After spending 174 days in detention in both Police cell and Calabar prison, journalist, Agba Jalingo has been granted bail by Justice Sule Shuaibu of the Federal High Court, Calabar.

He was reportedly incarcerated by Gov Ben Ayade of Cross River State for demanding the whereabout of the #500m naira meant for the Cross River Micro-Finance project.

The fourth prosecution witness, (PW4), Enu Matthew Obun, has testified in the trial of Instagram celebrity, Ismaila Mustapha, A.K.A. Mompha on Wednesday at a Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos.

A member of the House of Representatives, Akin Alabi, is trending on social media Twitter over the amount approved by President Muhammadu Buhari for the renovation of the National Assembly complex.

First Bank Nigeria, PLC has lauded the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Army for their prompt response in foiling an attempted robbery of a branch of the bank in Mpape area of Abuja.

Organized Labour has said it was ready to go to war with any governor that fails to implement the N30,000 minimum wage and the consequential adjustment that follows for workers in their respective states.

Recall that on April 18, 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari signed the new minimum wage Act into law. Six months after the signing of the act into law, the Federal Government and organised labour, agreed to 23.2 percent increase for workers on level seven and 20 percent for workers on level eight. In contrast, it decided on 19 percent increase for workers on level nine.

Both the government and organised labour also agreed on 16 percent salary increase for workers on levels 10 to 14 and 14 percent increase for workers on levels 15 to 17.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, yesterday in a radio broadcast, said the greatest mistake made by former President Goodluck Jonathan in his administration was the removal of the former Chief of Army Staff (CAS), Lt Gen Azubike Ihejirika.

Kanu, who stated this during a broadcast on Biafra Radio alleged that Northern Nigeria formed Boko Haram insurgents to fight former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Jonathan during their respective administrations.

The animosity between the immediate past governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, and the lawmaker that represented Zamfara Central District in the Eighth Senate, Kabiru Marafa, seems not to be ending soon after the election.

Delta Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa has condemned Tuesday’s attack on Otuoke home of former President Goodluck Jonathan in Bayelsa State.

The attack left a soldier dead while two gunmen were downed by the soldiers as well.

Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike has stated that the Soku oil wells belong to the state in line with a Supreme Court judgment.

Wike disagreed with his Bayelsa State counterpart, Seriake Dickson, who said ownership of the oil fields was yet to be determined.

Wike noted that the Federal High Court judgment, which transferred Soku oil wells in Oluasiri, a disputed boundary, to Rivers State, validated a Supreme Court judgment on the matter.

Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akjeredolu has promised that he will continue to attend to the yearnings of the people.

The Senate has suspended order 13 on its Standing Orders to enable it to sit on Friday to conclude its legislative business before adjourning for the Christmas and New Year break.
