Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State is adhering to his firearms to the extent his choice to flame more than 21,000 educators in the state. In a meeting on Channels Television's News At 10 on Thursday, the Governor clarified why he is persuaded he is making the best decision, in spite of the challenges and feedback the move has pulled in.

he said

"This is a problem that we confronted within months of coming into office and we took extraordinary measures to steady the situation. We knew they would be a resistance but for us, education is one of the foundational components of building a modern society and we are not going to compromise on the quality of education and the quality of education relies on the quality of the teacher more than any other tool or infrastructure. We are investing in all of these and investing in the teacher is one of the most important one. We knew that they will be resistance; any attempt to improve a bad system meets resistance and we know that trade unions are not interested in national interest, they are interested in promoting the narrow interest of their members. So we knew that all these would happen but we are ready for it"

he also added that

"We have effectively taken second, third and fourth takes a gander at this circumstance. We have contemplated what past governments have attempted to do and there is no backpedaling. I have definitely no doubt as far as I can say that we are not going to switch our choice; these educators are gone, we will utilize new instructors. The way toward testing and talking the 25,000 educators we are procuring to supplant the 21,780 that we have let go is on and we will proceed with it. As I stated, it is the offspring of poor and common individuals of Kaduna State that go to government funded schools. The Spiritual Leader of the Tiv People, Paul Iorpuu Unongo, yesterday January 11th, gave the Federal Government two weeks final offer to end the killings in Benue State, undermining that indigenes of the state would raise an armed force of million people to protect themselves. Unongo gave the notice amid the mass internment of the 75 people murdered in the New Year day and January 6th herdsmen assaults in two groups in the state.

I am revealing to Nigerians that my kin can't keep on being gun grub for this nation. As I was whistling this morning, going through my Instagram page, I stumbled on this picture and I decided to skrrrrrrhh on it, this lady @festina_p says she is thinking of what to do if you break her heart.. then it got me thinking. She uploaded a picture of what she's going to do if a guy cheats on her. She's just practicing it, seems like a bit or a whole lot of madness to me.
First of all, the guy won't feel a thing if that happens, because, for him to go out to cheat on you it definitely means there's something lacking in your relationship, and you cutting yourself with a knife won't make things get better, the only thing that may happen is you getting uglier. So why don't people start settling relationship matter in a smart way rather than the violent way. I believe it will help relationships better.
And whereas "man third leg" no dey rest, and the ladies should know that.

Covenant wins Nigeria Media Award for Employment, Job Creation, Delivering a lecture titled, ‘Are we ready for Future Work? The Nigerian University Perspective’, at the 2017 Gidijobs Summit, the Vice-Chancellor, Covenant University, Professor AAA. Atayero, represented by the former Dean, College of Business and Social Sciences, Professor Isaiah Olurinola, noted that labour, being a major asset, was faced with lots of factors that impinged on job creation, thus causing contraction and moving over a million people, on an annual basis, into the unemployed group.

Professor Atayero stated that the consequence of the digital revolution and technological advancement will continue to impact negatively on job growth. According to him, “While Artificial Intelligence and ICT advancement will keep eroding old jobs, it will at the same time create new ones, though with a higher dimension of skills levels”.

He stated that the decline of jobs, due to rapid advancement in technology, has contributed phenomenally to improvement in productivity, leading to a reduction in the proportion of the wage bill in total value added.

Professor Atayero posited that concepts such as creative destruction and innovative disruption have direct bearing on the future of the work place. “This process, incessantly on all fronts, revolutionises the economic structure from within, destroying the old one, creating a new one. This process of Creative Destruction is the essential fact about capitalism,” he said.

The professor of Communication Engineering noted that major disruptors in the education industry, as well as the labour market, are digital revolution and Artificial Intelligence (AI), which unarguably have been identified as being responsible for changing the nature and context of jobs and skills.

He noted that there are both optimistic and pessimistic views with respect to the relevance of the University System in preparing graduates for future works. However, he was of the view that AI can only cut the jobs, replace them with another form of jobs, and not eliminate human resource in the workplace.

Professor Atayero highlighted some of the strategies that universities can put in place to get their graduates ready for future work. These, according to him, include curriculum review to meet the current realities of the labour market; establishing industrial linkages; community engagement where they are located, to stay relevant; concentration on skills that are not easily automated in every programme offered by universities; and developing a hybrid of On-line and On-Campus programmes.

He espoused to the audience Covenant’s unique cultures that have over the years helped her graduates to emerge workplace ready with an entrepreneurial mindset, which has always given them an edge over their contemporaries from other institutions of learning in the this part of the world.

This will be the second employability related award that Covenant University will be carting home in 2017. It will be recalled that Stutern, a Lagos-based startup and an online platform that carries out studies on employment in Nigeria and Nigerian universities, had in its 2016 edition of 'The Nigerian Graduate Report' publication ranked Covenant University Number One in the list of Nigerian universities (both private and public) with the Most Employable Graduates.

I and my friend were in Kuto last week about to take a bus to Abeokuta, then came this little pretty girl, I am not really sure what country she is from, then she held me by the hands and started calling me "my husband", i was like wow. she didnt want to leave my hand, she kept on saying "my husband, you no wan give me money abi", then after sometime, i and my friend removed some change and gave it to her.
the point really is that this girl is damn pretty. Thank God my friend was with his camera, he took some amazing photos of the little girl
when she realized we were taking pics of her, she became shy and covered her face, the photo was still good though, see more photo below
My issue here is that why do their parents leave them to go out there to beg, don't they know their worth?

All I can say about this is that God is good. This woman and her kids were driving along Benin Ore road and saw a ditch and wanted to dodge it, and their car summersaulted and both her and her kids step out of the car without any scratch.

6 fulani herdsmen related to the new year killings have been arrested today in Benue state. Report from the police is that The suspects are being arraigned at a Chief Magistrate Court
1 sitting located at Makurdi the state capital, before the Chief
Magistrate, Isaac Ajim.
The herdsmen killed a total 20 people which included a pregnant woman.

A very cute baby was yesterday, rescued from the hands of
kidnappers/traffickers.. According to reports shared by a
Facebook User, Iromuanya Classy Nma, who says her sister-
in-law is a police officer, the baby was brought home and
catered for.
Now, they’ve shared pictures of the baby on social media,
with hopes that the baby will be reunited with her family.
She wrote; “Help find the mother of this baby, she was
rescued from baby traffickers yesterday. My sister in-law
who is a police officer brought her home to bath and
change her.
