most abortions actually take place before 3 months...that's when a simple injection,
some pills or d & c are effective. after the 3rd month, the woman would go through
induction abortion where must deliver the baby prematurely.

whoever said life doesn't begin @ conception, of course it does.
micro-organisms also have lives so you are hardly making any point here.
what we are defining is personhood....a baby before birth is not a person.
even your english language qualifies the baby then as it. not a he nor a she.

i am arguing the fact that some people actually think abortion = murder, no it isn't
abortion is what it's called...and it's abortion! perfectly legal in some countries.
there's no place on this planet where murder is legal so people really need
to get some perspective before spitting hokum!

Like I said most abortions do not take place before 3 months. Abortions happen even up to 7 months, and if the child is born alive, which there are several people that have survived an abortion and speak against it, the child is sometimes left to die.

The injection you speak of is a saline solution. Saline solutions can still kill a child after 3 months and it is most definitely used to kill the child after three months. After the saline solution has taken effect, the baby's body is torn apart and pulled out of the mother's womb.

A woman only goes through induction abortion when she is administered the Ru-486 drug, at which point she waits about 48 - 72 hours and expels her child.

Micro-organisms are not human, the life in the womb is human, yes or no Do humans have right Do LIVING humans have rights?

The difference between a baby before and after birth is what Is the body different?? Is the heart different?? Are the legs different?? Is the head different? The brain is different how

What would you say to people who survived abortions The moment they were being aborted they weren't persons, but as they survived they became persons Please what's the criteria for a person?? And what makes the child in the womb not fit that criteria??

Actually a person when the sex is not known can be called an 'it' inside or outside of the womb.
Or are you insinuating that a baby inside the womb has no gender Goodness I wonder what all the excitement is about buying pink and blue clothes for baby. You do know that women are born with all the eggs they could have, that is the part of the woman that produces another life is already existing in the woman before she herself is born, so she is already marked as a potential mother, eggs are already present even though they will not meet maturity until many years later.

So a baby girl in the womb has all the equipment to be a mother and yet she isn't a person

I absolutely love this particular quote of yours here "there's no place on this planet where murder is legal so people really need
to get some perspective before spitting hokum!" I love it because everything that Hitler did was legal. I also love it because only about a little over a century ago, slavery was legal, and the killing of black people was perfectly ok. But the killing of over 10 million people can't be murder because it was clearly legal. The enslavement and killing of blacks certainly can't be murder because well it was legal. So just because it's legal makes it definitely not murder.

Oh what's even better is the fact that if a pregnant woman is killed the murder is not just charged for murder of the woman, but is also charged for the murder of the child in her womb. I mean clearly when another person kills the child in the woman's womb it's murder but when the woman kills it, it's not murder. Because well when the other person kills it, it's a child and it's human and it's a person, but when the mother does it, it's not a child, it's not human, it's not a person
You know the content of the baby changes depending on who's doing the killing.

Honey abortion is murder, you can put lipstick on a pig it will never be a woman, it will still be a pig.
You can call it fairy dust if you want to at the end of the day it is the taking of a human life. And the taking of a human life is murder.

All these na tory. grin

I willl repeat the question:

Do you think a pregnant woman that does something reckless which leads to her losing her pregnancy would be charged for manslaughter? Secondly, do you think she should?

I answered your question above, read again. It was the first thing I said. Or are you so much of a senior citizen that you can't read?

Okay.

You know if you are driving with me as a passenger and you purposely do something reckless that leads to an accident and I die, you will be prosecuted for manslaughter?

Do you think a pregnant woman that does something reckless which leads to her losing her pregnancy would be charged for manslaughter? Secondly, do you think she should?

I am 69, I don't know whether you don't count that as a senior citizen.

Yes I do know that. Unfortunately in today's world the woman isn't charged, but the ironic thing is that if the driver were a man and he drives recklessly and kills the woman and her child he is charged with double homicide. Actually not just a man, if anyone else other than the pregnant woman were driving and caused the death, it's a double homicide, the person is persecuted for both the mother and child. Amazing law ain't it

But trust me the woman has tormented herself. A lot of women are actually tormented by their abortions, quite a few of them have ended up in an assylum. Now I live in the U.S. so it's easier to find these things out. One can only imagine how many Nigerian woman are suffering the pain of abortion, but would still walk in stride. Nigerian women would suffer and stay in anything.

Now you'd say well still the woman is the one getting an abortion. But a woman doesn't get an abortion by herself, there is a doctor that performs that abortion. So let's align it with what I stated above, since we're too sensitive to prosecute the woman but would still prosecute the other individual, we have an other individual in the case of an abortion as well.

It works for Ireland, and I believe they have the lowest infant and mother mortality rate in the world.

Lol yes sir you would be counted as a very young senior citizen wink

ifele: Catholic priests who molested boys are cowards and they deserve the death penalty. How can a Catholic priest officiate mass on Sunday morning and

then sodomize a boy or girl on the same Sunday AFTERNOON. Christians are hypocrites. I heard that Jews have the same problem too now. Some

rabbis were jailed for sodomizing boys in a New York Yeshiva. You see how disgusting some hypocrites. The punishment of God is coming upon them.

Not just Catholics, not just Jews, but teachers in schools, fathers and mothers at home, uncles and aunts, cousins do it to their cousins as well. Now I take it that you've never seen a Priest molest a child, therefore when you say that it is done on Sunday afternoon, you agree that that claim is unfounded

How does that life has a right.

Please edjucate me.

I want to hear some funk.

By being human, just like you with its own DNA, body, and organs. Just as you have the right to life as an adult is how you have the right to life as a child, and in the womb. Every human has the right to life regardless of the stage of development, because clearly to get to the next stage of development you have to go through the one that comes before that. Or do you believe that you don't have the right to life? Or possibly that you didn't go through the stage of development in the womb to become an infant outside of the womb, to become a toddler, to become an adolescent, to become a pre-teen, to become a teenager, to become a young man, to become a middle aged man, to become a senior citizen (I'm thinking you haven't gotten to this stage of development?)

Nigerians amaze me, we're quick to condemn our government for not valuing the lives of the people, when we ourselves do not value the most innocent of lives. May God have mercy on us all.

what people abort is not a baby...and if the same dog

so every teenager who gets pregnant at 17 will become a genevieve?

Most abortions do not take place before 3 months, as some women do not find out how far along they are until they actually are at the 3 month mark. It is very possible that while a woman is pregnant she sees her menses, during implantation a woman can bleed giving the impression of menstruation, but it infact is pregnancy.

But let me address your statement that before 3 months it isn't a baby. What you're implying is that babies do not come from an egg and a sperm as biology has said, and that life does not begin at the moment of conception as science has proven it does. But it instead begins at some magical moment when a fairy descends on the woman's womb when she is 3 months pregnant with a chair? baboon? monkey? goat? Please do tell what is it before 3 months? And how does it get to be 3 months?

Only about 7% of rape victims choose to abort their child. When asked why they wouldn't abort, they stated that they themselves have experienced a violence and would never wish it upon another. Especially a violence of death.

@Topic,parents especially moms would do well to maintain a very healthy, free and open relationship with their daughters.A girl,no matter what she has done that enjoys a good rapport with the mom would confide in her mom as opposed to peers who might lead her to the abortion table.

Pregnancy is not a sin,illegal fvcking/fornication is.

And when the condom breaks? Put her on birth control pills? And when that fails? Then an abortion? The child in the womb is just a fatality abi?

However muslim women should not go along with the western style women liberation as it is just a recipe for societal and marital coolapse as we see in the western world. Muslim women shoul look inwards into islam and realise the abundant rights they have !!! Knowledge is power and knowledge is light!!

This is an advise that I pray all Muslim women will listen to. It has led to the demise of Christian women in the west and now slowly creeping into Africa. But there are Christian women like myself and many of my friends who are countering this and trying to change it. Liberation my foot, all it has done is led women into becoming the sex slaves of men and in the open for that matter.

I do understand the concept of trinity in depth and I always do my best not to delve into comparative analysis here and I have avoided it on the thread as it causes more harm than good IMO.

No problem, and you can ask away anytime.

My statement of 1 +1+1 = 3 is simply from the doctrine of god the father, god the son and god the Holy Spirit and the three gods equaling one God.

If this is your understanding of the Trinity, then you haven't even come anywhere close to understanding it. Sorry you haven't.

I do understand that the issue is very sensitive and it is what you have known all your life but this same issue is the very foundation upon which islam is built and it is the unity of ONE GOD that never exists in three forms and none can share in his ONENESS

Um no actually it's not what I've known my whole life, I converted from agnosticism, after being a protestant (not really though just went to Church cause Mum did never really paid much attention), and the trinity isn't existing in different forms.

The act of asking God something is what we generally call supplication and the act of bowing and postrating to God in the form of our ritual worship is what we generally call prayer.

Ah there is a difference, supplication is included in prayer. Prayer is petition, thanksgiving, sacrifice, and much more for us.

Cool beans.

Ok I really want to stop here, don't want to derail it, if you have any response, let me know in another thread.

Aww I feel loved bcus I was missed. I will try to stop by more, and to greet my muslim friends, I can't make promises though, life is surely full of a lot right now., lol.Arigato.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Virtues Of Salat by Lady2(f): 9:21pm On Mar 09, 2011
As for religion I believe some concepts and principles in most religion are exactly same but as non relegious you have an innate ability in you to know what is right and wrong and you don't need the religion would you have to believe in Christianity to know that killing someone is wrong ? Would you have to believe in Islam to know stealing is wrong ? in my view religion today is an instrument of hate intolerance domination and intimadition just as colonization in the past century I don't like the attitude I am better than you or my way is the only way for salvation like every religion claiming

Yes you are correct, there is such a thing called natural law in which in each of us is embedded the understanding of right and wrong, but who puts that in us? The creator, but what we do not know is that not worshipping God is an injustice itself.

But let me touch on your idea that one doesn't need religion in order to know these truths. One does need religion to know and it is evident around us today.
I am a Catholic Christian and one of the main problems that Catholics and other christians are fighting around the world is abortion. Those who did not have a religion or the true religion or who have fallen into the false concept of moral relativism are those who advocate abortion on demand or the killing of disabled children in the womb or outside of the womb, and more recently assisted suicide or euthanasia. These are people who do not find life to be sacred.
Hitler, Stalin, and others like them were not answerable to God and therefore felt there was no problem in getting rid of those whom they viewed as inferior, the elderly they killed through euthanasia, the Jews they killed, the Catholics they killed, and other Christians as well. They forced abortion on the Jews or Christians they used to work in their camps, to stop them from breeding. When one is answerable to God, one cannot take upon his or herself to carry out such atrocious acts.

You may say that is extreme, it is not, because the amount of the elderly killed through euthanasia, the unborn through abortion, today surpasses that which Hitler and Stalin did combined. And people are watching and standing by as it happens.

It is religion that leads one to be responsible and to live a responsible life.

Hello all,

I heard from a Muslim friend the requirements for fasting during Ramadan. She said that as long as you eat by 6am you're fine. Basically you can wake up really early, eat before 6am and then fast throughout the day until about 6pm when you break the fast. Is this true?

I am asking because today is Ash wednesday, the beginning of Lent the fasting period for Catholics, Orthodox Christians started on Monday. I learnt about the requirements for Orthodox Christians and it's so strict. I wanted to learn about that for muslims.

Care to share? Thanks.

O Almighty God and everlasting God, spare those who are penitent, be merciful to those who implore Thee: and vouchsafe to send Thy holy Angel from heaven, to bless and hallow these ashes, that they may be a wholesome remedy to all who humbly implore Thy Holy Name, and who accuse themselves, conscious of their sins, deploring their crimes before Thy divine Mercy, or humbly and earnestly beseeching Thy sovereign goodness: and grant through the invocation of Thy most Holy Name that whosoever shall be sprinkled with them for the remission of their sins may receive both health of body and safety of soul. Let us change our garments for ashes and sackcloth: let us fast and lament before the Lord: for plenteous in mercy is our God to forgive our sins (Joel 2. 13)

Between the porch and the altar, the priests, the Lord's ministers, shall weep and shall say: Spare, O Lord, spare Thy people: and close not the mouths of them that sing to Thee, O Lord. (Joel 2. 17)

Grant O Lord, to Thy faithful people, that they may undertake with fitting piety this period of fasting, and complete it with steadfast devotion. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God forever and ever. Amen.

Religion / Re: Secret Son Of Catholic Priest Stirs Controversy by Lady2(f): 10:40pm On Jun 11, 2010
The topic is about a catholic priest fathering a child from an extra-papal relationship and hiding it for years. Hypocrisy as shown above is pretending to be something you're not. The priest is a hypocrit. That clarifies?

The man is a Priest, he did not pretend to be a Priest, he is validly ordained. He broke a vow does not mean he is a hypocrite. Some married men break their vows, it does not mean they are hypocrites, they commit adultery and are still married. It doesn't mean that they are pretending to be married, they are actually married. What adultery means is that they sinned. Same thing with the Priest, he didn't pretend to be a Priest, he is a Priest who broke his vows and sinned, he is a sinner just like you, he is a sinner just like me. A Priest is not perfect, a pastor is not perfect, they are sinners, the Priest did not pretend to be perfect. If he pretended to be perfect then you'd have grounds for calling him a hypocrite, but I don't see any information stating that he claimed to be perfect, therefore you have no grounds for callin him a hypocrite. If you think he made himself out to be perfect, then the burden of proof is on you to show that he did so. It is you that assumed him to be perfect and therefore the problem lies with you and not him. The apostles were not perfect, yet their teachings are infallible and you regard them as the word of God, they were not hypocrites because they preached and still sinned.

Be careful how you go around passing false judgment, for you will be judged on it. The man is a sinner, call him that, he lied, call him a liar, he abused his vocation, his role as a Priest, say so, but don't make it to be what it's not, lest you yourself sin.

galileo was perceived as a heretic for his factual but then contradictory claims (as opposed to your so-called holy book written by ancient stone aged jewish men) of the earth revolving around the sun. martin lurther was perceived a heretic by the then catholic church

I understand your point, but this caught my attention.

Galileo wasn't considered a heretic for a factual but then contradictory claims. No one can be considered a heretic for scientific finds. He was considered a heretic because he assumed the authority to interpret the Holy Scriptures. The authority didn't belong to him.

But then again, I see people still don't know what heretic means. *scratches head*

i cant remember that verse of the scripture that forbid drinking but i will try to find it out for you.honestly speaking no insult intended'no responsible man will drink or smoke.wat kind of image do you create in your mind when you see someone smoking and drinking.wat will you tink of if your wife is drinking and smoking?

You won't find a verse because there isn't one, the only one you will find will be the one you will misinterpret. Remember Christ was called a drunk therefore he drank, and it wasn't grape juice, you don't get drunk off of grape juice.

Drinking isn't wrong, drinking too muc is. Smoking isn't a sin either but it is bad for the body.
