hello
it depends on the school, some schools start summer application from sept-nov while others start by nov-jan 15(dates depend on the school you intend to applying to). resumption for summer should be around late feb-april, some might consider late resumption for May. admission notification is sent out three days or sometimes a week or two or more(depends on the school once again to decide) after the application deadline has passed.
same as winter here, it depends on the school your applying to but usually winter starts from march-july or feb-july. few schools might decide to extend their dates to august 15(like in the case of Rhine waal) for winter application deadline. mostly resumption for some schools for winter semester is from sept-oct or aug-oct. Although some schools might even extend for some students till Nov 15(each school with their mood of operation). Admission notification is sent out two days, a week or two or three weeks or even a month after application deadline has passed.
As for the letter of Proof of Engilsh Proficiency exemption i can't say much on that as i got mine from my department(i dont know how your school operates) but its not that difficult to get as you can make inquiries from your department(HOD) or Admin on how to get it. its just a letter written to show that you studied your Bsc in english language(maybe even your sec school too) And yes the letter can be used as some schools accept it...(you can Pm me for a sample of what my own letter looks like)
feel free to always ask your questions here.they're all nice and will answer you gladly, and you can also Pm me or anyone here who has passed your present stage and is well experienced on certain issues. this is also why this thread was created.

#CHEERS!!! smiley

Thank you for the detailed response. God bless.

Good day guys, you all are doing a great job here.

Please i want to get a complete understanding of the admission and resumption timelines for master programs in Germany so i can plan accordingly.

Please, when does the winter and summer admission begin and ends, and when are the students expected to resume?

I will also like to know how i can get the documentary evidence that my Bsc. was taught in English from my school. What does the document look like, is it gotten from your department or from Admin.? Can a letter from my departments be used?
And please, is the letter accepted by most schools?

Thanks.

If you had an error free view, you should have aired it without trying to sound supercilious. In the initial stages of applying for the programme, your sponsor can affirm their support of your academic endeavour by giving you a recent account statement and coupling it with a letter of sponsorship. However, if you read all the parts of my last post, I said it would be better if you show proof of funds with your own account statement showing the equivalent of the required amount. Thus, your sponsor will transfer said amount to your account from the initial stage of application

Attached are the requirements for admission into a master's degree programme in the University of Stavanger

Nice clarification...good job!

Yes they can do that too but which do you think will be more convincing and require less stories? Choose your pick smiley

Lol, i get your point. having the funds in your own account is better.

Yes it is.

They just have to show commitment by depositing the said amount in your account

OK. I think the sponsor doesn't necessarily need to transfer the funds to your account...
He/she can present their own bank statements, they just need to write a letter of sponsorship too.

Oh that's nice

I think its the latter, but anyhow the most important thing is that you're interested and I'm interested. Which school do you want to apply to?

NTNU, UiB, UiO or Norwegian University of Life Sciences.

What about you??

Hmmmm....how do you even intend to send the transcripts abroad with the impending ASUU strike sad

I think its possible to do that. The strike only affects Acedemics Staffs, and transcripts processing is handled by non-academic staffs.

Went to my school today, and was able to get my certificate. I also successfully applied for my transcripts, although to a local destination just so i can have a personal hardcopy of it because my school no longer issue transcripts by hand.

PS: why is this thread so dry now, are people no longer interested in Norway or it is because the admission process has not started?
Travel / Re: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by Lalaski001: 8:04pm On Aug 14, 2017
My school charges 35k to send transcripts abroad, Damn!!!

This will definitely affect the number of schools i will apply to.

Plz does anyone know what it will cost to send your transcripts through courier to Norway

OK oh. Google should have easily helped you. I already knew that before coming.
I guess you wanted to hear first hand that people have travelled around schengen hitch free. Well that's the case. I've been to several countries within schengen. I'll be going to three countries in a few days time for my brief summer vacation. So there lies your answer.
It's even much easier to travel around schengen than to travel around Ecowas. Cos here you don't go to border control and you don't show passport. You just stroll in like it's a Lagos to Abuja flight.

Thanks bro, really appreciate...

Lol. Some people can be really funny you know.
I was thinking of unfollowing this thread if I come online and keep seeing silly questions. But I felt it's better to ignore and move on for the sake of those who might REALLY need help. So maybe you should try same approach.

Thanks for not unfollowing the thread...

But i really don't think my question is funny, i have read through this thread from page 1 till the last page, the question i asked was not asked or answered anywhere...

Yes, he gave me an answer, but I don't think its wrong to ask for more response from other people...

Decision will be made based on the info we are all getting here, so double checking shouldn't push anyone off.

Thanks for ur response, and plz don't ignore when you can assist and don't unfollow the thread.

What else do you need? Your question has been answered unambiguously and in no uncertain terms.

Why not do a simple Google search if you still have doubts. You are just spamming the thread now.

I don't mean to spam, just wanted to get more response from more people or maybe a link, because i intend to make a decision based on the reply.

Thanks for ur reply, am grateful.

Absolutely possible. Norway is a schengen country. So a Norwegian valid permit grants you access to other 25 schengen countries for 90 days

This will really be nice if true...

Thanks for your reply.

Would really appreciate another firsthand answer from anyone who has studied in Noway before or currently studying, that was able to travel to other Schengen countries with just his/her Norwegian study permit.

Please, I hv been trying to get information on the possibility of visiting other Schengen countries with your Norwegian study permit/visa, but I can't seem to get any direct answer on that.

Is it possible to visit Schengen Countries with your study permit without applying for a visit visa

skarlett!! chop knuckle!!

Now about your transcript issue:

You can apply to have it sent to your office, or any organization you are close to, then you get it sealed before anyone opens it.
she's right about being able to afford the transcript fees for all the schools though. It will drain your pocket, but having several admission options is worth it.

Thanks for the input.

That's why I said you should be ready financially to pursue the admission on all ends, there is no way you can go around paying money for sending your transcripts to all the schools you are interested in applying to

Thanks dear, I am grateful!

I'm assuming you got your first degree in Nigeria. If that is the case using my own school as a point of reference, you are supposed to pay a certain amount to have your transcript sent to the school directly. It may take a while so it will probably be wiser to send it early. But you can send it at the start of the application deadline, so that before it closes the transcript would have reached them. Endeavour to follow up the process the Nigerian way i.e by making friends with the people in the exams and records office to be certain your transcript is delivered.

Print the online copy, you may or may not certify it, that depends on what they want, and scan it.

Thanks again for ur promt response...

The online transcript method doesn't give me any access to the transcripts, it only allows me to just put-in the name of the school I want to send it to, and they will just forward it to the school directly.

Also, since i am looking at applying to more than one school, its means i will be paying the transcripts fee times the numbers of schools i will be applying to since the online transcript portal allows only one school per request. Really want to know if there is a way around this?.
Thanks.

Yes you can

No there isn't so far you have the cash to pursue the admission on all ends.

It is compulsory in schools like University of Oslo but other Universities like UiS, UiA and UiB still exempt Nigerian candidates from English proficiency tests.

A simple google search will help you with an answer to this

Your GPA is quite good and if you do very well in the English proficiency test, you stand a better chance of being admitted. But to be on the safe side, you can apply to other schools since there's no application form fee

Google will help you with an answer to this

You're welcome smiley

Wow, thanks alot for the promt and comprehensive reply. God bless!

Plz i hv another question, can i request for my school to send my transcripts to the schools i am applying to before the admission process begins?
I don't know how Long it will take the transcripts to get to them, so i am planning to send it early, even before admissions begin if possible.

And again, my school only runs an online transcript system, so I can't hv access to the hard copy, and University of Oslo requires me to also send scanned copies of my transcripts to them even though my school will send the original official transcripts directly to them.

Thanks to all the contributors on this thread

Plz I need some clarifications on the following;

1, Can i apply to 2 different courses in the same school at the same time??

2, Is there a limit to the number of schools i can apply to??

3, It seems the English test is now compulsory??

4, whats the difference between universities and university college??

Am looking at University of Oslo, but most of the courses relating to what I want to study only take about 15 students per session. Should i be worried??
My GP is Around 4.00

Are there other good schools in Oslo i can consider??

I hv a Bsc in Geography and Meteorology, and i want to do masters in Remote sensing or something related.

Thanks.
