Islam › Re: Men’s Braids In Islam by kushme: 11:51am On Feb 06 |
TaofeeqAA: Sunnah, culture, and the guardrails that keep it halal (and classy)
Men braiding their hair sits right where grooming meets public meaning. In one place it’s seen as heritage and masculinity; in another it’s read as feminine-coded fashion. Islam’s approach is actually very practical: the base rule for grooming is permissibility, but your hairstyle must stay inside a few clear boundaries. This article lays out the actual evidence, the role of Quraysh-era Arab custom, and how the four Sunni madhhabs typically frame the issue without exaggeration.
1) What the Sunnah actually establishes The clearest hadith used in this topic is the narration of Umm Hani: The Prophet ﷺ entered Makkah with four plaits/braids (Sunan Abi Dawud, 4191). That’s huge, because it means braiding is not inherently haram. If an action was done by Prophet Muhammad, the act itself cannot be automatically forbidden. But it’s equally important not to overstate it: braiding isn’t usually treated as an “act of worship Sunnah” that everyone should copy. Most scholars place it under customary actions (ʿādah / jibilliyyah). Things that happen as part of life, climate, travel, and local norms. A well-known explanation is that when his hair grew long (often due to travel or busyness), he braided it in line with Arab custom at the time.
2) It wasn’t “only the Prophet” — Companion evidence exists Sometimes people ask: “Do we have anything from the Sahabah?” Yes. In Sahih al-Bukhari (Hadith 5919), Abdullah ibn Abbas describes the Prophet ﷺ moving him during night prayer by taking hold of his two braids/locks. This matters because it shows braids weren’t viewed as a bizarre, forbidden novelty among early Muslims. At minimum, it confirms the practice existed among boys/men in that environment.
3) What about ʿUmar’s statement (narrated by Abdul ibn Umar): “Whoever braids his hair should shave it”? This is a key piece to include—with the correct context. In Sahih al-Bukhari (5914), Umar ibn al-Khattab is quoted: whoever braids his hair should shave it - on finishing ihram, and he warns against “talbīd” (binding/matting hair). So, what does it actually prove? 1. It proves braiding/binding hair was a known practice among men. 2. It also shows jurists took it seriously enough to give Hajj/ʿUmrah rulings about how to exit ihram properly. What it does NOT prove: that Umar banned braids in everyday life. The narration is tied to ihram completion rules, not daily grooming.
4) Was braiding a Quraysh custom? People often say, “braiding was Quraysh culture.” The cleanest way to phrase this is: Braiding was part of broader Arab custom in the Hijaz during that era, and Quraysh being the ruling tribe in Mecca lived inside that cultural world. The sources most often describe it as “custom of the Arabs”, not a unique Quraysh-only marker. So yes, it’s reasonable to call it normal Arab custom of the time (including Meccans/Quraysh) but it’s safer and more accurate to avoid claiming it was a “Quraysh-exclusive identity practice” unless you’re quoting a precise historical text. And for modern times (2026): “Quraysh” today is mostly lineage, not a single global community with one shared hairstyle tradition. The tribe historically existed as a Meccan confederation, but descendants are spread widely and follow local norms.
5) The four madhhabs: where they converge, and why they sound different Instead of “one madhhab says halal / the other says haram,” it’s more accurate to say: all four schools treat grooming as permissible by default, and they differ in how strongly they apply two filters: a. tashabbuh (imitation especially of women, or distinctive immoral identities) b. ʿurf / muru’ah (local custom and dignified public appearance)
1. Abu Hanifa (Hanafi lens) Hanafi discussions often emphasize gender distinction and “what this looks like in your society.” A widely cited Hanafi summary: braids for men can be permissible if they do not resemble women’s braids and do not imitate distinctive non-Muslim styles. At the same time, you will find some Hanafi fatwa responses that are stricter (especially in societies where braiding is strongly coded as female grooming) arguing a man should avoid it to stay clear of imitation. Takeaway: under the Hanafi lens, the ruling can shift with culture and “what message it sends.”
2. Malik ibn Anas (Maliki lens) The Maliki approach is famously attentive to ʿurf (custom) and muru’ah (dignified manliness). Even when a source isn’t explicitly labeling it “Maliki,” the principle is the same: follow what your society recognizes as dignified and normal, and avoid what makes you a target for mockery or suspicion. A mainstream, widely circulated juristic conclusion says exactly that: follow custom and tradition in men’s braiding so you don’t expose yourself to people’s mockery/backbiting. (That sentence captures the Maliki-style reasoning very well, even though it’s not limited to Malikis.)
3. Al-Shafi'i (Shafiʿi lens) Shafiʿi framing typically treats hair styling as permissible grooming unless it collides with a clear prohibition. This school is also careful about prophetic prohibitions like qazaʿ (partial shaving), which becomes relevant in modern “braids + extreme fade” styles. A commonly cited Shafiʿi authority, al-Nawawi, is quoted explaining qazaʿ and its disliked/prohibited nature based on hadith. Takeaway: permissibility is broad, but keep your haircut within prophetic grooming boundaries.
4. Ahmad ibn Hanbal (Hanbali lens) A clear modern summary of the Hanbali line states: prolonging hair is allowed, and it can be permissible for a man to braid it with conditions: don’t seek fame, don’t attach it to unethical identity signals, and don’t violate the accepted customs of your society. Takeaway: permissible, but disciplined by intention + public meaning.
6) The two guardrails that decide the ruling in real life Guardrail A: Avoid tashabbuh (imitation) The issue isn’t “braids are female by nature.” The issue is: are you adopting a look that your society reads as women-exclusive or morally-coded? A balanced Hanafi guideline puts it plainly: braids are allowed if they don’t imitate women’s braids or distinctive non-Muslim styles. Practical application: I. Keep it simple and functional, not ornamental. II. Avoid women-coded accessories (beads/jewels) if that’s how your society reads them. III. Ask: Would reasonable people here say I’m copying a women’s style? If yes, choose a different approach.
Guardrail B: Avoid qazaʿ (partial shaving / patchy cuts) The Prophet ﷺ forbade qazaʿ (shaving parts and leaving tufts/patches). This is where modern barber trends enter the conversation. “Braids with a skin fade” can resemble the qazaʿ pattern depending on how extreme it is. A useful clarification: cutting hair shorter on the sides doesn’t automatically equal qazaʿ—but very short sides with long top can resemble it, and the safer route is a more even, non-extreme cut.
7) So… is it Sunnah to braid? If you mean: “Will I be rewarded just for braiding?” Most scholars won’t present it that way. Many explicitly say braiding is not a regular Sunnah practice done consistently; it happened on occasion, tied to circumstance and custom.
A better way to say it is: Braiding can be permissible, and it can be a valid way to manage long hair. Your “reward” comes from intention and adab: cleanliness, modesty, avoiding vanity, and obeying the prophetic limits. And don’t forget the broad prophetic principle: if you have hair, honor it - meaning keep it clean, cared-for, and dignified.
A simple “halal braids” checklist (2026-friendly) If you want the simplest fiqh-safe route: 1. Hair is clean, maintained, and not neglected. 2. The braid style is normal/masculine in your environment (or at least not women-exclusive). 3. No imitation of women’s distinctive styling in your culture. 4. Avoid qazaʿ / extreme uneven shaving. 5. Intention is grooming/convenience/culture—not fame or “look at me.”
Conclusion Men braiding their hair is not automatically haram. The Sunnah preserves a clear report of the Prophet ﷺ entering Makkah with four braids, Companion-era evidence exists, and jurists across the madhhabs treat it as customary grooming permissible so long as it doesn’t cross into tashabbuh, qazaʿ, or vanity/fame-seeking. Stop worrying about what other people do with their lives, as long as they don't violate the right of other people. Leqve dem with dem braids.. Plenty of don'ts, life becomes boring. |

melechpilusof: The first step to gaining mental fortitude is to find out why you were sent here, I mean your purpose on earth. Sadly, I can't do that for you. I found my purpose by digging deep into my soul to find out what truly gives me joy and happiness. Lo and Behold it's helping people in need. I am here to help people even when I myself am lacking I still have to help people because I'm stronger. In 2017 I was homeless for a brief period, despite the fact that I have accommodation back home I still prefer traveling to distant places to struggle on my own. I was homeless and some dude gave me a well furnished room lol I didn't pay any dime for 8 months, during that period I helped 2 homeless people squat with me in the free accommodation I was given until I persuaded them to return to their families. Sometimes I see myself in my dream in different countries helping sick people. Somehow people are empowered when I talk to them but they are not strong enough to take it a step further. Unfortunately, I am also blessed with vision. I can see things others cannot see. I'm on a journey and I can take you with me if only you like to go , I will not take anything from you. I will only advise you and put things before you to analyze and make your own decisions. Free will, never forget, anyone that tries to infringe on your freewill is from the adversary. Never trust such a person. Even the devil gave Adam and Eve a choice so you must be well informed and wise to use your free will to your benefit. I like the mental fortitude direction, i have stayed steadfast, not to lose myself since 2015 when my elder relation(we were peaceful, living and doing things together) sent me out of his house in kd with 10k to go look for a life cos he got married. Funnily, the 10k was slashed to 7k by the wifey. I boarded a train that evening, headed straight to Abj with no destination. Called a friend who is a soldier and on sick leave receiving treatment at NAF medical center abj. I slept at the hospital for 2 days disguised to be a caregiver to my friend, some snitch discovered the trick, told the commander, they waited till midnight before they kicked me out of the base(barrack). I slept few days at a particular junction in nuwalege village close to the base. Never told any family member my situation, and can't return home cos my father remarried, reason i left the house to find a life after school. I only had pity for self with little anger for Dad then. Just to know, mama died long time ago. I understand you can't help find my purpose, but this conversation we are having would provoke my thoughts in that direction. You know most of us basically won't find our purpose here on earth. All i seek right now is finance to solve my current situation. I have a trauma concerning housing in the past, i don't want to see that happen again. I am at work losing concentration as we speak, it is break time so i had to reply your message. And i am ready to go on the fruitful journey with you with no sense of desperation. Thank you. |
Romance › Re: My Married Guy Advised Me Not To Get Married by kushme: 6:22am On Feb 02 |
ollyboy900: Bro i tried. My estranged woman family is the type that do not want their daughters (children in short including their only son) to live even a mile away from them. The story long
When we were preparing for wedding, they wanted to force me to rent a N1m flat on the Lagos Island (Omo, after all the wedding expenses and their unreasonable traditional wedding list) , my capacity was a N450k 2 bedroom flat at the time (2018), on the Mainland.
This caused friction for more than 2year as her mother said she would never come to our house because it's far. I sensed her hanger was because she couldn't control me perhaps like she's doing two her other two son inlaws
Her mother built on the island so she was obviously trying to make us stay close to her. Her other two daughters; one lives on the same street with her hubby, the other lives in her mother's building with her hubby (Chaii that cannot be me). They are obviously well to do than my family but i no send them, i get good job, i have ambition and i know my strength.
I got the shocker after the wedding, we conceived my first son just 2 weeks after the wedding (Yes, na my son no worries. DNA is done) and sorry i forgot to mention that my estranged madam works on the island, so her office is closer to her mother's home. That how she told me that she would be staying in her mother's house from Monday till Friday, she will come home on friday then leave again on Monday just to avoid traffic stress to and fro daily,
We have agreed before wedding that she would seek job at ikeja, closer to home after wedding but she seems not interested in that anymore. When i explained my disapproval of her decision to her family, they obviously backed their daughter and that showed me that it was orchestrated by them.
Bro, that's how i lived for 7.5yrs in that marriage ooo, partly married, weekend wife. We were blessed with two handsome boys. But just like a poster said up there, mostly men must act the fool for the marriage to work (what a big fool i was 😀).
When it comes to the home, i pay 99.99% of the expenses, from children schools fees, house rent, kids upkip, food stuff, all kitchen gadgets that mostly reasonable women would get themselves (except all plates, spoons and cups we use in the house despite that madam is working). Compound cleaner was the least monthly expense i paid, just N1500. Madam didn't pay a single one for all the period of marriage, even when i sat her down to reason, she wouldn't change. Even if expenses is choking me (You know those time when house rent expires children resumes a new section, family car broke down all at once?), when i get them sorted out, she will never bother to ask me how i did.
But what broke the camels's back happened last year 2025. September 2024, i paid for her professional exam, i encouraged her to start so that when she becomes chattered, she would be able to get good job closer to home (ikeja been the target), she did her her first diet in November, result should be out in max a month time, but she never tell me her results, i kept asking but she said she hasn't check. I noticed she may be having cold feet about the result, but i told her not to worry. It is unlikely you pass all your papers at once, i am the one paying, just read.
I later heard from an outsider that she passed one out of four papers, she never told me. Towards the end of December 2024, i bought a lithium battery to ensure we have steady light at home so she can read in the midnight. Unfortunately, that battery exploded on Wednesday 8th January while charging it, alot of properties were destroyed, it was around 8pm, thank God she was away with my kids and thank God it wasn't when i was sleeping. Neighbors rose to my help and we quench the fire but the damage was much.
I informed madam the second morning and told her not to worry that I'm safe, know fully that she will be home on friday. When she return she never said anything, never bothered how i survived, never greeted me. I had electrician working (because all the 6 prepaid meter in our compound were burnt) painters working, aluminum man changing all the broken windows etc. But nothing like "How is it going" from madam or her family members (i overheard her telling telling her that about the situation over the phone later that day)
That day i knew i married my enemy and i was the only one in that marriage, she doesn't care. I felt pained, rejected and lonely but i left it behind for my kids' sake. I tried to find out from her if i offended her in anyway or why she couldn't be stone hearted towards me like that, but she said "nothing". For the first time in 7yrs, i reported her to her father but i see no changes or even feedback from her father.
But the decision to leave happened in june last year to October, i was sick to the point of no return. Millions of Naira gone finding my health, but madam was never there, she didn't even take a one day leave to stay by me. Her parent was informed on my condition but never bother to call or even pay a visit. Then my siblings started coming to my house to take care of me, each of them stays a month before next one comes (i always inform her of their coming so she doesn't feel off). Even when she comes home in the weekend and i insist that she should be the one to make my food, she won't, she will say my family members is around and should make my food afterall they do it when she's not around. I had to leave home early in September because my siblings also left their lives to take care of my out of love (thank God i am good to all of the; so the love was massive), one of them, kid sister lives in ibadan and not married yet, so i moved to stay with her and continue my search for healing. I decided not inform her to see if she would be worried of my wereabout. For 3 months sept-Nov, she didn't bother to call any of my family member to find out about me or where i could be, her parent? the same. She still comes home every weekend without the kids, (perhaps because of her studies), i do see her from the CCTV.
Then, i knew i had to leave. Then i packed my load outa the house towards November ending (still had 5 months rent when i packed), got an apartment in another state and living my life. Thank God for the investments here and there cause i couldn't work (I run my own business) throughout the period and medical bills was much, i still took care of all the home and kids financial needs. Madam's contribution was on N10k throughout the ordeal, and that's on the day i was run rushed to General hospital cos i hadn't been sleeping for 14days straight. My car was out of fuel and i was out of cash.
Now she is fully back to her parents' house, are other 2 sisters are back too (their husbands don carry the children and left). Her only brother is 34, unmarried, still staying with the mother. Father and mother are no divorced but haven't been living together for like 15yrs. Now their family pastors are the one calling me and my siblings up and down preaching "what God has join together" bulls**hit.
She was a good girl before marriage, but trust me, this gender sabi hide their true color. I never cheated on her (infact I've never had intimacy with 2 woman in my life), not that i can't but it doesn't just align with my moral value, i provide, i made her my best friend but it wasn't enough. No one should tell me about "marry right" because no relationship feels wrong before you say i do. There is a reason why apostles paul admonished men in the bible not to marry if not to fall into adultry, marriage is trouble. If yours hasn't come, congrats. Enjoy it while it last, early or later, you must regret something about it. And if your marriage is below 5yrs, abeg don't think you have a good home yet, time will test your marriage
So now my brother, i must thank you for allowing me to vent this off, can't believe i wrote this epistle. My focus now is to build my empire so my boys can be proud of me cos i plan to give them the world. I will go see them in school tomorrow to celebrate their birthday ( Cake, biscuit, sweet parcel, everything is ready 🤫🤫).
I still thank God all these challenges surfaced while I'm still young. At 37, i still have greater things ahead of me, women may not be one of them though. Mehn, this your experience carry too much weight, we can't lift it. From what you wrote, classism was at play. The mother said she would never come to mainland(reason, it is far). The fact is, she never wanted you to marry her daughter, part of why they gave you unreasonable wedding list. If it was a weathy family who are based in Abj the daughter got married into, Abj wouldn't be that far from momma's house on the Lagos island. I think it is sad to say this; your enstranged weekend wifey never loved you in the first place. It was about the wedding to her, not the marriage. She couldn't cook for you when you were sick, never cared to ask you for once, how are you doing". Well, even the sisters who stayed back on the island close to mama are all back home to mama like your weekend wifey. So, the pattern speaks for itself. It would be very questionable to blame all three sons in-law for the return of three sisters back home. The controlled and the uncontrolled all lost their wivies to momma, simple. If they truly accepted you from the beginning, the renting of apartment on the island or mainland wouldn't be an issue. You are welcome bro, vent oh, sometimes it is needed. Eh dey ease burden on mind. And Happy bithday to your kids. |

melechpilusof: Get over here bro! Am not done with you. I'm going to completely change your life, but for now I'm going to give you the spirit of the early Christians to enable you smile, endure and persevere through this hard time you are passing through. Have you ever faced death and you were ready go without fear? I will be glad and rejoice in thee, if you can give me the spirit of the early Christians in order to make me hopeful and keep some genuine smiles way often on my face. I have endured disappointments longer that i no longer feel disppointed that much, experience has drastically limited my expectations. I sometimes feel resentment for self for lack of funds to conveniently pay my bills, travel and then go back to school. I feel stagnant. Furthermore, it's been a long time like this and i will not give up. Well, as for facing death, i could only think of one situation, sometime in 2016, armed rubbers came to our compound in Kaduna, forcefully entered our flat, i was the only one at home that early morning, my friend(roommate) travelled to Zaria, they brought down the burglary proof, three entered, slapped and hit me on the leg with the heavy mental they used in bringing down the burglar proof for not opening the door. Although, they tried the door first but was hard for them to break in. After the slaps and mental hit on the leg, one of them asked to lie facing the floor, i did, was i scared? yes. However, truly speaking, i felt indifferent concerning dying that morning, i wouldn't say if i was ready to go(die) or not. And now, if i face death in the hands of bandits or boko haram, i will not be ready to die, and yes i will be scared. |

melechpilusof: Don't worry, it's people like you that I want to help. I will help you for free. While I was in Nigeria, I owned 2 businesses a guest house and car rental, that's how I know the average salary of the average Nigerian and also 50k is a bench mark sum, when a business owner says "I Pay him 50k" it sounds like a decent amount of money because 10yrs ago it was actually a decent sum of money so business owners are still running with it. I will ask you a simple question about the early Christians. When the Romans were killing them in horrific way, why weren't they scared of death? Infact it is said that while they were being devoured by lions in the arenas, they were singing and praising God, can you try to find out why? The early Christians had hope of resurrection in Christ Jesus, because they believed that death has been defeated by Christ Jesus, i believe is one of the reasons they weren't scared of death. Ha, You are right on the "I pay him 50k", cos the 50k is our new salary, then it was 35k. Whenever there is a briefing, the management staff don't forget to use the increment as a threat or reminder on teachers. "We have increased your salary,so focus on your primary assignment or resign. We don't want to see you gathering in 2s gossiping".... All i can feel here after seeing your reply, is a level of care i have never had. You are giving me a reason to be hopeful for today. melechpilusof: By poverty I mean the absence of safety nets, high costs of living, low standards of living, crime, corruption, other negative economic conditions, etc.
The Answer is yes. Porn addiction is linked to Poverty. Make no mistakes, I love my Nigeria, I love Nigerians. However, you see the politicians with the exception of people like Sam Mbakwe, Musa Yar'Adua, etc The rest, both dead and alive must be put on trial to Answer for their crimes. Do you know the number of young lives lost simply because of corruption? A governor looted funds meant for improving education or hospitals has led to the death of atleast 50 million Nigerians! Go to Ghana and Ivory coast, there are atleast 10million Nigerian girls doing prostitution in West Africa Alone. Millions of boys doing yahoo and engaging in deadly ritualistic activities just to get money. Plus the Millions dead in the Sahara Desert trying to flee to Europe, how about those dead in Arab and North Africa? They died without a trace and their parents think they made it to Europe.
Shebi you see why people like Buhari, if he is truly dead must be exhumed and put on trial. Yes, I will personally take on the task of digging up corrupt politicians and putting them on trial, if the verdict is death, imprisonment, or whatever, the corpse must serve his punishment. Rubbish!
Because of Politicians like Uzor Kalu, Hope Uzodinma, Yahya Bello... many Nigerian youths are destroying their own lives, nobody that is gainfully employed or busy being productive with their lives and having the basic necessities of life such as food, shelter, security, education, internet, a voice, justice and a clear conscience will ever dabble in porngraphy. Look at the most visited websites by Nigerians, we watch alot of porn and gambling. Compare that with a working country like U.K or even neighbors Ghana, go and check the most visited websites in Ghana and compare to Nigeria. Why do we Nigerians Watch so much porn and gambling? Poverty and Hopelessness caused by corruption. Buhari alone stole 250,000,000,000,000(two hundred and fifty trillion naira plus+). It's only in Nigeria that you see a teacher earning 50,000 naira a month, that's $30 per month i.e $1 a day. In Ghana a tiny nation, the same teachers receive upwards of 20800ghc. Approximately 230,000 naira per month which is about $200 per month, it comes with standard affordable housing, security, etc and because they have a voice, the are clamoring for more increment. This issue of Porn and its connection to Poverty is something I observed with my self, I started watching porn in 2008 on dvds. Yes, I was jobless at that time. But as soon as I found purpose and meaning in life, I could effortlessly go months without thinking about sex, only seeking meaningful connections. But when I fell back into depression, jobless and Hopeless I fell back to porn. As soon I got money again I abandoned porn. You see, I am quite privileged and above average intelligence, what happens to the less privileged with no money or connections? They fall into porn and gambling. You can crosscheck my observations and you will see that I'm correct. Porn comes from darkness and it only bedevils people in dark places such as Hopelessness and depression. Notice how you don't do degenerative things when you are happy and peaceful with bright future prospects. In Nigeria, even those employed are being treated as slaves. I have a soldier friend, died on first deployment since 2017 and his family hasn't received his benefits due to him. Another served Nigeria for more than 2 decades and after retirement he go paid 1.2 million naira that is about $700. $700 for over 3 decades of service to nation?
I don't know how long it will take, but Corrupt politicians, dead or alive must be put on trial and publicly Punished. I agree with you wholeheartedly. You effortlessly talked(wrote) about realities i and many Nigerians are facing in our daily struggles. Sometimes, i feel that hopelessness. You even gave the exact figure of my monthly pay($30=NGN50K) as a slave math teacher in a private school, them dey over work me. You outrightly said somethings concerning me up there. See proof of Salary for January. The money has finished already. I would love to move to Ghana and be a math teacher there. How do i process it from Nigeria? As for the porn and poverty. Like they use to say,"sex sells". It breaks me the more when i saw your 10million rough calculation of our females trading sex in Ghana and other west african countries. Don't want to repeat all you've said. Let me deviate a little, i went for an interview last month(dec,2025). I possess the necessary skills on the job. Now, according to 2 guys working there, they both told me i came tops in the interview, but a guy i knew who is in charge don't want me there, rather,he called a female we once worked together who's out of state to come for the position. She called me and told me. The idea is that the guy has a mission to complete on the lady, so, if she works close to him he may achieve that. A friend of mine working in the organization said, the guy would sometimes talk and laugh about how a particular guy who would call him, begging for money. Just like the politicians some men don't want us to get good jobs, pay our bills and feed our families. They want to see us beg all the time. These are the kind of guys copying our politicians, they don't want to see you live a decent life. They hate you, if you are not like them. They want to see the pressure and panick in you all the time. Helping another man, means a threat to the amount of women they want to have around them. Mostly, that's their motivation. I was awake thinking with tear drops in my eyes, asking myself why the financial stress with all the efforts one puts to work and try to do the right thing. Why do i have to go through disrespect(i don't take it to heart that much) from folks i think they got me. I quietly teach kids why i battle housing and stress. Can't even raise a reasonable amount to move out of my current situation.., my current rent expires in April but the new house owner wants us out of his house, he wants people who will abide to sharia law(no drinking of alcohol,no female visitors, single women should leave)while living in his house. In fact, he later said we all should leave. We are going to court tomorrow. In all of this, can't even think straight, lack of concentration at work. |

The worst thing is that the wife created problem between him and his siblings. Now he is dying inside without any of his siblings caring about him. This is someone that people wish to be in his shoes. My elder bro changed after he got married, I dey mostly sense contempt when we talk. He just dey try hide am just for humanity, and probably blood sake. I think the wife did a good job on the divide. She basically sabi many things about we his siblings. Northsouth: you self see that kine thing Na so Dem dey do Me I believe they know what they are doing. Dem just dey pretend, they lean more on terrorism and they even sponsor terrorism more than nationalist The EU and socialists think and feel they love and care more about people by engaging in long dialogues and meetings just to portray themselves as empathizers. Na wayo self They end up doing nothing and they even compromise their base as well I agree with you. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: When Europe Leads It Results In Chaos, Delay And Decline - Donald Trump by kushme: 6:52am On Jan 22 |
Northsouth: True true, Europe too dey delay better solutions to matters and disputes. Too many bureaucratic meetings and solving nothing. The fact self is, too much of human rights extension can destroy normal morality. E.g gay and transgender, that is a complete overdo of democracy. Not to talk of sympathy for terrorists Nonsense Everything must get limit Time for law and order Thank you Trump Trump is right on the bold. I once worked with an Ngo like that. I disliked it, didn't learn anything new, only repetitions and threats. The current School, where i am a teacher is like that. Nothing new to say during meetings. |

motayoayinde: Seun. The rabid islamophobia on Nairaland is getting to breaking points. There's hardly ANY topic on the front page which doesn't elicited comments showing open hate for Muslims and Islam and quite often, a call for the extermination of Muslims by rabid islamophobes who have found a safe haven on your platform to make comments they can't make on most other public SM platforms.
I don't see why anyone who says "Islam/Muslims must be eradicated/exterminated" should not be permanently banned!
DO SOMETHING. Please, do not see this question cos i know and have seen a lot of kind people who are practising the religion, but what do you think, made people to hate muslims and islam? There must be a reason. |

How unfair could you say that after reading from both sides, or just seeing things your own ways.. I only dropped Baba's damuwa(worries), seeing that i could only help by posting it here to see if anyone had similar experience and possible solution(s). Ttalk: Education is not the subject here, what matters is the application of common sense in processing information.
When you made transfer was such amount charged from your account?
Why directly blame government when you don't even have capacity to process what you were told If my topic said gov'. Don't you think gov' started this whole thinking, cos they glitched? BABA's money was deducted due to his mathematical understanding, he complained, i listened, observed and reached out to unbiased folks here, only for people like you to call me a liar. You are black like me, what is your contribution to humanity? Aside trying to humiliate me!! |
Politics › Re: What Kind Of Gov' Is This? by kushme(op): 9:29pm On Jan 16 |
SixSeven: From your pictures, maybe the Baba made a mistake of sending it 4x instead of 3x. What I saw there was that he was charged 62 naira for every transaction. Do the math and you see. It looks like 4 transactions, not 3.
1.800 - 1.719
Will give you approx 81k.
What is the solution? He can ask the recipient to send the 20k back. Are you serious? Do you hate truth or pretend a lot for your belle? How would a learned man type this. If this na the educated(deceptive) people to defend thieves we believe in, then its not new. |

Ttalk: I want to assume you are educated so my response to you will be based on the logical meaning you find in that story.
How do you assume 19k deduction is solely for tax deduction if truly you are educated.
Where is the place of common sense in this?
Haven't you made a transfer of up to 50k this year, how much was deducted from such transfer you made?
Why bringing unverified claim here when you could have help the old man trace what actually caused the deduction. Don't assume, i am not educated as you, cos i only teach less logical mathematics. Now, after reaching out to Baba for evidence, he provided the following

lionshare: If you provide proof I will refund the full amount sent by the retiree. How about that? Seeing this comment. I am going to baba's place now now to telll that he is lying if he can't provide evidence.. I hope you keep to the end of your own words if i could prove it? We live in the north and act low as minority, we don't lie concerning things like this. Thanks to my luck Baba responded to this. When i went to Baba and told him what i did(puttin' online what he complained about), he was reluctant to give in but respected the maths teacher he knew. He then asked how can that help him? I showed him your comment. That was why he allowed me to snap the alert messages. Now, i observed and tried to make sense out of every deduction to what it was. Baba, got a credit alert of NGN1.8m yesterday(15/01/2026) Then did three(3) ussd transfers today(16/012026) of NGN20,000 Which is supposed to be NGN60,000. So, with charges and the rest, is Baba supposed to get a balance of NGN1,719,692.48
