As it is, i never voted any of these deceivers, but i am seriously affected by their leadership. I am the bed with grumbling stomach right now. All i have in the house are few cups of rice and a piece of onion. No salary for a whole one week salah break.

Even if the 50k salary enter, na debt already to be paid. Where i do collect food on credit, is hard to go there like now. Planning on selling my phone to ease some of these financial difficulties. No help from anywhere. I don tire. Even the lessons i dey do, no pay from any of them, yet. Even the 5k and 10k you try to earn, no dey come on time.

As long as youre communicating with those youre owing, its understandable. I have tenants owing me, as long as they communicate with me, i dont have any issues with them. Its when they dont communicate about paying me that i feel cheated and nobody wants to feel cheatwd at all.

Thank you for this, i do communicate with both of them, however, one of them is pressing me and using some hurtful words. Something similar to what you just said happened to me too.

A dude I met at a bar in Lagos just one time did some crazy stuff like that. He was a bouncer at the bar and asked for my number, I gave it to him and problems started from him just getting my number.

He started calling me, billing me initially with small demands like N10k, N20k etc. i was sending it to him. Suddenly he called and said he lost his bouncer job and was hoping he could work for me. I dont have any business in Nigeria, I'm based in the US, so I dont need a bouncer for anything. He said his wife was pregnant with their third childand he desperately needs income.

I understood his situation because Im a father too. I asked what he wanted me to do. He said he would appreciate it if I can help his wife start her clothing business again with N300k. That she sells clothes online from Lagos. I sent him the N300k. He thanked me and came back a couple of months later to beg for additional N200k for his wife to rent a shop with. I sent it to him.

Before i knew it, he came back telling me his wife is proud now and talks to him anyhow she likes because shes the only one making money and hes not making anything that I should help him start his business with N1m. I told him I couldnt just give him N1m just like that, that if I send him N1m I want him to pay back N800k, that N200k is my gift to him. He agreed he will pay N50k back per month to my wife's account till the N800k is paid off.

Back then, my wife was still in Nigeria, i was working on bringing her to the US to be with me. Dude only paid her N50k twice and locked up. I started calling him to ask for the rest of my money, in return he had his police friends calling my wife to come to the police station because this dude reported that me and her were harassing him over money he owes us. Imagine. Getting money from us was easy, paying back is harassment to him.

My brother ended up going to the station and had to sign an a document stating we will no longer borrher him because my wife had already joined me in the US.

I added up all the funds the dude had taken from me for himself and his wife. Around N2.2m in total. I only asked him to pay back N800k, he paid only N100k back and decided to involve police claiming me and my wife were harassing him.

Imagine owing someone and still calling police on the person you owe. I simply blocked him and im now very meticulous about people asking for help. So many of them are simply fraudsters that dont deserve any help at all.

Mehn, no be small thing oh, you really have a generous heart, sending a total amount of about NGN2.2m to a guy you barely knew. Let us even assume that you and your wife were harrassing him then, this thing was easier, he should have calll you personally and pleaded for understanding and timing too. I have done exactly that to two of my friends who loaned me 50k each to complete my house rent. I have called regularly for mercy. They know i am teacher only earning 50k They knew my take home is 50k, they also knew i was evicted from my house after a new owner bought it. Now, i really feel and know i am a debtor to these two kind friends..
I worry everyday, hoping to clear these debts from these friends. This is the fisrt time i am asking for such money from friends, i hope to pay back, even if it takes longer time.

This are Nice words but try hearing them when your rent is due, your mother is sick, your account balance is ₦842, your younger ones need school fees, and your phone is suddenly on airplane mode because too many people are calling for debt. Reality changes perspective very fast.

Let’s be honest with ourselves for once.
Money may not buy happiness directly, but lack of money can create a kind of stress that drains happiness from almost everything else.

Anybody that has stayed awake at night calculating bills understands this. Anybody that has entered a hospital in Nigeria without enough cash understands this. Anybody that has watched opportunities pass because transport money or application fees were missing understands this.

Even peace of mind behaves differently when money enters your life. Suddenly you eat better, sleep better, move better, think clearer, help more people, and breathe easier.

This is reality and no, this is not worshipping money. It is simply understanding the world we live in.

Even spiritual spaces run on finances whether people admit it or not. Churches need land, Mosques need maintenance and Outreaches need logistics.

Sound systems, generators, welfare, transportation, media equipment, all require money. Yes Prayer matters, faith matters and haracter matters. But pretending money is “not that important” is one of the biggest coping mechanisms people use against the pain of financial struggle.

In fact, many moral decisions people praise today become easier when basic needs are already covered.

Poverty pressures people psychologically. It can make intelligent people desperate, good people compromise, talented people abandon dreams, relationships become strained and Mental health suffers quietly.

This is why financial stability matters deeply. This is not because money makes someone superiorbut because survival itself has become expensive.

Want to eat healthy?
Money.

Want good healthcare?
Money.

Want stable electricity?
Money.

Want to relocate your parents from hardship?
Money.

Want to raise children properly?
Money.

Want freedom?
Most times, money is attached somewhere.

This is the painful truth many people avoid:

A lot of suffering in this country is not caused by lack of intelligence. It is caused by lack of financial breathing space.

So nobody is saying worship money blindly but stop romanticizing poverty. Stop acting like struggling endlessly is some badge of spiritual purity.

There is dignity in being financially stable.
There is peace in not panicking over every emergency. There is power in being able to solve problems without begging.

So yes, build character,have values,have faith,
have purpose. But also build income because in the real world, purpose without financial structure quickly turns into frustration.

Make money ethically, Learn skills, Invest wisely., Increase your value and Create opportunities for yourself because whether people admit it publicly or not, money quietly affects almost every part of adult life.

This is apt op, i just paid a new rent in another place cos the former place asked us to move out. I never had any money for new house. I went to my school management for 200k loan to be paid back for the next 8months from my salary(50k). 25k per month.
After back and forth, they gave 100k for 4months. I collected the money, rushed to the new place, paid the 150k and moved in.

I noticed that 10k, 20k, 15k, 40k naira can support your survival, but can never help you to solve mid to big problems. I want to learn something new, but i can't with a 50k salary. I am a real debtor like this. I don't even think straight. Now, i collect every private lesson, 5k.. My salary for the next few months no be my own.

I am a math teacher in a private school, the salary is 50k, as schools are on vacation, i dey site like this. The mallam there has two wives, the second wife and her three children stay in of the rooms in the uncompleted building . Just yesterday he told me to help talk to the owner of the building to consider building a zinc house in the compound for his wife and kids to move in when the house is completed. I said, ok, i will relate his concern to the owner. see young boys and older guys grinding on site for survival. Mehn, all i can say is, it is well.

Please, stop. Funds are always and promptly released to military, top military officials have their allocations readily available . It is one thing to blame the government when it comes to how they treat the average citizens but not the top military brass.

Tell us the competitive and attractive salary like papaNmandi asked, i might relocate, do you have house for staff or house allowance, i teach maths and marked over 400 scripts this last term alone, my salary is NGN50k in my current location. Make una dey hide attractive things if una want the best. If the salary is really attractive, just state it see the competition.

My passion for teacher is gradually fading,no pension plan for the school or anything, 50k, and i don dey old. The day you plan to leave the school, they only give you 2months salary, that is, if you notify them a month through writing before leaving. Before you get that two months salary, you would have spent minimum of 3yrs oh.
