Been away since middle of the week-all emails and bbm messages (140 in all) replied. More good news is coming in and we are making progress every day. Outstanding pick ups will be made and also payments where due. We have not made a profit since August due to all the delays and unforeseen circumstances and in fact have lost almost 1 million naira. We appreciate the patience of our customers and apologise for all inconveniences. All will end well. We had 2 pick ups last week. Some pick ups are expected this week Friday. The NAHCO embargo was just part of the challenges we encountered. Another part was goods held up by shippers before the embargo. Almost all have been resolved and the few that remain -we will be claiming this week and next week. We are also continuing to pay refunds to those due. Paying refunds has not been easy. Most of these refunds are for items that we have not even picked up-so one has to source for the funds. Compensation Plan We are in this business to stay and no business can survive without customers. Some of the laptops we designed to help our agents and partners affected by the multiple delays are arriving. If you are a seller and ordered a laptop and it arrived late (over 1 month) and did not get a refund-you can get one of these laptops. You just pay the cost of shipping (5k to 8k depending on weight) at the point of pick up. There are about 19 laptops in all. The first set to arrive include: Lenovo thinkpad t60-dual core Dell Latitude d600 Toshiba Satellite A205 dual core HP Compaq nc6220 Dell Inspiron 6000 All have brand new batteries and chargers. This is going to be a good year. |
About 8 people picked up items Monday and yesterday. 2 people got payment refunds yesterday. We are slowly-but surely resolving these issues. We again apologise to all our customers. All pending items will be picked up from this weekend to next week. Emails or bbm message sent Monday to Wednesday to all 8 sea shipment customers. |

Bros-dont you think it will be in our favor-to have everyone pick up their items? Why would we select and give to some. Anyone who has not picked his items is very unlikely to order from us again. We shipped through 5 different shippers on different dates through different states in the USA. The normal thing would be to work hard on their items and that is what we have been doing. All is almost resolved anyway. |
rhames:Sorry. Being offline. Please beware of scammers and dont post your email address. I just replied you. |
Happy New Year again to all. All emails and messages sent over the weekend just being replied. We had some pick ups last week Wednesday before the new year. Another set of pick ups is planned for tomorrow Tuesday. Owners will be contacted. Next pick up after that is next week. We paid N259,000 to different Nairalanders as refunds in December. All outstanding refunds will be paid this week and next week starting with N38,000 payment today to Anya and Nayon. All items shipped last year-both delayed and those just shipped in December through air cargo are either already in the hands of their owners or will be in their hands this week or next week. We have just one shipper with issues now. Any item not delivered by next week-we will conclude with the owners by next week. I have contacted or will be contacting all 8 sea shipping customers tomorrow. Our travails are being put behind us God willing this month and we expect our new consignments of laptops to arrive and be ready for sale in about 2 weeks. |
Today is December 31st 2014. We thank all those who have patronized our business. We delivered over 2000 items to more than 150 people. We handled over N5 million worth of payments and delivered all items to their owners between April and November. We apologize to all those who have been affected by the multiple challenges that we have faced. We appreciate and thank all our customers who have not lost faith in us and have handled whatever delays they experienced with patience. Your goodwill and patience during this time will not be forgotten. Your comments, your messages, your prayers are valued more than you know. The Pharaoh that did not remember Joseph will not arise. The last few months have been tough-but we are slowly, but surely resolving them. This month we have made refunds of over 300,000 naira to several nairalanders-many in full-some in part including to @adiniji, @labeke, @samalex2000, and many others and they can testify to this. We will still make refunds today and hope to complete all refunds within the next 2 weeks. Several people picked up their items last week. We expect about 8 people to pick up items today as well. By the end of today-if the pick up holds as scheduled-there will be about 12 people left with items uncollected from air cargo(some of these people have also picked up items previously) and 6 people from sea shipping. All these items will be picked up anytime from Saturday. The problems we have had are not insurmountable, nor limitless. They are problems and every problem has a solution. We have nor had any intention to make anyone suffer due to delays in getting their items. We have also learnt our lessons in handling logistics and shipping-and these events cannot be repeated. Peace and Joy to all men of Goodwill!! Happy 2015 to everyone!!! |
Soyedele1:Unforeseen circumstances and events in many instances can cause problems that are hard to solve. We are working hard on resolving these problems and they are being resolved. Pick ups happened last week-some will happen today-and the rest will be delivered as well. We are in this business long term bros. We came and saw and we are going to conquer. |

I don't know how else to communicate that no one has lost their items. We have delivered items to hundreds of people-why will we not deliver to less than 20 people. We have paid for and delivered items worth close to -if not more than 5 million naira-why would we now not deliver items worth 200k that someone paid for. The moment there seems to be delay in delivery or challenges with services-it seems many just assume it is a scam or fraud. Part of the items being picked up tomorrow are iphones, laptops, playstations, sneakers, tablets. All these items are intact. We have not stolen anybody's items. Delivery has been delayed-but no one has been scammed. Some of the people who own these items assumed at one point earlier this month that they had been scammed-and declared such on the thread. Now when they pick up their items tomorrow or Tuesday-will they still have been scammed? Last week-several people picked up their items including one person picking up a brand new laptop and another person a 100k laptop-they got their items after much delays. At least one of them had declared us to be scammers and fraudsters-in not one-but several posts. Nothing has been heard from that person since he picked up. Not one word. Is suffering and poverty so widespread-that everyone has now become a scammer or fraudster? Is the world so perfect now-that no business makes any mistakes or encounters problems anymore? All those with pending items will be contacted. About 8 people picked up last week-another 9 or so will pick up this week. Items with the sea shipper belong to 6 people. No one is running away with your goods. I sincerely apologise for the frustrations you may have felt-but we are not thieves nor scammers. -We had several pick ups over the week and several people picked up. -We will be having pick ups tomorrow and possibly Wednesday as well. -We have gotten items from 2 different shippers and expect a box from one more shipper this week. One shipper is not available till after the New Year -so items from that shipper unfortunately will not be available till likely next week. It has been a frustrating few months for many of our customers. We appreciate the patience of many. All is now coming to a good conclusion. Our first 2 sea shipments were not as planned-and was very confusing at a point-we will be delivering items to their owners in a few days. Our third shipment through another shipper that left last week of November is going the right way. Items will be landing in about 2 weeks and pick up should be towards the end of January. |
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. |
Pick ups started Wednesday and will continue in the coming days. We thank everyone for their patience. |
Homguy:Thank you bro. We are in control of this situation and by the Grace of God -it will be history very soon. Some level of pick ups are starting this week and will build up. Most of our boxes have been sighted-and this alone is a measure of good news. Many mistakes were made compounded by problems beyond our control. We sincerely apologize for the delays you experienced. Even though your items have been delayed-you have been patient with us and shown great respect and maturity-we will not forget. |
First set of items from 2 shippers should be available tomorrow-pick up will be Tuesday evening or Wednesday. There is 99% assurance on this. We will be confirming contents and contacting owners Tuesday night. Pick up will likely be that same night or Wednesday afternoon. There is the possibility of another set from a 3rd shipper. We sent 2 shipments through this shipper in September and October-they have had many problems-now compounded by the NAHCO issue of the last 5 weeks. Items not picked up on Wednesday will be Saturday and after. The next 10 days will see most of these issues resolved. We are working seriously on this. Some who rather than be silent, if they cant show compassion to our customers -have made slight and fun of these issues-maybe because they have no stake -either as owners or as the seller. And some-even though they have a stake have resorted to personal attacks. These travails are temporary and are being professional and methodically tackled. All our confirmed agents/customers in the compensation plan (14 in number) can be rest assured that our compensation program will cover and handle any loss due to this long delay. We thank you for your patience and support. As agreed-we will be making available laptops to enable you quickly make back any loss. The extra long backlog have delayed their arrival. But they should be available in a few weeks as it is almost certain that the backlog at the airport will clear up and flights will resume. There may even be 2 or 3 brand new laptops gotten during Black Friday in the batch. We are going to ensure by the Grace of God that 2015 will be a profitable and prosperous year for you. Nke a ga-akwụsị ọma n'ihi na Chineke bụ na anyị n'akụkụ. |
rhames:Item is located in Ohio. Total cost will be approaching 700k-which doesnt seem to be worth it. Besides the year seems to be over the limit for importation. |
None of the shippers was able to pick up anything from the airport-but it seems there was clearance late last night. We may thus be able to do pick up on Tuesday. If pick up is done on today/Tuesday-we will contact all owners. According to the timeline of the shippers-we have had items in Nigeria since November-most of these items were held back by the NAHCO embargo and when the embargo was called off-it has become harder for shippers/agents to pick up goods. I will be contacting those with sea shipments for pick up modalities as I expect to have final word on this by Wednesday. The last few months have not gone the way it was planned. Although late-all items will be delivered to the owners. Paying for an item is not a joke-people who worked hard for their money-want to see what they paid for. We do not forget this and are working very hard to bring this sad note to a close. There is no way this can happen again as we stopped using the methods of shipping since December 15th. Please note also these news updates that are bringing into clarity what has caused some of these delays. http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2014/12/19/cargo-flights-suspended-to-lagos-airport/ https://www.nairaland.com/2052745/importers-agents-lament-congestion-lagos |
URGENTLY NEEDED Anyone who works at Customs or knows someone at Customs at the Lagos Airport. We will pay for your consultancy. All we need is to know EXACTLY how Customs charges for USPS courier that goes through EMS. We have been charged N8000 and N50,000 for the same kind of box on 2 different dates. The charges seem arbitrary. We just need to know exactly how they charge. If you have such info-please dont post here-I might not notice it. Send me an email with subject Customs. We will be happy to pay for your services. Very urgent. We will pay you in dollars or naira as you want IF YOU HAVE THE RIGHT INFO AND CONNECTIONS. |
princeuk21:Prince-thank you. Just check us in January- we are flooding Lagos with i3s, i5s, i7s, minis and dual core laptops for very low prices by the Grace of God. Cash and carry-no need to order-from as low as 12K. You will see what you are buying-test it-then you can pay for it and smile home. |
chaloner:When a customer who has not gotten his item after weeks or months of waiting-comes to the conclusion that he has been scammed in " Nairaland's Greatest Scam" -its best to look for the money and give it to him. Its one thing to be unimpressed at the service delivery of a business-but to label such a business as a scam outfit is another thing. We refunded a customer N14,000 2 days ago for a mini laptop . He was tired of hearing next week, this week. Getting the money was not easy-as the item had already been purchased and shipped -an item where our gain was barely 2k. Hopefully when the mini arrives-someone will buy it cash and carry for 20k to 25k. Refunds are not easy. We have lost over N900,000 in giving refunds. Any money paid to us through GTB -is withdrawn at an ATM in the USA and we pay heavily. The US Bank takes N600. GTB takes N1700 to N4000. depending on the amount. So if you pay us N40,000-we pay atm fees of about N4000. If we refund that money-we bear the loss of the N4000. But better to take a loss than be called a fraudster. At least we are sure that these events cannot happen again from next year. Never. |
ceasare:Bros-its not that simple. Even my main Logistic man in Lagos -Jimmy has grown tired of changing dates. This is one reason-why we have totally changed our shipping methods from January. Right now the only thing a Nigerian exporter in the USA like me knows is the date you give an item to a shipper. Nothing else is determined. I have seen items sent 2 weeks earlier arrive before items sent 1 month before. Many shippers dont give the full facts either because they dont know themselves or because its their business practice. When I tell a customer -you item will arrive on May 12th-thats because thats what the shipper told me, but NO SHIPPER that I have used has EVER DELIVERED ON THE PROMISED DATE. Some have delivered a day earlier-but most is 1 or 2 days later and in instances several days later. There are shippers who only ship when they reach their quota -but they will never tell the exporter. There are shippers who are owing the airline and have their goods held. There are shippers who are sub shippers to bigger shippers. There are shippers who for one reason or the other-just dont ship. And then there is the mighty Customs. Annoy one oga and your goods can be held for 6 months-and they will tell you do your worst. Infact -your goods can be permanently seized. Most of the shippers are good and deliver 80% to 90% of the time and hundreds of people on this thread can testify to that. Bottomline-as long as an item is shipped-we record it as shipped. Anyway all this ends this year. We have a new format from 2015. |
fashrola:Already answered sir. I love epistles. Its a word that originated from the Greek language and means Good news. And please dont forget to pay your balance to my people. Its about N10,000 now as you didnt pay for the shipping/commission of the brand new laptop + all items arrived after that. It will be calculated for you. |
confluence:Bros -your email was replied over 3 hours ago. |
I truly dont know what other language to use to explain what I have already previously posted. This is a business. We have delivered to many people on this same thread. Delays are a frequent occurrence in this business. No body is going to steal your money or products. We apologised and still apologise to anyone who has been affected by this. If you have an item ordered through us-from ebay, amazon or any website-it will be delivered . We have delivered thousands of items to thousands of people since April. If you ordered laptops from us and it has not been delivered-we expect pick ups this weekend and next week. Whatever is not delivered by then-we can make refunds for the amounts paid. We have over 100 laptops of our own-that we will be selling in Lagos pay as you go in January. There is no way we can sell laptops in Lagos if we are scamming people. Business should be smooth and stress free-but in many cases-there are unforeseen events or third parties that one has to deal with. A thief always assumes that everyone else is a thief and will try and steal from him. Fraudsters see everyone as potential victim or another fraudster. There are still people in Nigeria and in the world who prefer to work hard for their money rather than steal or defraud. Delays in delivery are not good for anyone. But delays in delivery is not fraud or scam. While I appreciate complaints. A few of the comments here are bordering on the ridiculous. Someone had money paid to his account from Ibadan and he is asking if Lagtech is in Ibadan? How am I supposed to pay the money? From the GTB branch in Washington DC or in Minneapolis? We have been making payments for a long time. When people bid on ebay or attempt to buy things online and they loose the auction -the money is always refunded and the refund is done in Nigeria by a trusted hand. Then someone said -maybe I have ran from the USA? Run from where and from whom? For what purpose. We are sorry for all delays and mix ups-and are working hard to resolve these issues-but I ask that everyone use their superior reasoning and analytical skills to figure out this issue for themselves. -Why would a business that has delivered over N5 million worth of products to people run away with 35+ laptops ordered via air cargo -Why would a business that has refunded lost ebay bids of over N2 million naira run away because of pending payments -Why would a business that has over 300 laptops already shipped to Nigeria to sell direct to customers from January run away because it has not delivered 35+ laptops. -Why would a business with over 300 customers on nairaland and several hundreds more outside Nairaland abandon ship because its items have been delayed. -Why would a business that has delivered over 400 laptops to different people on nairaland in different cities -now close shop and run because 35+ of its laptops have not been delivered. Yes people who ordered items weeks and months ago and have not gotten them-have a right to be angry-no matter the excuse we give. They can even sue us to court. But for some people to now call this fraud begs the question: is there something else that we are not been told? Is there some other agenda? This business is not for everyone. There are many businesses in the world-not all can work for everyone. We have offended many customers by our practices and methods-we dont expect them to patronise us again-but we also have many many customers who continue to make orders from us. Lagtech is Lagos Technologies-our goal is to help people get items for the lowest prices possibly. We are in Nigeria to stay. We are not closing. Anyone thinking that Lagtech is going down-will be heavily shocked by a rude awakening. We have not even started business yet-the last 6 months has taught us many lessons and like wisemen-we are solidifying our business. We will deliver all items ordered or give refunds. We will open offices in Nigeria. There are over 500 laptops sitting in a warehouse in the USA waiting to be shipped to Nigeria plus over 30 boxes of iphones, parts, electronics-the sellers are just waiting for us to pick them up for $10 a piece-. These items will land in Nigeria. We will be selling in January 2015, in February 2015 and every month of 2015 by the Grace of God. If you have complaints-its your right to make them. But I cant keep responding to ridiculous statements like: Lagtech has run away. Lagtech is in Kano. Lagtech is on the moon. Lagtech where are you? Cool down-you will get your items or refund-its for you. My wealth will not be be built on stolen money. I have never stolen in my life, never cheated, never offered a bribe even whilst living in Nigeria (Newsflash: There are millions of Nigerians who dont steal, dont scam, dont do 419 and dont give or take bribes). We have serious issues with our shippers, the shipping process and our initial approach to this business. I ship almost every week to Canada, India, UK, Ghana,Australia without any issues or stories. Importation to Nigeria will get better and smoother. We have sold just one Apple laptops for N250,000. We have sold just one HP i7 laptop for N180,000. We have sold a batch of laptops for N900,000-we are not going to run away with your N1000, N5000 or N70,000 or N300,000. To reply insult with insult will make me no different from those who make the insults. Make your complaints-but please as gentlemen -without insults. One dresses for a wedding before going there. If we want to be millionaires and billionaires in all currencies-lets act with class. You can be angry-but it can be with maturity. I didnt know you 1 year ago and in 1 year's time-we may not know each other anymore. If your items are held in delays by a shipper or agent or customs-the one guarantee I can give you is that we are accountable for it-you will get your item or your item back. Hundreds of people have gotten their items in days. This has been our practice. I REPEAT AGAIN: Whatever items cannot be picked up this weekend and next week-we will make refunds for those who want it. To those who have had faith in us and this business-we are in this business to stay. We have learnt from the challenges of this business and can only improve. We have delivered items to hundreds of people-we will continue to do so. |
humblesteve:Replied. |
papiforreal:God prosper the works of your hands. |
confluence:Bros-you are always talking about ignoring you. Even people that paid 1k-we dont ignore-why will I now ignore a big oga. Check your email address-there is not one email you sent to me that I have not replied. All your questions I have answered multiple times. We expect multiple pick ups from this weekend. Any item ordered from us that we cant pick up in the next 2 pick ups-we will make refunds-so that people no longer have to wait. When the items are eventually picked up-we can sell them to you or anyone else. |
Xtfield:Sir this is not really fair to me at all. It seems every other week-you come here to post and cast aspersions on my person. In over 4 months-you have emailed me just 3 times-but have posted more than 3 times in the last 1 month. Whereas in the past you emailed almost every day- Lagtech pick this from Craigslist -Lagtech pick that up from Craigslist. I have constantly apologized to you about this delay. Why would we purposely delay people's items. Does it make any sense not to deliver items quickly? How do we get repeat business when original orders are not deliverd? Your sea shipment items left in July were supposed to land around September ending to October. Standard sea shipping is 4 to 6 weeks from New York and up to 3 months from mid USA and the California area. On paper-your items are several weeks later than the agreed date sir. I understand if you are not happy about the slowness of our service-but to cast aspersion on my integrity is not right. There are items that have been delayed at the ports for months upon months-no one calls the agent or shipper a scam artist. I suffered for you sir. Driving hundreds of miles at times to pick up large boxes of books without even getting advance payment. While charging $30 commission as craigslist transactions-we charged you $100 flat rate per month-sometimes picking up 10 or more times a month for you-meaning we were charging you $10 or less-all because we assumed that since the items were for a school-we dont need to charge you to make a profit. And in almost every case-you paid weeks after the job had been done. As of today-we are still being owed by you almost 30k from August/September. All the last pick ups I did for you-you have not paid me commission nor petrol cost. Not once did I bother you or cast aspersion on your dignity and integrity. For almost 2 months I didnt hear from you-not a single email. You then emailed saying that one of the parents in your school had given you a bad cheque-so you could not pay me-but NOT ONCE did I email you or chase you for the money owed for jobs done. We have not stolen your goods sir-all the books and items we got for you are yours. By the Grace of God your items will be picked up and we can all rest from this. |
