JustCalMeDBoss: Our generation starting to understand we have been scammed Real scam. I met a friend of mine who resigned from her banking job to go for her MSc in the UK. I asked her why she didn't stay back there to secure a job and she gave me a frank analysis of the situation. According to her, there are about 3-4 categories of competition in her class. 1. The white British citizen who is brilliant in class 2. The black British citizen who was born and bred in the UK, also brilliant in class 3. The black Nigerian like herself who left Nigeria for the purpose of her MSc, also brilliant in class 4. Other non British citizens from all over the world who like herself have also come for their MSc. At the end of the day, they all get to apply for the same jobs and the screening begins. So she would rather get her degree there and come back to Nigeria to hustle with it while also applying for jobs outside Nigerian shores. The typical mentality seems to be that any foreign 'pali' is better than the best Nigerian 'pali'. I was at a career talk given by Dr. Wasiu Odufisan, a senior recruiter for ExxonMobil and he said recruiters have come to understand that most students now know how to pass exams and have first class degrees while not really understanding what it takes to add value to a company. He lamented so much on the situation. I feel for the guy/lady who has gone abroad to acquire a certificate for the purpose of getting a job in Nigeria. They may just realise that they were under an illusion at the end of the day. Virtually nothing is guaranteed in this world we live in, talk less of Nigeria. |

NairaQuest: This is a very poor policy. Those affected will resort to the black market to get the dollar they need and that will put pressure on the naira. I see the Naira trading at 250 to the dollar by December
The price of uncle ben's rice will increase and the prices of the other affected items and thar may fuel inflation
Unless there is an alternative for those things, Nigerians are in for a bad season The margin between 222 and 250 is too small. I see it getting closer to 300 by December if this memo is not reversed. |

OP, thank your stars o. When I was in the banking industry, a senior staff at interswitch had a nasty experience. His account was debited via ATM a few mins to 12 on Friday night, then a few mins after 12 on sat morning.
The account was debited a few mins to 12 on sunday night and a few mins after 12 on Monday. 4 good transactions over the weekend.
Unfortunately for him, no branch was open where he could lodge a complain for the account to be blocked and all the while, his ATM card was with him.
Fraudulent transactions like that brought about the switch from magnetic stripe cards to chip cards. |

kennygee: Cameras don't lie.
Ask them if it's an ATM withdrawal or a counter withdrawal.
If u get the time, tell them to show you camera footage. Most of those cameras Dont save images. |
