ritux: This team is certainly not good.
I don't understand the problem with us blacks in terms of development.
Take a look at Spain who won the Euros in 2008, went on to win the World Cup in 2010 and I think another Euros in 2012.
Exactly a year ago, we had a team we admired in the world cup. Even though we went out in the group stage, most Nigerians were impressed with their performance especially against Iceland and Argentina who prevented us from going to the next round. Just one year down the line, we have a struggling team that cannot even beat Madagascar. We were just fortunate to defeat Cameroon and I just hope South Africa does not expose us. I would have rather played Egypt and this SA team.
A defeat to Egypt will be less painful than a defeat in the hands of SA. Think of victory not defeat |

forgiveness: What did Iwobi do with the chances Moses created for him? He messed up on some occasions. But still the guy was everywhere, one thing I noticed is he's always available to receive the pass he doesn't hide behind opponents but is always roving the length and breadth of the midfield. Plus he had decent shots on goal, the corner we scored from was after the keeper deflected his edge of the box curler. |

caprini1: OP did you watch a different game? Iwobi was the only attacker seriously troubling the Guinean keeper,it was his deflected shot that we scored from the resulting corner.......abeg its only Safarigirl that should be posting football analysis in Nairaland biko! I was surprised to see his Iwobi comment...Iwobi only messed up some few passes apart from that he was everywhere...never hiding from receiving pass |

edi287: Simon may not have been fancy, but he brings workrate to the right wing. He was always going to play 90 mins. Samu was brought on and moved to the middle mainly so we could hit them on the break. I'm surprised Rohr was brave enough to play him there as I've said it's one of the reasons why dropping Nacho wasn't a bad idea. Mikel would've stabilized the midfield true but we were defending deep anyway so Leon could just float the ball long for Onachu to knock down to Samu or out wide to Musa. I agree with your points, I still feel our team needs atleast one more creative midfielder. Someone that has the eye for key passes because our front line is already good at making runs it's even like they're on speed |

Rockyrascal: i believe he left Simon in the game because of the energy he brought to the game and maybe the great support he gave awaziem going back and forth. True, that Simon is a beast the guy energy level is something else. I was just surprised he played Chukwue through the middle. |

Eseose9: I saw it too Iwobi was everywhere, apart from some misplaced or hurried passes here and there he always made himself available to receive passes in the middle. I'm sure he would have more touches than anybody else despite playing for 75 mins. And he's also looking like our best long range shooter at the moment too. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by kushercain: 6:35pm On Jun 26, 2019 |
Rockyrascal: i was expecting another quick change after the coach subbed off iwobi. I was thinking man will bring in Mikel and sub off Simon so that Chukwueze can play in his normal position....he ended up featuring onuachu. Exactly. I don't see why he put in Chukwueze in the middle when he should have subbed of Simon. At least Mikel has midfield presence and would stabilize the midfield. Rorh got that change wrong, hope he's taking notes sha. |

Say no to drugs.
If you find yourself getting addicted to a particular substance because it makes you forget your worries or the intoxication makes you feel good. Ask yourself, what about in the morning? When you wake up with clear head to reality?
If you want to get high, smoke weed but avoid hard drugs. There's no better living through chemistry don't be deceived. |

TruthinAction: Two political party system will resolve this north south dichotomy. Let's have one popular Christian President or a southerner and another Muslim or a Northerner. Then let's see who will win. I bet you, the Northern candidate will only clinch North West and North East. The remaining four geopolitical zones will be clinched by the Southern or Christian candidate. They are making too much noise only because they were able to rig the election and also rigged the result. Double rigging!! The way the North believes power is their birthright really annoys them. Mcleo007: I always laugh at the wisdom with this sort of analogy. A player that is good will perform anywhere and will win trophies if surrounded by equally good players. It is not like CR7 played in small teams all his career or with mediocre players. He was a part of the best United team of the last 20yrs or so. You mean to tell me had Messi played in England for United, moved to Madrid and now to Juve, he would not have won many trophies along the way considering his immense talents? Or imagine Ronaldo in Barca for 13-15yrs;you mean with how good he is, he would not have won many trophies with the team? Your point is like asking the best student in Havard to move to Uniben to prove to the world how good he is. Where is that dipset sef |
