@ yoruba it's interesting to know what your area of specialisation is, are you an art / architectural historian or a practising architect ? |
Another opportunity to bleed the country of more billions of Naira, what a terrible idea. |
This guy is not only a thief but a pathetic liar. |
Is Ghana a Giant of Africa ? Let's look at the facts, In terms of the relative strength of the economies of Ghana, Nigeria,Egypt and South Africa. South Africa has the most robust economy on the African continent and Ghana has the weakest ( smallest ) amongst these four countries. The Gross Domestic Product ( GDP ) which represents the market value of all final goods and services in a given year shows that in 2008, South Africa's GDP was $ 277,188 Million ( 277.188 Billion USD ) Nigeria's GDP = $ 214,403 Million ( 214.403 Billion USD ) Egypt's GDP = $ 162,164 Million ( 162.164 Billion USD ) Ghana's GDP = $ 16,124 Million ( 16.124 Billion USD ) This clearly shows that Nigeria has the second largest economy in Africa and it terms of growth potential, one needs to take into account the population figures. Nigeria's population is estimated at 148,235,170 ( roughly 150 Million ) , Ghana has only about 30 Million whereas Egypt has about 76 Million. I believe these facts should speak for themselves in answering the question about which country is the true giant of Africa. Ghana is a darling of a lot of European countries because they like the fact that Ghana( in a lot of instances) is a charity case, Ghana is a top recipient of overseas aid from Europe and the US. Nigerians should worry more about growing our own economy instead of discussing Ghana. Our true goals should be how to overtake the South African economy and that is where the challenge lies. |
@ Lady T. i assume you are smelling a rat here like me regarding asha 80's assertion that whilst she was doing her masters at a university in Glasgow , she worked as a care worker and was able to administer medication to patients. it worries me that someone who claimed to have bagged a masters degree from a Scottish university would describe Glasgow as the capital of Scotland, just think about it. the fact is that Edinburgh is well known to anyone who has ever visited, schooled or worked in Scotland as the capital. this is just a thought. |
I believe the plots offered for sale in mpape hill layout i.e sections A , J and K are genuine. what you need to request from any seller of such land are- (a) certified R of O (b) re-certification document of the said land from AGIS . And obviously you need to visit AGIS yourself to carry out a formal search of the title documents at AGIS head office ( 4 Peace Drive, Garki, Abuja ), this will cost about N5,000 but it is a necessity. In addition you will also need to employ a qualified solicitor to draw up deed of assignment and power of attorney in relation to the transfer of such land. Then you can rest assured that if anything goes wrong you'll be able to get a refund of any money already paid. Lastly, if you can lay your hands on a reasonably sized plot in mpape hill especially the K section, remember the huge potential it holds due to its proximity to maitama district which is arguably now the most expensive place to acquire land in Abuja if not the whole of Nigeria. Good Luck. |
@ osel are you willing to sell off parts of the residential land on Mpape road abuja, i mean in average plot size of 1,000 sq M. if so how much will a 1,000 sq M cost. how close is it to maitama. Thanks. |
Having just visited the so-called Nigeria's 1st online Real Estate Market website- nethomesng.com, i have come away with the impression that it's owners must be living in cloud cockoo land. Firstly the home page is no better than tens of other nigerian based property web sites, the all too pervasive green background gives the impression it was designed for a nigerian govt parastatal, and on a more serious note i find it unprofessional for the site owners not to provide any response to most of the searches one makes. The only apparent success i made was though a link to their 52 properties available online, it was filled with some astonishing falsies, e.g a property on Aba Road in Port Harcourt marketed at 3M Naira was an apparent lift from an MLS property listing from somewhere in southern US . Another property in Shogunle, Idumota Mushin LGA in Lagos is another one lifted from a property magazine or listing from abroad. The rest of the available properties look like derelict properties awaiting re-possession located in backwater places like doncaster and st helen in the UK. why would decent hard working nigerians be intrested in buying such low quality properties. |
@ hakir, thanks for your helpful response. |
@ Hakir, your insight into landed property in abuja is well respected hence i need your opinion about land in mpape hill area of bwari area council in abuja FCT. What do you think the investment and future potential is for residential development in mpape hill, also what is the cost of of the average plot in the same area ( i.e 1000sq M ). what is the current state of infrastructure there- roads, electricity. i will appreciate your response. By the way, someone posted an advert for land sale on a different thread specifying one( 1 ) acre = 3400 sq M was available. excuse me for being pedantic but for those who are into land deals, it is important to clarify that one ( 1 ) acre is actually 4046.856 sq M to be exact. ( one(1) hectare = 2.471 acres ). I believe everyone agrees that size matters. |
the apparent newspaper article alleging Ribadu has been denied asylum by the UK government can only be described as an attempt by some elements to discredit him in the eyes of Nigerians who get their news from the press. Anyone who has an understanding of how the asylum system works in the Uk should know it is not possible for a decision to be made without examining all the facts relating to any specific application. i will caution everyone to take the story with a pinch of salt. |
i agree with the house attorney ( lawyer ) , it is quite clear that the post by SuperPap should be deleted by the moderator, superpap has in effect shown that he or she is uncivillised, unfit and unable to make any meaningful contribution to such an enlightened forum. |
hakir, please can you post a detailed map of abuja highlighting these areas where the plots are available for one to have a better overview of their investment potential in relation to the FCC and the general FCT area, i am interested in landed property in abuja. |
