Nigerian author and lawyer, Reno Omokri has called out the church to feed the poor, win souls, and not have financial breakthroughs on the lives of its members.

According to him, the main objective of the church is to win souls for Christ and as such, they should stick to the goal of seeking out the lost and saving souls for God.

Reno Omokri wrote: Churches should feed the poor. The poor shouldn’t feed pastors. The essence of Christianity is to win souls, not financial breakthrough. Christ following is about salvation, not wealth. What shall it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul

If Christ was physically alive on Earth today, would today’s flamboyant Christians consider Him a true Minister of God, seeing as he walked on foot, fed the poor (and wasn’t fed by the poor) and mixed with Samaritans who did not share His religion?

Denmark announced on Thursday it will temporarily suspend the use of the coronavirus vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford.

The Danish Health Authority said it would temporarily stop using the shot in its vaccination program as a precaution “after reports of severe cases of blood clots in people who have been vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine from AstraZeneca.”

“Against this background, the European Medicines Agency has launched an investigation into the AstraZeneca vaccine. One report relates to a death in Denmark. At present, it cannot be concluded whether there is a link between the vaccine and the blood clots,” the health authority said in a statement.

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, on Tuesday, said his office had neither ordered an investigation nor was it investigating the former Lagos governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Malami, while speaking on Channel Television program Sunrise Daily, said as the nation’s chief law officer, he has not ordered any probe of the former governor of Lagos State and has no plans to do so.

Prominent Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi has again renewed his calls for bandits to be granted amnesty.

Sheikh Gumi noted that he sees no reason why bandits repentance shouldn’t be accepted if coup plotters and those that instigated the civil war could be forgiven.

He said, “I see no reason why we can not accept their (bandits) repentance and give them amnesty. You ask why do we give them amnesty but they told us specifically that they are ready to drop their arms and they don’t want to be pursued with legal actions after they repented.

Nigerians on social media have called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to investigate the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, for money laundering.

The monarch had said $2 million and N17 million were stolen when youths attacked his palace on October 21, 2020 in the violence that erupted after the #EndSARS protests.

Oba Akiolu, whose staff of office known as the ‘Opa Ase’, was also taken away by hoodlums who broke into his palace during the riot, spoke on Wednesday in Lagos.

He said, “I will support anything that will move Lagos forward. I have appealed to the Federal Government to assist Lagos with what we have suffered. The incident that happened here from October 20th to 23rd is so saddening.
