I have spend much,now I want to start feeding them other household food,
will there be any effect on them when been fed with household food like growth and diseases?
they dnt like eating housefood I serve them but some neighborhood dog do eat other food not mongrel.

Seun: - Get a small cage/crate for the puppy (or a collar and chain).
- Make a decision about where you want the puppy to poop.
- Whenever your puppy is inside or in a place where pooping is not allowed, watch her closely.
- Whenever she start sniffing the ground, it may be a sign that she wants to poop. Take her outside immediately.
- If the puppy starts pooping while inside, immediately shout "STOP IT" and rush the puppy outside to finish up. No beating pls.
- If your dog poops inside, clean it thoroughly with bleach to remove the smell. Dogs like to poop where they've pooped before.
- When you take your dog outside to poop, wait patiently and point to where you want her to poop.
- If she poops outside in your presence, praise her and pet her immediately after she has finished pooping.
- The above step is important so your puppy understands that the problem is not pooping in your presence but pooping inside.
- If you are busy and can't watch her closely, take her outside to where pooping is allowed.
- If she must be inside, lock her in a cage or chain her inside with 0.5m to 1m of freedom (dogs don't like to poop where they rest).
- Note the times when the puppy is likely to want to poop (after eating/drinking, waking up, and playing) and take her outside.
- A very young puppy has to poop frequently, so you must take her outside regularly or let her be outside where pooping is allowed.
- The above steps apply to urination as well.

kuzee, your verandah is part of "inside" since you don't want her to poop there. Don't allow her on the verandah without strict supervision.

by the way how do u know the dog is a female?
the problem is at night,they roam about in the compound during the day,but kip them in my varandah at night to prevent them from cold and the likes,they always poo at night making mi cleaning thw tiles every day..is it safe to live a puppy outside at night?

Seun: My dog only knows two commands: "sit" and "down". I've been too busy (or lazy) to buy more hotdog treats and teach new commands, but when he wants anything - food, attention, freedom - I make him "sit" or go "down" or do both before giving it to him. Despite all our practice, sometimes, he still sits when I say "down" if he doesn't want to put his head down, or lies down when I say "sit" if he's tired and would rather lie down.

The next thing I'd like to teach him is to "stay" in position while sitting or lying down. I hope this will make it possible for him to "stay" indoors when I'm working. When he's indoors he keeps asking for attention, and once he stops getting it, he immediately wants to go out to work.

If the bitch gives birth, you are gonna retain one of the puppies, what happens to the other puppies in the litter? You will sell them off and they will grow up to producing "impurities" like them, thereby constituting in a large extent to the "National Association Of Crossbreeds"...I assure you that the origin of crossbreeds started from the activities of individuals who crave adventures like you. Please let's frown on this act...

Seun: Don't do it. When you cross dogs that don't look similar to each other, the resulting offspring usually looks weird and ugly. The result is not a perfect blend of the features of the parent. Rather, each puppy gets a random subset of the (visible and hidden) features of its mother and a random subset of the features of its father. So one of them may have the color of a rott, the face of a gsd, ears of a rott, GSD coat. Another might have the head of a rott and the body of a GSD or vice versa. And you would have to keep the ugly puppies or sell them very cheap.

To understand your intentions better so I can propose an alternative, I'd like you to answer the questions below:
1) Which features of a Rottweiler, that pure German Shepherds don't have, do you expect the mixed puppies to have?
2) Which features of a German Shepherd, that pure Rottweilers don't have, do you expect the mixed puppies to have?

you are absolutely right,i visit the net and saw some features in the dog in various part of the body,have been thinking about it,just becos rottweiler are so aggressive and muscular combining with gsd to make it more aggressive than the original gsd or rott..
that was my thought though and i was till thinking the price will be high only to hear it will be cheap..

Seun: If you like the parents' looks and their size and behaviour, buy the puppies. 100% purity doesn't matter much unless you plan to breed them.

Benbobola: Am an animal meat scientist and i have friends in animal genetics. Had some rabbits dat looked like new zealand whites but i had to be sure. so i took their blood samples and took them to the lab for analyzing for protein loci. This would help me determine the breed and ow far gone their breed is from the original new zealand white. This same procedure can be repeated for dogs dat are mutts and you are concerned about the origin. if u have time and money, u can try to do this. DNA mapping is expensive to do here in nigeria but calculating protein loci should help determine origin for a cheaper fee. Thank you!

That is why u demand to see d father n mother of a puppy cos dat is what d puppy will look like when it's grown. So bro, be calm and take d puppy , feed it well, train it, gauge d temprament and energy and u might av urself a fascinating dog.

To the guy that's talking about straight n slant back german shepered, well if truly you are obsessed with gsd. U should know that a gsd straight back does not mean it's not full breed oo. Gsd are either German working line ( straight back) or American show line( slant back) AKC, america kernel club standard only allows d slant back as real bread gsd but as the name read gsd is originally a german dog and it was used for its intelligence, strength and wonderful loyal temprament in d german world of old. The Germans still prefer d straight back, some people still prefer d slant back too. D slant back always develop hip problem later in life which never happens to d straight back. So do ur research well before confusing pple. A full gsd can be either line, but to be sure it's full, u check d temprament, energy, focus, loyalty, intelligence and of course color n appearance. If u take care of a 70% gsd it will come out better than a 100% gsd that was not well fed and taken care of. I have a gsd of my own and I love her. She is my everything, I do not joke with my dog.

Oh, by the way, she's 5 months n a week old. Big, strong, really cute , loyal, friendly, and trained to do 6 tricks, she is intelligent and when I got her I was told she is not full breed by people who claim they know gsd cos she is not slant back. Did my research and took excellent care of my dog and dose same breeders in my area are booking down for her puppies.

Eveezy: Prices of gsd varies according to the individual selling it, one can see a gud GSD from 30k upwards, like the pups I pics I attached, d straight back is sold for 40k, slant back 120k, and straight bk crosses with a slant is sold for 80k. Those re the last prices I mentioned, the dogs are not mine though, but I ve had several GSD in past years, but I currently have a male GSD nd I got him for 35k. Someone who is in need of money could sell @ any price he deems fit, I may not know so much about other breed of dogs 100%, but when u re talking of GSD, I would say they ve kinda been my obsession since childhood. Plus am not a breeder,I just keep dogs, several, have never breed any of my females,

I could have snap the mating pix if those dogs,I seem to wonder what breed is actually those dog coz my vet also said they are pure gsd.also if can at least show me the real predigree gsd puppies.I will also snap a clearer pix of the puppies
