The Police Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba on Friday gave reasons why it would be very difficult for the Nigeria Police Force to totally disband the operations, and activities of the Special Anti-robbery Squad, SARS.

Mba, who was a guest on Channels TV Sunrise Daily programme, said that it would be hard to end SARS because of the amount of investment that the government has made in setting up the police department and the very critical roles it is playing.

Recall that Nigerians across the country have been protesting the illegality and unconstitutional activities of SARS operatives.
According to Mba, SARS operatives also play a critical role in the fighting bandits, terrorists and other kinds of criminals in Nigeria.

He said: “If the #EndSARS hashtag is seen as a symbolic call for the reform of SARS, I would say clearly that the leadership of the NPF is in line and ready to work with those making that call.

“However, if the hashtag should be seen as a call for the total disbandment of SARS, I would tell you very clearly that it will be difficult for any responsible organization to work that path, taking into cognizance the amount of investment in training that government has made in setting up that department and the very critical roles it is playing.

“As a matter of fact, we have received a lot of calls from people particularly in states like Maiduguri, Yobe, and some other parts of the north where SARS operatives are deeply embedded in the fight against banditry, insurgency.

“And these people have made it very clear that ending SARS is not even an option for them because of the critical roles SARS operatives are playing in those areas, heavily on bandits, terrorists and other kinds of criminals.”

However, a Twitter account by the name “Big Brother Radio” came to shut those speculations down with hard proof from the actual graduating document from that year and Laycon was not the best graduating student.

7. He was as upset about the 2020 injustices as we were.

Proscribed group, Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), has bashed Pete Edochie after the veteran Nollywood actor raised alarm early this week alleging his life was being threatened after photos and video clips circulated, showing him playing a role that seemed like that of Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, leader of the IMN, who has been held in detention by the Nigerian Army since December 2015.


In the yet to be released movie produced by Anosike Kingsley Orji, the Islamic Movement in Nigeria was reportedly depicted as a terrorist organisation.





According to IMN, the movie titled “Fatal Arrogance” was sponsored by the "Nigerian Army to cover up the alleged December 2015 massacre of Shiites by soldiers where348 people were allegedly killed."




Early this week, following backlash of the movie by IMN members, Pete Edochie claimed his life was being threatened.

“I don’t understand what the IMN is driving at. The film we shot is not even out, it has not been edited, the production is not complete" Edochie said in the interview released by Sahara Reporters.

“If they have complained to the Inspector-General of Police, and the IGP says give me a copy of the film, what are we going to do because the film is not in existence yet, it is not in circulation.

“I am supposed to have played a role that ridiculed their boss, chief, whoever is in charge of their group.

“I am suggesting that you wait, keep your gunpowder dry, when the film is released, you can now make your grumbles known to the Inspector-General of Police.

“Whatever is being done now is premature, it is not proper.

“Fatal Arrogance, whatever it is, whatever it deals with, I think the best thing to do is to wait until the production comes out.”

"I did not write it, the film was produced by Kingsley Orji Anosike. If you want to express resentment over the production, which you have not watched, direct your grievances to the producer of the film not to Pete Edochie who is a mere actor, it does not concern me.

“I thank all those people who out of concern informed me of the campaign of deliberation of my person, the organised threat of my person by IMN, I thank you all. I’m a free born of Nigeria, I was born and raised in Nigeria. I’m not going to run away from Nigeria because a few individuals think they want things done in their own way.”


The IMN have now responded, saying Pete Edochie allowed himself 'to be used' and should stop wailing as he wasn't threatened. The group blasted the actor for his portrayal of shiites in the soon to be released movie.


The IMN also claimed the movie was similar to a book written by Kuanum Terrence, a 'military apologist'.


Reacting in a statement by Ibrahim Musa, its spokesperson, the IMN said the ace actor attempted to give IMN a bad name by attracting “cheap sympathy” from Nigerians with his narrative.


The sect also said that Edochie’s explanation was “inexplicable, his reasons flawed and his excuses unimpressive, irrational, and at best absurd”.

“The petition written by the IMN to the Inspector General of Police and the Film’s Censors Board doesn’t threaten anyone’s life. Issuing of threats has never been in our character,” the statement read.

“Pete Edochie should be honourable enough to accept that he allowed himself to be used to further vilify victims of one of the worst state-sponsored massacres of its citizens. He could still redeem his name as other actors in the ill-fated film are doing.

“If Edochie has any character as he claims, he would not have accepted to act any role in a film that seems to change the narrative and distort history based on a book distorting facts! If he had any integrity, he would not have accepted to appear in a movie tarnishing the image of an oppressed personality like Sheikh Zakzaky and still think he did nothing wrong because the Sheikh was not mentioned by name.

“Any serious artist worth the name must, first of all, undertake some kind of serious research to get the facts of any script brought to him right.

“Had he been bold enough to cross-check, he would have realized that genocide took place in Zaria in 2015 where over a thousand Nigerian lives were wasted by the sponsors of the film.

“He would have come across the very many attempts by the perpetrators to hide these heinous crimes, firstly by the burial of their victims in mass graves, an internationally recognized crime…

“He would have realized the matter is currently a subject of investigation by the International Criminal Court (ICC). The script before him is a continuation of that desperate attempt to distort facts.”

The senior special assistant to the governor of Lagos State on new media, Gawat Jubril announced through his twitter account the resumption date for both private and public schools in the state.

All public and private schools in the country has been on total lockdown due to the spread of the Coronavirus, and the government has been fighting tooth and nail to combat its spread and save lives. With the recent progress recorded in the area of the pandemic, coupled with the aim of returning children safely back to the classroom, the Lagos State government has carefully eased on the lock down, in accordance with national directives.

Taking to social media, Mr. Gawat jubril released the confirmed date for the resumption of Schools:

1. JSS 3 and SS2 students in public schools will resume on the 21st of September, 2020.

2. All private primary and secondary schools will also resume on the same day, 21st September 2020.

3. All pre-primary schools classes in both private and public will remain closed until further notice.

Primary schools in Lagos State will not resume on September 21, the state government said on Thursday, as it adopts phase re-opening of schools.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had said recently that primary and secondary schools in Lagos State would resume on September 21, but said the date would be tentative.

Special Adviser on Education to the Governor, Tokunbo Wahab, in an interview on Channels Television's breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, said even though it was announced that schools would reopen on September 21, it would be done in phases.

"Primary school will not open on 21st, those in primary six will be promoted to JSS 1 using their assessment, while those in SS2 and SSI will resume for few weeks and we see how it goes first and then JSS 3 and others. It is going to be a phase resumption," he said.

He said the phased resumption would begin on September 14 with tertiary institutions, starting with final year students.

Wahab said after their examination, those in penultimate year could resume.

"We will start with our final year students, we will not put all our students on campus at the same time. We have visited all the schools in Lagos State and we have put in place requirements that will enable them be safe. All will not come at the same time," he said.

Instagram went on a frenzy when Nollywood actress and skit maker, Etinosa Idemudia went completely naked during an Instagram live video session with singer, MC Galaxy back in 2019. The two were trending topic on social media for weeks


Here is what happened on the night of the drama. So, MC Galaxy who became popular on Instagram for his 2016 hit single,'Sekem'usually holds his Instagram live video with fans on Fridays told fans Etinosa will be joining his live video.

Etinosa who started out by producing skits after joining the live video told viewers on the Instalive video she wanted to exhibit her body.


She was saying in the video while stripping;

“I want to get naked. My boyfriend is here, I want him to go so that I can get naked. Guys hold on let me lock the door,” she said, drinking from a glass that seemed to contain alcohol.

MC Galaxy who wanted to disconnect was slammed by Etinosa. She said;

“MC if I slap you, open your eyes you dey craze. If you cut it (the Instalive video) I will cut you in life. Is it your body? It’s my body I want to exhibit my body. I want to be expressing my body.

“Some people are calling my phone, I want to be happy, my body is beautiful. I am comfortable showing my naked body. I am happy with my unclothedness.”


She practically removed everything she was wearing one by one while MC Galaxy and fans who logged in to the Instalive were enjoying the show.

MC Galaxy was however dragged on social media for intentionally continuing the live video even when he knew the actress could not be in her right senses going completely naked while thousands of people watch.


In defense, MC Galaxy said the whole thing was planned by the two of them but he didn't expect Etinosa to remove everything.

“I need to say the whole truth about this live video thing once and for all. The live video thing we planned it. I and Etinosa actually planned that stuff but I wasn’t happy the way the whole thing turned out to be on me alone,” he was quoted to have said.

“We planned it but we did not plan she would ”over naked” like that. She overdid it when she came on live video.”


Etinosa, however, took to her Instagram handle to accuse Galaxy of“lying to Nigerians”about the occurrence. She maintained that she was under the influence of alcohol at the time and never conspired the video.

“Stop lying to Nigerians. They are not stupid. This is the last I will say on this hurtful issue. It hurts me a lot and you can tell by the harsh stupid way I cursed an innocent child because his father won’t stop throwing it at my face,”Etinosa wrote, in a now-deleted post.

She also had an interview with Inside Nollywood where she said admitted that she was under the influence of alcohol however, there is nothing she can do to undo the deed. She also said she doesn't think the incident will affect her chances of getting married someday.


“It (the nude video) was (done) under the influence of alcohol. However, the deed has been done. I just had to keep quiet and move on. I can’t explain to everybody what really happened, after all, not everybody is intelligent enough to assimilate and understand certain things. I just had to keep calm and keep my head up high.

“I also don’t think it might affect my chances of getting married someday (laughs). Africa is so freaked about marriage. My dear, if marriage is in one’s destiny it will come.”

On the lessons she learned from the scandal, Etinosa said:“If you must drink alcohol, at least do have a friend you trust, who would be with you and seize your phone if things start getting out of hand. She also monitors you, so you don’t do anything stupid. Also, please know your gauge when drinking. Don’t presume you are fine and conscious of your environment. Simply put, drink responsibly.”


Recalling her growing up days, the Edo State-born entertainer revealed that she was a spoilt child who never lacked anything from her parents.

Etinosa started producing comedy skits In 2013. The skits enjoyed rave reviews, bringing her relative success in the Nigerian entertainment industry. She won the award for Best Online Comic Act at the 2016 Scream Awards.

In 2016, the actress enrolled at the Royal Arts Academy, Lagos, Nigeria, where she obtained a Diploma in Performing Arts, after which she quit her engineering job to pursue a full-time career in entertainment.


Her first movie role was a minor cameo appearance in A Little White Lie produced by Emem-Isong. She has featured in a number of notable Nollywood movies and TV series like Alter Ego, Chairman, Corpershun among others.

Four Nigerians in Muntinlupa City, Philippine have been arrested for alleged involvement in an international syndicate that hacks and siphons funds from banks.

However, the Nigerians denied the allegations.

The National Bureau of Investigation made this known in a statement on Tuesday, ABC CBN News reports.

The statement, which was written in Phillwas signed by NBI’s Cybercrime Division chief, Vic Lorenzo.

The investigative bureau claimed that “the fraudsters’ – Nigerians – transactions were traced when they hacked a system of one Philippine bank, where at least P100 million were transferred and funneled into a different account”.

It alleged that the Nigerians violated the Access Device Law, Anti-Cybercrime law, and falsification of public documents.



But the NBI in the statement failed to name the arrested Nigerians.

The statement read, “The international syndicate is complicated.. to the point that they study the system’s flaws. Once they see a weakness, they will take advantage of that.

“One of the suspects’ Filipina girlfriend admitted to having used her account to deposit and withdraw money amounting to at least P2 million, which was supposedly for tuition.

“Blank ATM cards and bank receipts were confiscated from the suspects.”

While denying the allegation, the Nigerians told ABC CBN that they were in the country to study, and they “know nothing about the hacking incident”.

“The funds withdrawn were donations from a Nigerian student community”, one of them said.

Kaduna spends N400,00 to treat each COVID-19 patient – El-Rufai

Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai on Monday said the government spends N400,000 to treat each COVID-19 patient.

El-Rufai made the disclosure at an executive meeting with traditional rulers in Kaduna.

“It costs about N400,000 to treat one coronavirus patient. They have to be isolated and fed. The cost of medicine has increased, even the personal protective equipment that the doctors treating them have to wear,” El-Rufai said.

When you add all this up, the average cost of treatment is over N400,000 per person. We have to bear the cost.”

He said when the state recorded over 300 cases in the first 75 days into the lockdown in March.


The governor noted that “the number of cases has risen to over 2500” since the lockdown was lifted in June” and stated that “the opening up has had consequences of spreading the virus.”

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the total number of COVID-19 patients in Kaduna State is currently 2208, with 2,095 recovered and 32 deaths.

The Lagos State Government in July said it spends an average of N100,000 daily to treat a COVID-19 patient, while it costs about N500,000 and N1 million to treat a patient with intensive COVID-19 case.

Like Kaduna, Lagos State said the cost of treatment includes feeding expenses, accommodation, equipment worn by health care workers and their services among others.

BBNaija 2020: Vee finally reveals to Laycon what she doesn’t like about Erica


Big Brother Naija season 5 ‘lockdown’ housemates, Laycon and Vee, were spotted in the kitchen having a discussion about disqualified housemate, Erica.



Laycon had told Vee that he found Erica’s earrings in the Head of House lounge, and Vee who has never hidden her dislike for Erica, showed no interest to talk about her.

According to Vee, she doesn’t see why Laycon talks about Erica because he ”deserves better”. She went on to say ”God forbid” and added ”You can’t bring any stupid girl to me and say you like her”

Laycon then asked Vee what she doesn’t like about Erica and she responded saying;

“She doesn’t know how to think for herself. She is weak, hers was bad”.

When Laycon tried to put up a defense for Erica that everybody is “weak”, Vee responded;

“You will always make up an excuse for this girl and that is why I believe you were jazzed. You were jazzed. Now you have been vindicated. You have been vindicated. Yes I said it. Thank you lord”

At some point, Vee started choking due to the smell from the Onion she was cutting. She went on to ‘blame’ Erica for what had happening ” She can hear me” ”Oluwa oo!” Vee said
