Religion / Re: How Should Christians/believers Defend Themselves From Attack And Violence? by kwamesd(m): 8:55am On Sep 25, 2023
For Christians, prayer is a top priority. However, there are many ways to pray, and prayer is not limited to language alone; action is also a form of prayer. Therefore, in the face of the realities set by God, leaving those places filled with conflict and danger is the most powerful prayer to the Creator.

Friend, not all Christians are believers, not all believers are Christians

Politics / Re: Despite ₦‎2.8 Trillion Subsidy, Power Averages 3,000MW In 10 Years by kwamesd(m): 8:06am On Sep 25, 2023
Omobude244:

Nigeria can never unite
The North will always bring religious sentiments
The west will come with their tribal wahala

Don't lose heart, take a long-term view. One year, ten years, or even a hundred years, there are always more solutions than difficulties.

Policies always foreshadow a bright future, but the question is how to implement them. Otherwise, they won't have any effect, just like the moon in the water—visible but out of reach.

The African re-awakening has to continue, unfortunately its coming from the boots because our democratically elected leaders are nothing but pawns in the Westernern chess game. France has no natural resource but has ruthlessley plundered Africa for decades and continues to do so. The scale is so bewildering even for the 21st century. The Congo has to do same and expel Belgium & their co-looters.
The irony with Niger is Americans also have a base in Niger but those ones have small sense, they run it in partnership with Nigeriens

This is not the world of twenty years anymore.Africa is Africa for Africans, not for France or the United States

Celebrities / Re: My Son Will Give Mohbad’s Son N100,000 For A Year – Tonto Dikeh by kwamesd(m): 10:27am On Sep 22, 2023
FreeBiafra2018:
Good, but what I don't understand is why some of these celebrities and politicians suddenly rushing to use Mohbad's death to gain attention and relevance.

Indeed, such motivations do exist, but the results are quite positive, aren't they?

If she can profit from charity, perhaps others will emulate her and see her as a role model. For those in need of help, this isn't a bad thing.
Properties / Re: My Fight With My Landlord by kwamesd(m): 10:15am On Sep 22, 2023
Don't just express wishes without taking action, my friends.

Some principles apply throughout all of human society.

Your wish: To continue staying in this house.

The landlord's demands: Compensation for damages and vacating his property.

Now, let's think about two questions: Why is he angry? Why does he want you to leave?

He's angry because you didn't notify him in advance when dealing with his property, as the landlord said, you should have approached the agent to address the issue. He wants you to leave because your behavior has damaged his private property without showing the appropriate remorse. He's concerned that you might continue causing damage in the future.

So, what should you do? First, propose compensation to your landlord, even exceeding the original value. Don't worry; you won't be at a loss since you really want to continue living there, right?

Second, express your apologies promptly and provide a written explanation, stating how you will handle similar situations and compensate in the future.

In summary, after doing these, leave the rest to God. Hopefully, your family can peacefully resolve this issue.
Nairaland / General / Re: Welcome, New Nairalanders by kwamesd(m): 7:42am On Sep 22, 2023
I'm Kwame, and I'm not sure if that name is wrong, someone just mentioned it's Ghanaian.

Well, actually, I'm just a Chinese person. I lived in Lagos, Nigeria from 2017 to 2019.

It was indeed a completely different time, like another world, with entirely different people and surroundings.

During those two years in Lagos, I got to know Africa again, got to know Nigeria again, and got to know myself again.

Kwame is Ghananian.

LOL

Here's how it happened. The first time I needed a name, I wanted GPT to give me one, preferably with a touch of African style.

AI suggested many names, but I chose the first one, which is Kwame.
Travel / Re: Nigerians Abroad. Share Your Experience With Racism And Discrimination by kwamesd(m): 4:27pm On Sep 21, 2023
As a Chinese person, I should tell everyone that I've witnessed a lot of injustice and discrimination. In the past century, Chinese people have experienced such things, and now, some Chinese individuals are applying this discrimination to other third-world countries.

Yes, "third world." At the beginning of China's founding, the people of the vast Asian, African, and Latin American regions helped China reclaim its rightful seat in the United Nations. At that time, almost every Chinese person was filled with enthusiasm for internationalism.

However, today, this communism and internationalism, which used to breathe alongside the world, are gradually fading among the general populace. If one's success comes at the cost of sacrificing ideals, then it's better to be unsuccessful.

Well, I'm not here to complain about my own country. I just want to make a point to all my friends. There has always been one person discriminating against another, never one group discriminating against another group. Some people like you, some dislike you, some respect you, and some discriminate against you... It has always been a matter of one person versus another.

It's just that there are so many people in this world that we sometimes mistake them for another group full of malice.

In any case, I hope you don't lose heart. The light is ahead, so walk your path confidently, and let others say what they want.

Family / Re: My Mom Doesn't Appreciate Me. How Do I Handle This? by kwamesd(m): 4:15pm On Sep 21, 2023
This is not your fault, and it's not your mother's fault either. It's a mistake made by society and past eras. Often, a person becomes just like their parents after becoming parents themselves. Of course, this isn't always the case.

But there comes a point, a moment when one becomes like their past parents, always repeating the cycle of the previous generation.

A person's life is always profoundly influenced by their childhood experiences. Your mother doesn't not love you; she just might not know how to express it. Don't blame her.

The gift card business is often significantly influenced by the prevailing exchange rates, so crypto are considered relatively stable.
