Get real there are few jobs and thousands of UNEMPLOYABLE graduates, the employable ones who are out of a job are looking for what to do not complaining on nairaland.

As a Car Owner with several years of experience behind the wheel, I want to say this. @OP you are biased and bigoted in your post.

When I did not own a car, I respected the rules of the road.

1: Do not walk casually gisting with your girl-friend on a busy street with rushing traffic, especially when you are actually walking on the road rather than the side-walk

2: When a car respects you and waits for you to cross a road with no zebra-crossing. you walk quickly not pick-up the phone and start posing as if you are walking to your own car parked down the road.. friggin bastich!

3: Do not tap or hit the boot of a car as you cross the road just because you think you are more valuable than the car, you are not. if you were offered for sale at N1 million and a 2009 Range Rover LR3 for N1 million, 10 out of 10, chances are you will never be bought. (even for free)

4: Do not get angry when you hear the sound of your neighbor (my fellow-car owner) warming-up his car, after-all that illiterate road-side preacher who blares Hell and Damnation (5AM-6AM every morning 365 days a year) never bothers you at all.

5: Do not get angry when you (a non-car owner) hear a Car-owner blaring Rick Ros(AY) 6AM in the morning coming home from hard partying. after-all, you slept 9 hours next to your I betta pass my neighbor, noise maker of a generator, smiling all through.

6: The Zebra Crossing is not meant for casual strolling, observe Zebras in their nautral environment, they are always on 100% alertness and walk briskly, that is why it is called a Zebra Crossing not an aimless Hippo crossing

The Truth is a lot of us made big mistakes early in Life for which we are paying the consequences.

The period in your life when you make the most of it is between 20-30 years old, after that you finish the race between 35-50 years old, from that point you prepare for retirement and God-willing, you party-hard, go on holidays and prepare your will because God can be a party-pooper at that age.

Most (Majorly Most) people play with their lives at a time when they should be learning, growing and making the best of their time preparing for the future. you can see it in our youths today. making mistakes that will be costly in the near future, they will come to nairaland then and complain

There are valid reasons for placing limits on job eligibility based on AGE. it is mostly a HR decision but there are some guiding principles

1: In a competitive work-place, you expect the young employees to aspire to positions at the Top-Level. It is a career incentive and a people-centric HR strategy. This way you maximize your human capital to an age range where the employee can dis-engaged and enter similar high-placed positions in other endeavors. You cannot have that much of a career plan at Age 30-40 applying for an entry-level job.

2: In most organizations (especially Financial Institutions), you are a Manager after 8-10 years work experience .. that is like 25-35 years of age. You cannot have a 35-40 year old man working under you and expect to drive him as you do other in-experienced hands under you. He may flare-up and start asking you how old you are, or can't you at least respect his grey hairs. such terse workplace situations are to be avoided. It is sad, but the economy does not favor older persons in place of younger ones especially when work demands you look up to one young brash manager.

3: Health Insurance is also a factor, Young means less likely to have ailments that affect us as we get older say from 30+ and above. It is a period where you can still instill some healthy habits and pay less on BUPA and other Health insurance schemes.
