Hello landed seniors, thanks so much for all you do to guide us. So we did a soft landing in May, opened bank accounts with RBC and are back in Nigeria. Now we received a "declaration of Tax residence for individuals " form and there's a section where they are asking if we are tax residents of any other country? Of course the answer is yes because we both work and pay our taxes here in Nigeria. Please what is the implication of this? Has anyone else experienced this? We would just like to know what to expect after declaring this please?

Hello everyone. Great to be here finally after a year on the express entry thread. Well maybe things have changed again. We sent our son's Nigerian passport and it was stamped even though he's an American citizen. We sent only his Nigerian passport though...
quote author=dtush post=65849168]

Nope. Things have changed. You need to send their passports too. There have been cases where people were asked to send their kids passports after leaving it out. I sent my daughter's own. It just won't be stamped
Not advisable. Instead transfer the money to your personal account and draft a board resolution stating you've decided to take some of the profits from your company. That's what I did and I had no issues.

Top of the morning guys!
Pls I need a little clerification, can I use my Corp Acc as a POF as that’s were majority of my money is.

Secondly I studied agric sci but working in the bank can I also use the bank as a work experience since both disciplines differ

Thanks everyone wink. This journey must end in praise for us all. Please i have some questions.
For the American babies, did you send both American and Nigerian passports? We used details of both passports in the application.
Secondly pls about the IMM00..form mentioned in the ppr email, is that for everyone to fill. If yes pls where do we download it from.
Thirdly there's no address in the email. They just mentioned we should send passports to the Ghana office. How and where can we get the right address. Please would appreciate your responses and any link with more detailed info on how to proceed
.

Hello family, got the golden mail today. Here's my timeline and some points that might be useful.
AOR: 1st Sept 2017
MP: 8th Sept
NA1: not sure
IP1: not sure
NA2: not sure (I noticed it was NA when I started checking actively in November)
IP2: Jan 29th - Jan 31st
PPR: Feb 7th.
Family of 4, Visa office- Ottawa, 1 UK visa refusal for my husband , moderate travel history

1. I'm a self employed pharmacist and am the primary applicant so it wasn't a smooth sail at all as there were many grey areas regarding proof of employment and funds. For proof of employment We submitted CAC documents, all my annual licenses( both personal and for my pharmacy for the last 4years) PAYE tax receipts for my employees and myself, no letter of explanation (wasn't a good idea at all).
2. For POF, I transferred half of the amount required from my business account a few days before we submitted our application to my personal account and fixed it in T bills. We then drafted a board resolution and stated we as directors of the bank have decided to take the said sum from the profits of the business. Then my husband provided the remaining with his savings account statement (6months), a letter from his bank and a letter of indebtedness as well, we also added his pensions so we had at least 1M over the required POF to allow for foreign exchange fluctuations.

In December we decided to order gcms notes, all thanks to this wonderful thread. The results came in mid January and mehn I got a rude shock. The officer that reviewed my application in the CIO stated that I had not met eligibility requirements because of my NOC..., that i didnt give evidence of documentation from 3rd party individuals indicating nature of work done ..blah blah blah.

Honestly I don't know where and how I got the strength cos at this point was tired. Anyways we put all we could together I.e receipts from some suppliers, snap shots of emails, snapshots of our social media pages and websites, the contract from my security company etc. Then I wrote a comprehensive LOE.

Then we sent an email via the CSE page and attached all these. I got a reply after 5 days stating they had sent it to the office processing my application and would be contacted if further documents were needed.
Fast forward to IP2 and yay..victory at last. No ADRs

Thank you all for sharing your experiences and answering questions . May all our dreams come true. grin grin

Hello fellow pharmacist smiley,
Yes you can claim for internship. For the NYSC role you can also claim points, however because your role was as a lecturer, i doubt if you can claim points as a pharmacist but should be able to do so if you can combine NOC's (think some people here have done that successfully) and of course you can claim points with community pharmacy experience. Check the pharmacists NOC job description for further clarifiction

Rosheedah:
Good morning y’all.Welldone guys! Pls I need help. I’m a Pharmacist here in naija but from what I’ve read,is it possible to claim internship, NYSC and community practice as work experience(s)??
I asked because my internship was in an hospital, NYSC was in a college of health as a lecturer and now post-nysc, I work in a community pharmacy(over a year experience). The hospital and community practice(s) are similar in job description but the NYSC is different .....so can I use the three? And if Yes,pls for that NYSC, will my certificate suffice or I need to go to my PPA for reference letter?

Pls help me.....thanks in advance...

Great news. Many congratulations bro. infact ehn the tension is real and everything you've said is absolutely correct. Im also a self employed applicant and i must confess this has been a humbling experience for me. I trust God that i will testify soon.

Please ive been searching for the post where someone here analysed the difference in wordings for IP1 and IP2. Please can someone help out.
My husband said he saw a change in our background check about an hour ago but it seems the cic site is down now.
What do they write under background check for IP2 please??

For the ADR I got, I was asked for additional proof of employment for myself employed work. The requested for contract documents, photos, tax returns etc. I was also asked to provide detailed explanation why a certain company was always depositing money into my account. Some few months back, @boss13 wrote extensively here about what documents you should submit before for your proof of employment.. I mocked him, I was asked for those documents exactly has he said it. I am sorry for my actions. Please go through his TL for those documents. London is not a joke. The trauma is intense. I am on different whatsapp group and the agitations are very intense. Try your best to submit those documents. Documents I submitted for my self employed work includes contracts, cac document, lirs tax card, ID cards, call cards, bank statement highlighting payments for the contracts I submitted, screen shots of official emails, practice licence, receipts and invoices

I have been at this journey since 2015. If you go to the first thread, first few pages, you will find me there. It has been a surreal experience but I thank God it ended in praises. I wish you all the best of luck

Congratulations and thanks for sharing!
Many congrats to all that passed their IELTS and to those that didn't pass, please don't even let it get to you. Remember we are all on a journey and God will allow trials on this journey to strengthen our faith and character. Some of us aced ielts 1st attempt BUT have 'trials' post AOR cheesy. hehehe.
Some will face theirs post landing in canada sef...so whichever one comes to you...lets remember God has promised that " He will not allow us to be tempted with more than we can bear..and with each temptation He will.make a way of escape". So seek him for your way of escape and remain positive.
Happy weekend everyone!! It will surely end in praise .

[Qquote author=Sezbaby post=64361338]Just to say a big thank you to everyone that contributed to this forum. My family (Husband, wife and child) started this journey in September 2016, and the forum was very instrumental

Lastly, to encourage people, see our timeline below

IELTS: September 2016
IQAS: September 2016
EE Profile Created: November 2016, with Husband as Principal Applicant and CRS 418
ITA: April 9th 2017 (5 months After)
Medicals: June 19th 2017
Application Submitted: July 9th 2017
Medicals Passed: July 21st, 2017

July to December 2017 : roughly 6 months (absolutely nothing happened. As in nothing. We just dey siddon look everyday)

January 4, 2018: ADR for POF (responded immediately) Changed to IP2
January 5, 2018: PPR (finally, just about 4 days to 6 months)

If you're with the London visa office, i recommend you lift up your eyes to the hills, and just wait upon the Lord or whatever your faith trusts in (lol). Spend the time reading up on what you need to do post PPR, cos trust me, there is a lot to do if you want to land and integrate easily with minimal disruption to your livelihood and standard of living. Its not about your qualifications or anything but just basic stuff that make things like finding a job easier.

Will update when the pick up letter arrives.

FAQS:
1. We changed our passports during the process, i.e. different passports for EE and PR application. Wifey even changed her name

Thanks and peace out
KayVann:
Dear Nairaland family,
Silent reader in the house, I just thought to share my story as I have been so inspired by the posts on this forum. My Canadian journey started in 2015 when I wanted to further my education, 3 times my study permit was
Below is my timeline
ITA 7th August
AOR 24th August
Medicals passed 3rd September
IP 1 3rd September
Na2. 9th September
Adr 6th December
Ip2 6th December
Adr submitted 14th December
PPR 12th January.
Family of 4.

My application was not perfect but God covered it, I used a fixed deposit and I applied as a business owner (partnership to be precise). I had to show proof of business with proof of work done, receipts, pictures and written notes from clients, I turned in our company account bank statement as well. The Adr was for me to provide tax clearance certificates for the companies. This is just to say, self employed have no issues with express entry as long as you can prove the legitimacy of your business.
It's been a long and excruciating journey but God gave me the grace to sail through with losing my elements, I am extremely grateful to the Almighty God.

Hello, please enter just the way you are. It's risky to claim false jobs because you'll have to tell many lies. I submitted as a self employed and im trusting God for the best. I'm in a regulated field so I submitted my licenses to practice for the past 4 years, tax payment receipts for my employees and self, 3 months bank statement for one of my banks and a letter from the same bank saying when I opened the account and that I've been running it very well since then..., CAC documents...mine is a retail business so i couldnt submit receipts form clients because they are just too many. If they go on google they will see the picture of my business.

Just relax and start gathering every evidence that you've been doing a legitimate business. I believe Canada will be happy to have entrepreneurs. You'll only have to prove that you've been running this business full time. We will all testify IJN

Coupled with what optionese has given, I used https://applygcms.com. it came in one month, I think it's 18 or 20cad. If you're on a spot for too long please order gcms notes- in my case I was IP1 for like 3 weeks when I ordered, it took a month to come, then I saw my issue. In fact I gathered or someone said it here that when u order, besides giving u the full status of your app, it makes the case officer take another look at your case file.
I was on IP1 till Dec 6th!!! By October 11, I got gcms notes and found that I had issues with my pof. I submitted two bank statements and a bank reference. My dorm account in dollars had 95% of the funds and my savings with d rest 5%. According to d gcms note all the funds they saw was $4,515 which obviously didn't meet the threshold for a family of 3. Actually the bulk of the money $16k was in my dorm which they had erroneously skipped. So they only checked my savings and converted to get $4,515. I was devastated. I got a few advice from my good ppl here, sent them couple of mails and raised several CSE. Re-scanned all statements and sent to them. They didnt respond!. I couldn't print new statement cos i had actually used part money for some things. They totally ignored all the mails, and probably dumped my case as its a dead-end.
On dec 6th, I woke up to a letter of refusal! The worst has finally happened. It was the same reason - insufficient funds. You can imagine the traumatic experience. However I braced up myself, decided to write again. But this time it was going to be with some fury! I was so irate. I explained how unfair the system is and sent all the statements again. The fault was clearly from them and not mine. You missed out on my major account details and you got me disqualified for no fault of mine.
God is indeed great.

Good morning house. A big well done to everyone and may all our dreams come true.

Please on this POF matter when the money is from a business account.
What if we transfer the money to my personal account and fix the TBills in my name, do a board resolution stating we've agreed to share some of the profits from the company (possibly notarize the letter), print statements showing the transfer of the money from the business account to my personal account, submit letters from the bank confirming hubby and i and the only signatories to the account and of course submit our CAC documents as well. Will these above make a good case for using company funds. Its a limited liability company owned by hubby and i.
Thanks in advance for your contributions.
