Good morning everyone. I'm a new silent follower, trying to read up the 591 pages. We just got ITA 2 days ago from the last draw and theres still this grey area. I did a masters in the UK in 2009/2010 and was in and out the UK that year but definitely spent 6 months and was above 18years. Do I need a police report from the UK? If yes, any links on how to get one? Please I'll appreciate your inputs pleeasssse. Thanks guys |

Hello house, all praise to God my LO arrived on the 8th of Oct. Hospital- St Bernards, Circumcision, follow up visits all inclusive. Now it's BA that wants to give me headache but God pass them. Saying I should pay $400 for my LO's ticket. Please I'm trying to follow the suggestions given here earlier and i need a few clarifications. 1. The exact AA/BA flight combination for my return leg isnt showing anymore on the BA website, so I can't do an estimate based on that as suggested Earlier. . I called them earlier and tried to book a return ticket to bring down the cost since I can find the exact flight combination I have online anymore but they said I can only book a return ticket at the airport. Please anyone That has successfully dealt with this and gotten a cheaper quote should please help out. Thanks in advance 3 Likes |

I flew BA too is September at 34weeks plus and that was what was stated on my fit to fly. Their policy is 36weeks maximum. The only reason they give some people wahala is because they believe people lie a lot, so when your fit to fly states 34 weeks they add 2-3 weeks. In my case my doctor attached a pic of a scan he took few days before travel date showing the date too, abi scan will not lie Nah. quote author=Rebarobyn post=49896985] I'm sure about their policy however what you cannot rule out is that the airline official checking you in may not notice you're pregnant. I once flew lufthansa heavily pregnant and they did not notice I was pregnant and never asked for my fit to fly. Did you give them a fit to fly letter staking clearly that you were 35 weeks gone when you were boarding? You should count yourself lucky you were not spotted. BA can be very strict.
|

Hi Dunni, I paid almost $400 for my son (3yrs plus) and myself actually. So it was almost $200 per person. I booked through Expedia.com. it's pretty easy, the only issue you may have will be payment and we used a GTB dollar card, while my husband used a diamond bank Naira credit card when booking his own ticket. So I'm assuming any correct Naija card should work. Thirdly if you're leaving I'm about 2 weeks and the issue you're having is the price you're seeing then it's not likely to come down oh. The earlier you buy the better. That price I paid for my son and I was actually about 3 weeks+ before departure. Some people on this thread have mentioned that it's "okay' to wait and buy on the day of travel too. I think that's risky though!!! My people, who can guide me on how to go about this? i will be leaving in about two weeks. i believe booking ahead of time will be cheaper because i read somwhere here that Lady Ay, paid over $350 for a trip from New York to Chicago. |

Carry your cash oh!!! The way it works is that after they go through your documents and aoprove, the write the equivalent in Naira of the amount they are selling to you on the first bank teller. Then you go downstairs to first bank, pay your cash and return to them with the teller, then you get your dollars. Getting a teller filled in the first place is the real hustle. After that it's guaranteed they will sell to you. All the best !!! quote author=Niksie post=49243239] Thanks LadyAy, you were able to use POS at Travelex right?

Hello guys, I got in to Chicago yesterday. Flew BA and American Airlines on Sunday to New york at 34weeks 3 days. Flight was really good, except that I had motion sickness ( never experienced it before). Thank God I had an extra top in my hand luggage ( so please prepare oh, anything can happen to a preggie woman). I traveled with my 3yrs 8months old son. He slept during most of both flights, and had a nice time at Heathrow during our 5hrs layover ( thanks to a free toy corner we found). American Airlines was superb ( my first time flying them). Spacious seats, meals on point. Fast forward to New York POE. Cbp: hello Me: good afternoon Cbp: passports pls Tries to pronounce my son's name and peeps to take a look at him. Me: laughing Cbp: what do you do in Nigeria Me: ........ Cbp: for how long have you been a ..... Me: since 2006- that's 10yrs Cbp: do you like it? Me: I love it Cbp: so where are you headed Me: Chicago Cbp: you have family here? Me: yes my cousin, and she's the one I'm staying with in Chicago ( all this time I noticed he was looking at his computer. My interview in May i mentioned we were going to be staying with my cousin in Chicago) Cbp: okay nice. I'll take your finger prints now ma'am and your pic. After that..he stamps me in 6 months Me: you didn't ask what I'm her for. I'm here to have my baby Cbp: oh say that again. You're pregnant? Me: oh yes ( I step back so he can see me well oh) Cbp: oh cool. So you have a doctor already and all Me: oh yes Cbp: okay that's fine. You can go. Pls submit this card to the officers after picking your luggage. ( they made us 1St time visitors to the US fill out a landing card. We didn't do the automated machine thingy at immigration) So that was it oh. Nothing was seized at agriculture even though I declared dried fish on my form. The queues at JFK no be here oh..thank God my flight to Chicago was about 4 hrs after our arrival time. So Pls take note if you plan to travel same day. Especially if buoyed arriving at the busy times. We arrived Newyork JFK at 1:00pm. Now chilaxing in Chicago, waiting to see my doctor on Thursday!!! My Forex hustle- stanbic gave me only 2k at 265 on Wednesday. Then on Sunday morning my travel date, I took my printed boarding pass to travelex at MMA1 and with God's favour got the remaining 2k at 256. Just after selling to me they stopped. I spent a total of about 3 hrs there and that was because I used my belle to jump queue and endured insults from some angry people that had been there since early morning . God continue to help and favour us all the way !!! 22 Likes |

Hi Zocken, I'm also headed to Chicago next week by God's grace and I'm using New York POE. I heard Atlanta too is okay. From New York one way ticket costs as little as $65 if you buy early. You're lucky you even heard early enough, we had already bought tickets to O'hare Chicago, then thanks to Nairaland had to cancel and buy new tickets with another airline. God help us all !!! quote author=Zocken post=48724467]My good people of nairaland, please don't brand me lazy. I don read tire so tey I don confuse self. DW will be birthing in Chicago by 1St week of November. She intends to travel by mid October. The choice of Chicago is because we have a relative there and we have also found an affordable hospital. However, after reading the scary POE issues there, she will be entering through another state. That's where the dilemma is. I don't even know which POE she should use self. Any advice on that? Pls help a brother. God bless
1 Like |

Hi Trishxx. Thanks so much for sharing your JFK POE experience and Amen to your prayers. I'm coming in through JFK in about 2 weeks too. Can you Pls shed more light on the questions asked on the self assessment machine that you think might warrant the X mark and secondary inspection. Could it be food only? My mum is joining me 2 weeks after so I can leave her to come with food. I have a connecting flight few hours after landing JFK so any Info to avoid secondary inspection will be highly appreciated. Thanks so much and I wish you a pleasant stay and awesome delivery experience. quote author=trishxx post=48668215]Hi all. Got to the US through JFK (New York) yesterday. In summary, I used the self assessment machine and it printed a slip without an "x" across it. I think those who had the "x" were sent for secondary, at least they were separated. Spent 2 minutes or less with the immigration officer, gisting half the time. I wish you all a smooth experience as I had. Cheers.
