If external monitor says "out of range" I cant 100% conclude that its a video card issue.

NnamdiN: hello lagtech, I have a complaint, but dont panic, it's about my laptop (the one I didnt buy from you) it had a lil issue, pulled out from the bottom case(none of my brothers admitted dropping it so I'll just blame the devil) and after it was fixed, the screen became dark, like I cant see anything except I use a flash light from my phone, its practically useless now...I tried using an external monitor but it displays ''out of range'' anytime I connect. What can I do(google is telling long stories) the guy fixing it says screen flex is the problem(its still displaying, just dark) I would have believed him but his own screen flex is 5k and 850 naira on ebay. What parts do i need to buy?

What laptop is that?

"Out of range" is likely due to the depth of the resolution on the laptop. Change the settings on your external monitor. If an external monitor cant project a laptop -then its not a bad screen-but bad motherboard (video card on the board).
In your case it could be cracked screen or loose cables.
But 5k to fix a screen looks cheap to me.

Our commission varies averagely from $200 to $500. Depends on if we have to go a long distance to pick it up or do any extra work.

Other costs are:

Shipping: About 160k to 185k depending on if its a car or suv.

I have little choice. I appreciate complaints from our customers as I have gotten many ideas and motivation from complaints and from praises too.

But when people post wrong information on the thread-I have to respond on the thread as well or the wrong impression will be built. My brother here said we are sending his items piecemeal ignoring the fact that he made different orders from different sellers and then he said he was tired of hearing stories. If you are newbie on this thread and you read that-a certain impression will be formed in your mind. We are not perfect -but we do do right by our customers.

I got an email from a person like 2 months ago and the summary of his message was :

" He had gone through the thread and the complaints were too many so-he didnt think we could handle his business. He then said he would check back when things got better!!!" I doubted the seriousness of his message as he also said that our shipping was too slow since his brother ships cars from the USA to Nigeria in 3 weeks-something which I know is not practicable. If his brother ships a car in 3 weeks-why not use his services instead of ours. But whether this was a serious person or not-the import of his message was that he had formed a bad impression of us based on what he had read on the thread.

Doing business on a public forum like this is good as it brings in customers. But it also has its challenges. Complaints must be handled publicly and EVERY BUSINESS WILL HAVE COMPLAINTS EVERY DAY- I am a customer too to some other businesses and customers can be hard to please. With a traditional business-most people may never hear of the compliants unless it becomes serious. On a public forum -the whole world hears -impressions are formed and reputations formed. Unfortunately reputation is not character.

USA Address and Western Union.

Thanks to Resourceman and all those who showed concern about the USA address and western union issues -especially those who sent private emails.

USA Address
We have been offering a USA address service for years now-even before we came on Nairaland. It is true that there some bad eggs amongst us who are into fraud and who might use stolen credit cards and ebay accounts to do fraud and then pass the items through us-I have indeed encountered this. But we have measures in place to protect our business:

1) We do not accept shipments from unknown sources. The buyer of the item must be the same person we are shipping to in Naija. They must be the owner of the ebay or paypal account.
2) There must be a receipt or bill of sale.
3) We verify the identity of the receiver.

Western Union
Many people raised concern when a nairalander requested us to receive western union from a person and then buy an item for him. That did sound fishy. But we do our due diligence. Apparently the person in the USA is also a Nigerian and a relative of that person. Rather than have the relative send him money in Naija-he wanted to use it to buy a laptop. and we called to verify the legality of the transaction.
There are many Nigerians with relatives in the USA who instead of sending money to the person in Nigeria -can instead decide to buy a laptop or other item-and since we render this service-we could be asked to render that service.

One good thing about the USA is that the laws here work and protect people. If a murder happens on a street-the police will not just come and arrest everyone that is on the street-they dont have the power to do that and citizens are aware of their rights. Thus if a nairalander beats all our safeguards and tries to pass a fraudulent item or cash from a criminal enterprise through our hands-we are protected.

Bro-please who is telling you stories? How can your items be shipped at the same time when they arrived at our USA office different times over a period of about 3 weeks.
Call Jimmy and pick up your items! I have told you this more than twice-your items have been in Lagos for over 3 weeks.

If you buy items from 4 different sellers in 4 different locations in 2 different countries-how do you expect them to arrive at the same time. If you want your items to arrive in Naija at the same time-you have two choices:

1) Instruct us not to ship to Naija until the last item arrives.

2) Buy all your items from one seller at the same time and instruct seller to ship at once.

Its as simple as that.
