The effect on the income of the goods(x)=30%*40% which is same as 70/100*140/100=9800/10000
since we need the effect in percentage we re-write as 98/100 which is same as 2% reduction since it's lower than 100...hope this helps.

You can try thru google or jamb site....for easy access,type statistic for utme 2013 on google...it's in pdf format,i downloaded it on pc not sure if u can access it thru phones buh smart phone might work.
