Alright , I guess there's no point trying to convince anyone that test was written. I'd still say you can keep doubting, because your mind have been conditioned and decide to go for your interview without being prepared.
I wouldn't try to convince you, and you can choose not to believe.

Well, I didn't ask you to convince me, I only asked a follow up question to get a better understanding of what you said.

Also, the fact that I asked those questions doesn't mean I am not prepared for the text.

All I am saying is that, it is highly unlikely that all the 3 persons that went in before you were giving tests, were going for Masters and they all had the time to tell you personally that they gave them test.

You refused to mention the category of visa you applied for. and if it's for studies, you didn't tell us if it's for BSc.

Anyways, nobody is saying you are lying, we just want facts here.

I had an interview last week and the three persons who went in before me (masters students) were given a test, one in particular said a math test and the course he was going for wasn't even science related I guess he called it international management. in fact they spent longer time and came out sweating.
I'd say be prepared for anything.

How sure are you about this??

are you sure those guys that were giving test are going for MSC?..
How did you know they were giving test? Apart from the one you mentioned that said he was going for international management, did the other 2 persons tell you personal that they gave them test too or you just assumed so because of the time they spent.
From all the transcripts I have seen here since summer, nobody has mentioned anything about test.

For you to now have 3 persons going for Msc. doing tests in a particular day doesn't sound too correct.

are you going for Msc too??

Yes it's not online. The best way to prepare for the exam is to read as many text as possible. B2-C1 standard texts. Your grammar should also be B2-C1 standard.

Look for other Studienkolleg's sample questions and practice with them. Note that the sample questions are much simpler than the real exam.

There's also listening exercise to be precise dictation. Someone has to read out a text and you have to write it down. The text would be dictated twice. I don't have any special tips for preparing for the dictation, if your hören is good, you are good to go otherwise you will find it hard especially if you find listening exercises hard.

You have to pass both the C-test and the dictation to be admitted.

Don't worry much if you fail, they do offer German course that would prepare you for the exam next time. You have to be realistic, like I said before it's very likely for someone applying from Nigeria to fail the exam.

While preparing, also look for a plan b if you don't pass the exam.

Don't see the last part as me being negative lipsrsealed, I failed my first studienkolleg entrance exam before I made it the second time grin.

Be realistic! wink.

If you have any questions just ask here, I might send you some text we currently handle in Studienkolleg if you are interested in seeing what a B2-C1 standard texts look like. I also have a Grammatik book that might be helpful!.

I'm always willing to help out Studienkolleg hopefuls grin..

Have you abandoned your diary??

You have not giving us any update for a while now.

Hello, So I set out this week to try and fund my blocked account. Went to standard chartered and after dilly dallying for 24 hrs, they refused to process my form A. The reason given was; it is going to an account in my name and not the schools name. Left them and went to Ecobank after a couple of hours I was asked to get a letter from my school stating that I needed a blocked account in Germany. Well at this point I just decided to use black and blue market funds the difference is 3.5 to 4 naira form A bank rate was 424.5 black market is 428 to 429 Bought some Euro yesterday at this rate . Please any blue market person in Germany that can offer within these rates pls contact me via PM asap thanks. If you want to fund using form A at Ecobank pls make sure you go with a letter from your school stating you need a block account and the amt should be stated. Hope this helps someone.

Thanks for this info.

Yea, it is a must to have a letter from your school stating the breakdown of your living expenses for the banks to process form A for you .

I think the form A and the black market rates are ok. I was using 440 to do my calculations before.

A quick one guys...

Please is it possible to use my office address on the prepaid envelop which is different from my residential address on all my other documents.

Because of work, I may not be at home when they come to deliver and there is no one around to collect the package on my behalf.

Will the embassy allow a different address on the prepaid envelop

Please guys, I was thinking I could get DHL prepaid envelope from any of their drop-off/pick-up points here in Lagos, but the lady I met there said I can only get it from their head office in Isolo and she said they don't open on Saturdays (I don't know how true this is)

Due to work, I won't be able to go to isolo on a weekday.

Please if anyone here knows any other location on the mainland where I can get the prepaid envelops please let me know.

it can be UPS, FEDEX or DHL.

So I received a rejection today from the University of Bonn for a course they jointly run with United Nations University. It's an Environmental Science course with lots of internships with United Nations and the possibility of them employing you on a full time basis after your studies. ( I like courses that have compulsory internships).

Even though I have not made my final Decision on which school to enrol at from the admission I already have and the ones I am still expecting, this particular rejection was very painful. It was the first application I ever made to Germany and I applied for the course since November last year, so it took them more than six months, a second stage Skype interview (which I believe I did well in) to finally decide not to give me the admission.

The decision was really hard to take. The sad part was that I actually met their requirement just that too many people applied for the same course and they only needed just 25 students so they had to just randomly select and reject the others. I was even asked to apply again when the application opens again which means that there was nothing wrong with me application.

From my experience, I think most courses under environmental sciences and natural sciences in general usually have limited spaces of about 15 to 25 students per semester. So, there is usually a tough challenge to get the admission especially when the school is not under Uniassist which means more people will usually apply because its free.

Anyways, I won't let it weigh me down for long. My interview is later this month, and I need to focus on that for now.

Lmao grin grin

Threaten?. I don't even know who you people are, no shade.

Oya aspirants I wish you all well. I always post as it is, no sugarcoating undecided.

I think I should write about the not so good side of living in Germany sef, it won't be today though. Just one day, make no nobody bash me undecided, cause that's what some of you do when such post is made undecided.

I prefer the tone you used here compared to your last response on this topic.

Anyone that thinks it's always going to be a smooth sailing from the start to finish will only have his or herself to blame.

What we are asking for is an unbaised information on the realities on ground. We need people that will give us a balanced view about Germany that will contain the good, the bad and the ugly - and if possible, how to balance the different sides.

It is certain that we all are going to make important decisions before and during out studies in Germany, we just want our decisions to be as informed as possible.

Thanks.

Hello ladys and Gs.

Please I think we need more stories and experience sharing about studying and living in Germany for students, especially from those that are already there. Honestly I need real experiences especially the not so pleasant once, we literally know all the positive stories. Hence I really need to hear the unpleasant once so as to prepare ahead on how to tackle them or if possible avoid them.

We need to know those myths and untrue fantasy about studying in Germany. And also what happens after studies.

It is better to live like there is hell. So eventually if there is no hell it will be a bonus. If there is one we will be prepared, instead of playing the ostrich.

Veterans please we need those stories to prepare our mind ahead.

Thanks

Seconded!

We used to get post from our brethrens already in Germany about the current situation of things on the ground. I really don't know why they stopped posting.

Please, for the guys on ground, we know how difficult it can be to juggle your schedules and still make out time to keep us informed here, but, please, we still need you guys to at least give us updates every now and then.

You can tell us about you city, possibility of getting student jobs, how far you have gone in learning the language, your course, general information and myths that need to be debunked, etc.

Thanks.

My Transcript.

Arrived Bonny Camp by 5:00 after leaving Sangotedo, after Ajah by 4:30 am. Didn't feel like going to stand while queuing, so I went to a branch of my place of work to relax. Got back to the embassy by 6:15. Met some 12 people on the queue already. You know how it is na, my body begin dey scratch me. That passport wey I talk say I no go do, I go do am o. I paid 1k for it. Got back to my queue by 6:35.

Paulinus landed. Silence in the land. He'd asked all of us to bring out our documents. Mind you, he does that batch by batch. 4 per batch.
One guy allowed the screaming get to him, he was just messing his documents up. Guys nothing bad about the man. Get all your documents right, act smart, dress smart and you gonna be fine, trust me.

I scaled all of that and went in to do my biometrics by 7:25(did that at the first office as soon as security guys scan you for metal objects). Done with biometrics and in my mind, this Nigerian lady should tell me where to go and do my interview, that was when I received my rude shock.

VO: Let's begin the interview
Me:How and why(All in my mind o. Cos I been think say them go carry me go inside na, meet that my favorite German lady to interview me, una wey know sabi wetin i dey yarn na.....lol)

VO: You learnt the language.
Me: Learning by self via YouTube and other online materials

VO: Funded?
Me: Yes.

VO: Master or Bachelor's
Me: Masters

VO: Course
Me: Economic Policy

VO: Why Germany
Me: bla bla bla

VO: Why not USA or Canada
Me: usual answer na. Premium edu at a cost that doesn't break bank or wallet

VO: Why this course
Me: told her

VO: Tell me what you know about Germany.
Me: Told her a lot and was hoping she'd stop me, she didn't o. Na him I stop o

VO: That all you know?
Me: Yes

VO: B.Sc Thesis topic
Me: Told her

VO: Tell me your findings about your thesis
Me: Told her. She had to stop me as she was inputting all of my answers

VO: That will be all
Me: Nibo!!! So fast. No be two hours una dey use. Wetin happen to other questions like tell me about your modules etc. 30 minutes never complete sef(All in my mind o)

So that was it. I give God the glory cos I wasn't found wanting in any of the areas I was asked and it indeed was a success by God's grace.

P.S-I didnt go with my transcript. When Pauly was asking for it, I did as if I had it. My point is, be smart. Don't be exposing your self and be telling him everything you didn't bring. All in all, carry everything OK.

Thanks to all the good guys who made their transcripts available for novice like myself to use to prepare. That's why am giving back to the society that gave to me when I was in need of guidance

One love
Bless up
Jesus gets the Glory outta everything.

Congrats bro for your successful interview.

Your AM will arrive very soon in Jesus name.

My interview date is fast approaching. I went to get a WAEC scratch card today, the card they sold to me was the paper type with visible serial number and pin. They said WAEC no longer produces the old scratch card.

Please I want to know if the embassy will accept this type of card. The card is genuine, I was able to check my result with it.
My only worry is that the card looks so ordinary, it's just a plain paper with the serial number and pin printed on it.

1. It is OK to fund with Fintiba now.

2. I can't say much about that cos I had someone wire into the account no oncs successfully opened it. Other gurus can probably shed more light on that.

3. The fact that the embassy mentions them should be enough to convince you.

4. Deutsche Bank is cheaper and more flexible. The con is that it's gonna take you close to 3-4 weeks to open whereas Fintiba can be opened in 3-4 days. Have you even booked for interview? If you haven't, Fintiba is your best bet. No time my brother to waste.

5. 24-48hrs.

On the third question, about confirming the authenticity of the fintiba account, I think what he is trying to know is how he can confirm, perhaps from the embassy or through any other means that the account number giving to him to transfer the funds to is legit.

We all know fintiba is one of the banks the embassy uses, he just wants to know if his own account number is Legit.
