Na to block cryptocurrency totally in Nigeria space na

Laslas nothing go happen, na only shout una go shout for kpatakpata 2 months and that is all grin

U re allowed to use vpn ok, that is not a problem

Cryptocurrency dey banned in naija o grin Na wetin lead to p2p. Before, you can just sell your cryptocurrency directly to the exchange platform and the money show up in your bank account, nothing like p2p where one person go just wake up one morning come say $1 na 1500 naira. Na government put us in this mess in the first place, they know say dem no fit totally ban crypto but they still start the fight

Business / Re: What Made The Dollar Fall Over Night? by KushLyon(m): 11:21am On Apr 22
SULBELL:

It very simple sir. Let me explain as a lay man too.
What you did at bolded is called speculations which many other Nigerian are doing
For example assuming you bought $1 @N1600 then, you will be eager to sell it when you see someone who is willing to buy from you @ N1650, thereby you made an abritage gain of N50 on the volume of $ you bought. This looks very easy right, its like free money, and you don not even have to lift a finger, you just need to punch some keys on your phone grin
Just as you are involve are thousand others too involved, thus the value of the Naira depreciates further. Note that this is profitable for you speculating with the Naira, but it is hurting the nation and millions of Nigerians, A clear example is the skyroketting cost of foodstuffs and electronics, which naturally could have only been marginally affected by the removal of subsidy.

On the flip side, the CBN has cracked down on aiders of such speculations, now there is a bit of sanity, and the Naira is gradually and consistently fighting back, Here what happens is they make the black market rate cheaper so those who hoard $ now will have no choice than to dispose it at a loss. Because I can not see aboki who is ready to sell $ for me @ 1,075, and you expect me to come to you and buy for N1650 because you bought yours for N1600 and we are friends shocked

In simple englis, its the survival of the fittest, while speculators are fighting to make gains from the Naira, the regulators too are fighting to strengteen it, so brother, the fear of uncertainty will make many dispose off the $ they keep, this will further bring down the value against the Naira, thus the reason why the Naira is appretiating.

The decision is yours bro, you can sell it off now and count your loss cool
or with for a miracle that it will somehow magically go toward the 2k mark before ending of May as many have speculated grin

But this is similar to what forex traders do, will you call them speculators too?

same shadow that produced effect earlier??

Oloriburuku

He is right sha, the government is chasing shadows and that's because of the nature of cryptocurrency. Initially they were fighting Binance, but now that Binance has been handled they are now fighting other crypto firms. The problem now is that you can never tackle all of these crypto platforms, we don't even know the owners of some of them because they are completely anonymous. They defeat one crypto platform today and the naira start gaining, within a few weeks it starts depreciating again because speculators have moved to another platform and it's only a matter of time before they stabilize and continue doing what they have been doing. Binance p2p fell, and speculators stayed low-key for things to settle down, now they are back at it again using platforms like Bybit and Kucoin, for how long will the government continue doing this fire brigade approach?

1. Find a way to get the number of years from that 700. How do you get that "1 year" from 700 days?

2. When you have figured it out, make sure the result is actually 1 and not something like 1.91 (only the 1 is needed, round it down).

3. Figure out a way to get the total number of days in the year result. If it's 1 year, how many days are in a year? If it's 2 years, how many days are in 2 years? Do the calculation.

4. After you have gotten the result, you now have to calculate the number of days remaining from that initial 700 days. One way to do it is to use the modulus operator (%) but you can also use subtraction.

5. When you have gotten the remaining days, you can now calculate the weeks. Calculating this is similar to how you did it for the year, but remember that there are 7 days in a week.

6. After you have gotten the weeks, follow step 3 but you should now figure out the number of days in that weeks that you calculated (47 weeks). How many days are in 47 weeks? The hint for calculating this is in step 5

7. Calculate the remaining days using a similar method to the one in step 4 but remember that you're not calculating this from the initial 700 but it should be calculated from the remaining days value you got in step 4.

8. The answer you get in step 7 is the number of days (6 days)

As someone else said, first do the math with a pen and paper. If the modulus operator is confusing to use while doing the math, use subtraction. The problem is very easy, just try to solve it on your own rather than looking for a direct answer. I have given you more than enough hints, follow it step by step and understand it. Good luck

The certificate is now pegged at almost $220.

Except it's not the "right place" I visited.

I walked through the website yesterday.

Thanks.

There are 2 certificates, one is free and you get it at the end of the course (certificate of completion) while the other is a verified certificate, which is $219. The free one is from Harvard, while the verified one is from EDX

When learning CS50, was it the notes you followed or the videos on YouTube?

Well done.

I used edx website, that's the only way you can get full access to the course resources and the tests, and also get a free certificate after you're done

Hmmm. This is so me.

I don’t have a computer science degree. I studied Microbiology but I have this flare for tech, so I started buying courses on Udemy after getting a road map from a friend. I’m doing Frontend first since I’m new to everything but the frontend is so full at the moment.

Html, CSS, JavaScript - start applying for jobs.

After taking a html/ css course, I took an advanced css course to learn css more as well as SASS. Then I learnt JavaScript- started applying then I knew that I wasn’t ready. Lol

Now I’m learning React.js and I already have courses for MongoDB and Node.

Sometimes I ask myself if these are really programming. The C# and python and the rest; I only know their names but don’t know what they do. I guess not having good info and not a C science student affected me.

Now, to apply for jobs is tiring me cuz I feel I’m not good enough.

What do you suggest I do? The image is the roadmap I plan on following

PS: I’m knowledgeable with html, css and JavaScript that I’ve learnt so far, React is still coming up cuz that’s where I am at now.

This is the same roadmap every beginner have, and in the end everyone ends up with the exact same stack (MERN, MEAN, or MEVN). Supply far outweighs demand and you will struggle a lot to find a job. This path is actually easy and it's why most beginners run to it, so I will suggest you do things differently to give you an edge. I will recommend you to go edx platform and look for Harvard CS50, it's an introduction to computer science course and will teach you basic computer concepts you should know if you were a CS student. They will teach you C and considering your first programming language is JavaScript, you might find it hard to learn C and might even want to give up so many times but I promise you that if you're able to struggle through it, you will start seeing JavaScript in a different light and also find it easier to learn other languages.

That CS50 course will introduce you to data structures and algorithms but you should also go deeper in it using other resources (either video or books). For me, I'm currently using Grokking Algorithms book (PDF available online). After React, I suggest you look into languages most beginners run from, which is either Java or C#. You can still learn nodeJS if you want to, it will be extra work but will be worth it in the end. As it is now, you will have to go the extra mile to be able to survive in this current tech market

They said C is not beginner friendly, what do you think?

Its exactly why you should learn it. I'm glad that my first programming language is C because it made learning Python and JavaScript so much easier. C is very low level and will teach you how things really work in a computer (memory management and all that) which is something that is heavily abstracted in high level languages like Python and JavaScript

Good question. I will explain. When Linux, Mac, Android or iOS releases a new version then there might be soon issues with the application running on these new versions of those platforms, so if the .Net version is still being updated by Microsoft then Microsoft will release a fix for the issues, but if Microsoft has stopped updating the .Net version then is either you upgrade your application to a newer version of .Net that Microsoft still provides an update for or on the alternative you might be able to find a hack to solve the issue as a quick fix.

That's very typical of Microsoft, it's similar to what they do with Windows updates. I guess the best choice is to always update to the latest .Net version

MindHacker9009:

No problem. I understand, to make it clearer. You have all these versions of C# .Net that run on Linux, Mac, Android and iOS.

.Net Core 1.0 to 3.1 - Now old and Microsoft has stopped updating these versions
.Net 5 - Now old and Microsoft has stopped updating these version
.Net 6 - .Net7 - Microsoft will soon stop updating these versions
.Net 8 to .Net 10 - Microsoft is still updating these versions

They are for web, desktop, mobile and console applications - Has .Net Core MVC, Razor pages for web application, WPF for desktop applications, Xamarin/.NET MAUI for mobile applications, Web Services, Blazor for PWAs, WCF, Python, Class library, SQL Server Project etc.

When stating with .Net you might find it easy to start with an .Net Core or .Net 5 and above Module-View-Controller project.

You will find a lot of good resources here on YouTube to get you started:
https://www.youtube.com/@Csharp-video-tutorialsBlogspot
https://www.youtube.com/@IAmTimCorey

I truly appreciate the effort you put into explaining all these. I have saved the YouTube channels you recommended and will check them out when I start learning. If I may ask, what happens to the programs that are written with versions that are no longer supported? Do they keep working as before or are upgraded to the latest version?

No worries. That was in the past that C# was for windows platform only which stopped with C# .Net MVC 4.8 which is now legacy. Now C# .Net Core and C# .Net 5 and above runs on Linux and Mac.

I see. Thank you very much for your detailed explanation, it has cleared my confusion about the whole thing

I will say because Java is everywhere and I've have had more experience with Java in terms on J2ME, Processing, Spring boot and swing, Java is verbose but the new Java API is okay especially with Lombok packages, but Kotlin might fit, C# too is not bad just that I've spent more time with Java.

I understand now, and I will just stick with C#. Thank you very much for your response boss, I appreciate it

lot of C# jobs in EU, but I prefer Java because of how easy it is for Linux

I'm still having a hard time picking between both of them, but I only chose C# because Java's syntax is very verbose, and most people just hate Java for one reason or the other. But on the other hand, I prefer Linux to Windows, and that's why I'm still considering Java. Aside the reason you gave, is there any other one why you prefer Java?

What is the best path, what path would you advise a beginner to tow.

For me, I started with HTML and CSS, then I took an introduction to Computer Science course with Harvard (available on edx) where I learned the basics of C, Python and SQL. After that I took JavaScript and currently learning React. At the same time, I'm also learning data structures and algorithms using C and my next target is C# and the dotnet framework. A lot of people just go with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. And then they pick up MongoDB, Express, React (or Vue or Angular) and Node.js and right now, that field is over saturated. Most beginners run away from things like, Java and C#, that's where you should be heading to; just pick one of them and be very proficient at it

Omo undecided tone down on your negativity o, I don't see the need for all these insults. Some of the so called JavaScript enthusiasts never knew better, they were just victims of YouTubers and Twitter influencers who told them they should just learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript and they are good to go. Some of us are privileged to have found the right information online and decided to walk the path many people run from. No guts, no glory. But still chill sha.
