Xisnin: Fashola is 100% wrong. He is a lawyer. Don't listen to medical illiterates, listen to real experts or read medical and research literature.
Virus are far more fragile than bacteria. Any solution(sanitizer or not) with 70% alcohol will destroy any kind of virus. Lower concentration sanitizers will also destroy viruses if used in sufficient quantities. Thank you very much, Fashola should concentrate on his legal turf and only give legal opinion not medical or scientific declarations.. The coronavirus is an enveloped virus, very susceptible to detergents and alcohol. It only becomes 'boss' when it invades the body system and develops into millions of progenies in the human cells. |

Many of us have to look for our daily bread on daily basis, enter bus & go to the market. If work should stop for months, will employers pay salary Abeg buy garri and two cartons of indomie and keep at home. A total lock down is coming soon whether we like it or not. |

There is a Public health In-Vitro Diagnostics testing laboratory ran by Medical Laboratory Scientists Council of Nigeria developed to certify imported and local manufacture kits with high-end equipments.
The FG should mobilize Scientists who are specialists in Medical Microbiology, Immunogy, Virology to that develop the testing kits in that laboratory.
There is a great feeling that we are currently undertested for the virus in this country, while the carriers keep spreading the virus everyday. |

Becarefully what you wish for others. I said it too but I am still alive? And I am sure buhari will die before me. It is natural for old geriatics to die before younger ones. This should be their payback for the years of neglect by our policy makers...It's actually a time for them to have a VOICE and negotiate for the improvement of medical services in the country I agree with you, the Physicians should not treat them, the Scientists should not test them, let them spread it within their family and die with it, the Nurses should refuse them care, the pharmacists should refuse to give them drugs. Let the health system be shut to these criminal kleptocrats, they should go to UK and treat themselves. Only poor people should be given attention. |

Our cost of oil production is somewhat about $30/barrel, which means we are practically just selling Oil at a loss.
What's worst is that, we have no cushion in our reserves to handle this shock and now we are fazed with low revenues.
These Saudis are ready to play dirty together with Russia as they learnt from there lessons in 2015 and stored enough for the next oil crash.
I won't be suprised if china is capitalizing in this Covid19 and the Oil fight to stack up very cheap Oil enmass
Naija no dey ever learn lesson from the past, all we know is share share share consume! If Nigerians are sensible, they should capture Oshiomhole and stone him to death for opposing and harrassing Okonjo Iweala when she advocated for build up reserves during her time as Minister of Finance who had foresight. Oshiomhole protested against her and swore that the money must be shared. Today we are in the woods with a depleted foreign reserve. What lesson did we learn in the last recession? Nothing. Monkeys and baboons who lack foresight like Oshiomhole should be banned from holding any political post ever again in the country. |

yungEX: LabDNA please I have a question I need help . I know you're a doc nd I've been looking for someone to ask. My babe had a medical abortion with mifepristol and misprostol on the 27th of Feb. (She had her period in the beginning of February) she bled normally. However, blood tests are still showing positive while transvaginal ultrasound shows theres nothing there. Do you please have any idea when her period will return or when we can expect to see negative when she does blood test?? I hope you reply. Thanks Sorry for the late response. Was on call duty. When a lady is pregnant there is a hormone produced during the period of pregnancy, it is called the Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (HCG). That hormone can be detected sensitively in the blood and urine. Infact it is what we test for in the laboratory (qualitatively and quantitatively) during pregnancy test as Medical Scientists in the laboratory. Now people usually think that once they do an abortion and a scan tells them the pregnancy is no longer viable, the blood test result should become negative immediately. No that's not true. Even after an abortion, the results of the blood pregnancy test will still remain positive for a good period of time because the HCG pregnancy hormones are still present in the lady's blood plasma and will take some weeks to clear off her blood stream. |
