeanT21 You must be a heartless slowpoke to suggest that illegal migrants deserve to be executed because they have travelled to a foreign land on their own volition. Don't you understand the concept of compassion and the sanctity of life, or are these alien ideas because of your limited education. I wonder how you will feel if a close relative of yours is executed in a foreign land on the basis of the person overstaying his or her visa and thereby becoming an illegal immigrant. Show some sense and intelligence to understand the issue goes beyond illegal migration. |
I don't know much about Joe Igbokwe but he has shown from his assertion that he is the type of person who should not be allowed to hold any responsible position of influence. His intellect must be very poor for him conclude that Nigeria's problems would have been solved had the British colonial masters stayed. This guy went to South Africa and he thinks the country is best thing that has happened since sliced bread. He is very parochial indeed in his thoughts, granted South Africa has better infrastructures and a bigger economy than Nigeria but he must be deluded if he thinks South Africa doesn't have it's own social-economic problems. I fear for his party if this fool can openly subscribe to the idea that the absence of whites or should i say colonials is the source of the problems we have in Nigeria. |
@Bennyboy11 I have a simple advice for you. Why don't you confine your contributions to a forum like Ceddiland.com or Ghanaland.com. You should have enough worries about the problems and difficulties facing your compatriots. Leave Nigerians alone to discuss their issues and how to solve them. |
@ asha 80. Going by the logic of your response. If Prof Jide Nzelibe is not a Nigerian because he was born in the US, then all children born in the US and elsewhere abroad to Nigerians in diaspora will be classified by you as non- Nigerians. Please give us a break and be sensible. |
I just want to share the fact that Nigerians are making great strides in all facets of human endeavour. Take the case of this young man Jide Nzelibe who has recently been appointed as a Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, the pre-eminent law school in the US. He has a very impressive CV, until his recent appointment at Harvard , he has been a Professor of Law at Northwestern University in Chicago, an assistant Professor at the University of Chicago. He graduated from Yale Law School and Princeton University. He is the kind of person we need as Nigeria's attorney general or even as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. I believe he is also involved with the Centre for Law Enforcement Education in Nigeria. www.law.northwestern.edu |
