berem: Not again this year! family matters like these should be resolved amicably without going public. what kind of show of shame is this? Ojukwu will never be happy with this kind of harassment towards his wife. smhOjukwu is already facing his maker so that's the last thing on his mind. Secondly didn't he leave a will? Where there is money there will always be dispute, especially within wills. |
Well done wizkid At 21 or 22 u own your own home ! I know people here who would give a left tit or nut to do that. L̳̿Ö̤̣̇☺ː̗̀(=)))ː̖́☺Ö̤̣̇L . Well done bro, God bless you. You are hardworking and a star, you deserve every blessing. |
onila: obviously the bestIts not obvious. Far from it, unless for you mediocrity is a virtue. Third biggest in volume doesn't mean much, for example Nigeria is the most populous black nation..... Check the parallels and you will find that quality indeed trumps quantity. |
Blackbody20: Bros! No allow sentiment kill u. I mean, are u a Nigerian at all? How on earth ll u claim that the western world didnt receive our music? Many of our local artiste have had tours both in UK and US.(google it) They have even featured the top acts in the world of music. I know and am sure dat u re not updated thats why ur mind is filled with delusive claims.Bros the OPERATIVE word is HEADLINING tours, not just participating in them Please read carefully and provide evidences of where Nigerian acts headlined tours in Europe and US where 20000 people were in audience and more. Thirdly well received will be shown in the major awards when the quality is perceived to be right, I'm talking Grammys et al Lastly this thread was for movies wasn't it? |
PurpleBrown is the closest to answering the question. Secondly I thought we had the AMAAs (African Movie Academy Awards) to reward achievements in music, sound, acting, plot, cinematography, editing, directing etc. Why don't we all do some research and find out that Nigeria pales in the award winners, compared to other African acts overall dating back to a few years (we dominated till recently). Last year 'how to steal 2 million' a SA movie won for best movie and director. Nigeria however won in short film and documentary categories.Adesuwa particularly won awards in 'non major cats'. Majid won best actor while Rita Dominic won for actress. In terms of quality we are not, however work from Mirror Boy, Ije, the figurine shows promise. Having said that this pales when comparing to movies such as Tsotsi and district 9 (south african). In the early days Nigerian actors , actresses etc dominated the awards but as we have seen increased funding into movie production in other places without a corresponding effect in ours, its no mystery why the tide has changed. To conclude Tsotsi, a South African production won the OSCAR for best foreign language film in 2005. It was shot with $3million dollars. You can't honestly compare that to 'my inlaw parts 1 and 2. Can you? |

IYA NGBALI: na lie, yours na beef, bad belle of the highest orderNo be only beef, na kpomo That's how I feel, however I am aware it counts for nought come May 2013 Let's reconvene then, shall we? |
Congratulations in order. Well done bro. |
WHAT DO YOU SEE ?

Why can't the sign be a bit higher so all and sundry can see it (above any makeshift umbrella). OP well done for letting us know. A word is enough for the wise. |
This is why medical insurance is key, especially in that industry. Efforts have been made by the leaders to gather all together but unsuccessful thus far. I pray the money is donated and she regains her once vibrant health. |
sapien: Veron in USA 94? Guy, you are suffering from delusion of grandeur!I'm not Made a mistake. Apologies. Veron joined the team later.remove and substitute with batistuta or cannigia. |
omar22: I cant remember El Hadj Diouf (2x), Frédéric Kanouté or Mustapha Hajji winning a league title or might be wrong!!! Jay Jay missing out had a a lot to do with Nigeria voting against Hayatou for the FIFA presidential postyou may have a point as I cannot rule out politics. Its everywhere ! However Diouf won the league cup for liverpool, and won the league for rangers last year ( albeit long after he won african footballer of the year). Diouf was rewarded for being a key player when senegal reached the QF in the world cup, beating france Tdefending champions) on the way in their first attempt. As for kanoute, he won a lot more. He's a double UEFA cup winner for sevilla for starters.he also won copa del rey 2ce and UEFA super cup once. Didn't win the league but won important trophies.he scored 23 goals in 39 apps for mali and scored more beautiful goals with various clubs. Hadji's own was based on the 1998 world cup where he was one of the best footballers. |
omar22: Wow people treated this award like the Oscar's when Jay Jay missed out on the main award but won the BBC awardtrue. JJ's inability to win the league in his career affected him in winning top accolades imho, compared to lesser talents who won more. |
If to say na any of our relatives dey the copter I doubt there would be time for posting rumours and bland jokes...... Let's respect the dead please |
mama-gee:You are right, that's why no Nigerian made the shortlist Its a shout between Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure. For Drogba's big match play I'd back him to win it. That said Yaya was a beast and vital to Man City winning their first EPL. Droba for me. |
Red-Light:true. This is probably the last chance for the super ivorians to win the AFCON. Talent all over the team. |
No one really cares about this award. The main one is the CAF backed award (jan or feb). |
bashy_demy: see T.B Joshua oooI reject am o. Mine no be prophecy....na gut feeling. |

vivian chinaza: Is this ur definition of a big girl? Guy big girls are chicks who boast of what they can afford with their hard earned money, genuine money. And they don't shout.I have to agree |
Well deserved One of the great footballing moments of 2012 |
caukerzee: @LADESKI, firstly, my apologies for attacking your personality, i guess i was too quick to judge. Now back to the argument. You cited an example with michel jordan and how he helped the chicago bulls and also how they fell when he left, revived when he came back. Well let me put it to you that football and basketball are entirely two different sports. From physicality to technique...etc. Having said that, individual brillance of a very good player in a mediocre team, only goes as far as helping the team when the opponent with better quality plays badly. An example would be falcao against barca yesterday. He was a very big threat against the barca defense and eventually scored when he was not handled by the defenders properly. But in the second half when that mistake was corrected he was pretty much invincible through out the match. You also talked about argentina playing badly when maradona was banned. If you watch barca games you would agree with me that with all their quality, without messi they find it hard and struggle to score, but that doesnt mean any of the other players are less good as they are when he is playing. Peles brazil at that time was the best team, funny enough he wasnt even highest goal scorer in any of those world cups. I still stand by what i say, it takes a team to win, individual quality only an added advantage. Messi is a great player, he is just unfortunate not to have a good team around him in the argentina NT.Accepted. I agree you require a cohesive unit to win championships but I hope you agree with me that this barca team is perhaps the best team we have seen in the last 20 years. Guardiola's barca won 14 trophies during 4 years! One season D̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥ won 6 ! Now messi is instrumental to that success with his goals and ability to raise above his mates in tight knit games. The only 2 times he was neutalised (inter and chelsea) barca wasn't able to prevail in the CL. I don't totally agree that argentina isn't a good team. Remember D̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥ lost to the same team in 2 consecutive world cups, suggesting tactical ineptness. A team that has aguero, tevez, messi, higuain, lavezzi, di maria, zabaleta, mascherano, maxi rodriguez isn't a bad team at all. Secondly you state that pele's team was the best. I'm an avid follower of history and can assure you only the 1970 team was adjudged to be the best. The teams of 58 and 62 were not. Pele was almost 30 at the 1970 world cup so the world saw him win it as a prodigous 17 year old, a blossoming 21 year old and a mature 29 year old. Also though b ball and football are different the analogy rings true. Finally messi hasn't been injured or out of form for a very very long time so its difficult to say how much barca would struggle. To cap this post remember that a messi less spain swept everything from 2008 till 2012, a feat never accomplished before. That said it shows how great xavi, iniesta, busquets, fabregas are (without messi). |
caukerzee: As i said earlier, football is a team sport not an individual sport. It is a team that wins games and trophies not just a single player. Argentina only has a good attack no defense and no mid field. Messi just one player among others. He cannot be the mid feilder to produce the chances and at the same time be the defender to stop the attacks and at the same time be the goal keeper to stop the goals. He is just one player and cannot multiply himself into 11. During peles time, he was just a player among other great players, he did not win those trophies alone. Anyway, you are just a hater, so i dont expect you to know this.Number 1 attack my position and not my personality, what's with the hater ? Now back to your response. While you are accurate in stating that football is a team sport and not an individual sport like tennis, you have failed to add that even in team sports you have individuals that transcend the sport. A fantastic example is the great michael jordan. Though he played for chigaco bulls and won 6 rings (alongside his mates), his INPUT was so critical and vital that when he retired hakeem olajuwon and the houston rockets won the league. Guess what? When he came back bulls won again an rockets never smelt it again ! Read up on his stats. Thirdly messi has to find a way to uplift the players around him. Maradona had almost an angelic ability to do this. I remember in usa 94 against us when maradona was suspended for doping, you could see veron and co shattered. No surprise that argies were knocked out after. Messi is a great plauer but has to find a way to do it for argentina Till then apples and oranges. |
