Eternal Salvation is reserved for the persistent. Falling away is possible and a choice.

Here you are again quoting Mathew 24:13 out of context. The verse wasn't talking about salvation as you put it. It is talking about enduring the great tribulation till the end. Read the entire chapter 24 for better understanding.

As for Demas, Apostle Paul said he left having love this present world (you omitted that for a reason). What did the bible say about love of the world?

Guess what? Even if you don't know work out that salvation as explained above, you will still be counted as a righteous man for having faith in Jesus who makes the ungodly righteous.

The call to Holiness wasn't a mistake. If you remove your part of commitment from your Salvation then you have misunderstood the "Believe" you repeatedly mentioned in your postulation.
