Politics / Re: Canadian, Indian, Irish Firms Bid To Run Power Grid : Bart Nnaji by kuramo: 5:18pm On Aug 27, 2010 |
This appears to be a positive move by the Presidency, but I'm not so sure about giving an Indian company the very important responsibility of running our national grid or the successor national power transmission company. We must not forget the shambles the Indians made of our already sick Nigerian Railway Corporation. The Indians may be an Asian economic powerhouse on the ascent, but we cannot trust their expertise and reliability on such a critical part of our infrastructure at this point in time. I personally will favour the Canadian group for the simple reason that they are less likely to be corrupt as the Indians are. |

Mbulela, Point of correction, the fraudster Dimeji Bankole did NOT attend Oxford University as he claims, so he does not possess any degree from the University of Oxford. His only claim to Oxford is by geographical nuances. He happened to have enrolled ( whilst still at Reading University) and probably attended the University Officer Training Corps ( UOTC ) based at Oxford University. This UOTC is not part of the University curriculum . The Oxford UOTC is responsible for student cadets from five different Universities including Oxford Brooks University, University of Gloucestershire, University of Oxford, Reading University ( which Dimeji Bankole attended and bagged a degree in Economics ) and theRoyal Agricultural College in Cirencester. Dimeji Bankole also claims to have been attached to the Artillery Corp of the British Army, this is pure fantasy on his part. he only qualified to enroll on the UOTC because he was in full time education and was a commonwealth / british citizen. The fact is at the of the part time training , students are awarded an MTQ which is equivalent to a City and Guilds leadership award level 4 NVQ. Moreover the cadets have no obligation to join the Armed forces when they leave University. I am giving this info to expose the lies and deceit of the man who happens to be the Speaker of Our House of Reps. |

You guys should be aware that the issue of terror blacklist has been overtaken by events. Felele, You have shown yourself to be a foul mouthed, badly educated upstart who must learn to be deferential to his superiors and i must tell you that most of your comments on the Aganga issue reveal someone with the intellect of a Lagos Area Boy. You come across as thug who sees nothing wrong with making an ugly threat against a fellow NL contributor who appears to criticize your mentor Senator Obanikoro , the thing is your pugnacious attitude will not get you far. You hide behind an internet cafe PC claiming to pay your phantom employees on average over $300,000 per annum whilst chiding someone by posting that you '' didnt realise you have been wasting your time yarning with someone who is still an employee whose wildest dreams consists of earning a $500,00 salary'', such a comment only reinforces the impression that you a fantasist living in cloud cuckoo land. I will not be wasting any more of my time with you but to conclude that you are a sad case whose only claim to a rightful existence appears to be an accident of birth as a Lagos indigene. You need to get a life and think beyond your narrow mind, there is a world out there bigger than Lagos. By the way i will not give you the pleasure of letting you know whether i am a Lagos indigene or not. |

You obviously don't understand the world of International finance if you have to question the success of a Goldman Sachs Managing Director. For your information the position is not doled out based on ethnicity, religion , skin colour or state of origin for that matter. |
Politics / Re: Fears Mount Over Aganga by kuramo: 5:23pm On Mar 29, 2010 |
For anyone to attempt disparaging the success of Mr Segun Aganga by describing him as ''ONLY ONE OF 1500 MANAGING DIRECTORS AT GOLDMINE SACHS'' shows the lack of exposure of that individual. Only a narrow minded and ill educated bigot would even suggest that a well qualified technocrat like Mr Aganga who was born and bred in Lagos should represent the birthplace of his parents instead of Lagos. I am getting fed up with these so called Lagos indigenes who scrounge off the hard work of all Lagos citizens and residents whose ethnic origin may be Yoruba, Igbo , Bini or even Hausa. The time has come to stop this nonsense. |

Plots in Mpape hill district of Abuja ( Bwari Area Council ) have now become difficult to acquire due to interest from rich and powerful investors, i mean present and former politicians and political benefactors. Its proximity to Maitama is also the main factor because it is separated from Maitama only by ONEX ( Outer Northern Expressway ). So its easy to see how it will develop into the '' next big thing '' in Abuja in terms of location. If anyone can get their hands on landed property in Mpape, they should go for it as its very cheap considering its potential. |

He claimed to have seen moribund Yar' Adua on saturday as if that makes any sense at all. These numskulls have been spewing out these sort of garbage since late November 2009, they must really think we are all stupi d. I would be grateful if those in the know can give suggestions or detailed estimate on how much it will cost to erect a masonry concrete block fence / wall around the perimeter of a plot of land in Abuja. The said plot has a perimeter measuring about 150 Metres and the proposed height of the wall is 1.5 Metres. You input is appreciated. |
Properties / Re: Abuja Land Questions From A Rookie by kuramo: 7:36pm On Feb 16, 2010 |
Poster, As stated in a previous post. Land allocated by Bwari area council would not have a C of O yet as non have been issued by the Minister of the FCT. If anyone is selling you such land purported to have a C of O then you need to be careful. What the said land should have in terms of documentation are- Customary and/or Statutory Right of Occupancy, AGIS re-certification certificate and if the seller is not the original allotee of the said land, then he should have a Deed of Assignment and/or Power of Attorney to effect such land transfer. On the question of the area, the land in Kubwa is in cadastral zone F15 which has Dawaki to the east and Kasana East to the south, granted it is not within FCC but it is still part of the FCT. The seller quoted the land dimension in Kubwa as 120ft X 150ft which is 36.5 Metres X 45.7 Metre respectively, that makes the total land size to be 1,672.25 Sq Metres. When negotiating to buy land , always ask for the land size in Square Metres and NOT in Feet. Land in Nigeria especially Abuja should be measured in Metres. Moreover, no matter what land size is quoted by the seller, the only way of confirming is by employing the service of a SURCON registered Surveyor to draw up a Survey Plan. |

Dimeji Bankole is a fraud, he never matriculated nor did he graduate with a degree from the University of Oxford. If you read his resume posted on the Speakers website, he gave the impression that he has a degree in military studies from Oxford University when in fact he was only enrolled on the officer cadet training corps (OTRC) based at Oxford University. The fact is that he has a degree from Reading University which shares the same officer cadet training facility with the cadets from Oxford University and the facility happens to be based at Oxford University. If indeed he holds an ''Oxon'' qualification , he needs to tell us which Oxford College he attended otherwise he is downright fraudulent in his claim. |

Politics / House Speaker Dimeji Bankole Is An Enemy Of Progress by kuramo: 2:10pm On Feb 13, 2010 |
Jonathan: Bankole Angry With Senators | Print | E-mail Written by Taiwo Adisa, Abuja THE division between the Senate and the House of Representatives appeared to have received a further boost during the week, notwithstanding the decision of the two chambers to jointly recognise Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan as acting president Sources at a closed door session between the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the leadership of the National Assembly told the Saturday Tribune that the Speaker, Oladimeji Bankole, could not hide his anger that the Senate and its president, David Mark led the House by the nose to pass the motion on acting presidency. Bankole was said to have told the closed door meeting that the House was ready to abide by the decision of the PDP leadership to maintain the status quo in the Presidency and shun the passage of the motion on acting president. He was also said to have asked the leaders to blame Senator David Mark and the Senators for causing the House to pass the motion, against the directive of the PDP leaders. The Speaker was also said to have insisted that the house was determined to stick to the directive of the PDP that the status quo in the Villa must be maintained and that the resolution, if any should affirm the sanctity of the ruling of the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Dan Abutu, which indicated that the Vice-President can only perform the functions of the President without being named acting President. “The Speaker told the National Working Committee members of the PDP that he was leading the House of Representatives in a way that no fresh motion on acting president would emerge on the floor and that his foot soldiers in the chamber would always ensure compliance. |
