Obiagelli: Wednesday, 28 February, 2001, 13:51 GMT Now Bauchi adopts Sharia Another state in northern Nigeria, Bauchi, has adopted Sharia, or Islamic, law. The governor, Adamu Muazu, signed the Sharia bill into law on Tuesday. Bauchi is the tenth northern Nigerian state either to adopt Sharia law, or announce its intention to do so, despite opposition from Christians and human rights groups. Several of the states maintain that the law will not be applied to Christians. Last year, hundreds of people were killed in Kaduna, when rioting broke out after Christians opposed the introduction of Islamic law there. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service

Politics › Re: Guess What I Just Watched On CNN Now? by lacasa: 10:31am On Dec 26, 2014 |
sandijey: That's not enough reason to blame igbos na. Yes GEJ has been very devisive and made some very wrong statements but they have the right to choose who ever they want. My own problem is if they are not safe in the north, they are not safe either in the west and it will rub off on minorities like us. During that pogrom that they killed igbos anyhow, there was no technology. Now that there is Facebook and all kinds of social media including nairaland. Am so afraid. It has further divided us. The worst part is nobody really knows who is visiting sites or even posting. So when when igbos say stuff about yorubas and u no ur people are doing business in their land or say stuff about hausas and ur people are in their land in thousands. The situation is dicy and worrisome. Election is coming and some people are at their form looking for who to kill and easy preys. We all need to be careful. As I said in my 1st comment, wat u r seeing happening to the ibos in those parts u mentioned is wat is termed an Unintended Consequence off GEJ's callous politicking Once u mix politics wt ethnic permutations n allow certain folks from ur tribe to talk anyhow eg Asari, Akpabio wt disregard, the fallout is wat u r seeinng today. I hope it doesn't escalate further. |

Na God go save us cus when the chips are down yorubas and hausa might not no d difference between itshekiri and igbo.
What I don't understand is why are they trying to heap the blame on igbos. I mean how did they even come into the mix. They are just looking for ways to start another killing. The way things are e go better make people start to dey invest in their region o It started wen GEJ was playin divisive politics and the Ibos were blindly adding fuel to a dangerous fire that may consume us now. I wonder y Ibos r blinded by this man (Gej) to all common sense whereas even the South-South people dnt support him that way Well, its Change sha GMB/PYO 2015 to bring bk Sanity |

In terms of management Pro-Jonathan at the helm has seen a downwards spiral. 4more years of this mangers is not the best option for a growing economy facing hard times. PDP has failed already. Let Ali no think that rigging mechanism he is notorious for will win tthe day for them this time around. From Kaduna to Kebbi down to borno, there are nno posters of Goodluck Jonathan nor does any bagger dare campaign openly for him. The politics of ethnicity and religion GEJ and PDP adopted to fool majority in 2011 is noww coming back to bite them in the butt. I can categorically state that GEJ is seen as Osama Bin Laden was seen in the USA in 2011. Even mere mentioning his name is a taboo to us, cos most of the poor masses believe if he is not allowing the crisis in the North-East and Kano to continue for political gains, they believe he is anti-north!.
