EducationRe: 9 Reasons Why Nigerian Universities Are Better Than Polytechnics by LanrexBaba(m): 1:34pm On Feb 25, 2016
tosyne2much:
In as much as I wouldn't deny the fact that polytechnics students are considered half-baked and are unjustly discriminated. All I can say is that only a person who lacks focus will be swayed by the discriminatory comments levied against polytechnic students. However, being focused in life has nothing whatsoever to do with Bsc nor HND

As for me, circumstances led me to attend a polytechnic and I'm of the believe that it's not an excuse for not attaining greatness in life. I'm not a failure who would justify my inability to do exploits on Bsc. Certificate is just a stepping stone that creates opportunity. It's not that someone's destiny is tied to Bsc or HND

What matters most is personal development and I have developed myself in such a way that most of my friends with Bscs as well as people I meet on a daily basis find it extremely difficult to match up with my horizon especially when we get to do things together (I'm not bragging, it's just the pure truth). So whether you give 1000 reasons as to why university students are better than polytechnic students, for all I care because I know determined to going places

Hardwork is the key to success.. You can't be lazy and unproductive thinking that your Bsc will do the magic. Other the other hand, you can't be lazy and unproductive and lazy thinking that your HND will do the magic. I don't get worked up over things like this. Some illiterates and living in luxury because they were able to get their priorites right

The more we stop placing so much emphasis on certificate, the greater our chances of achieving greatness in a country where poverty/joblessness is on the increase.
May God bless you..you have said it all.

PoliticsRe: Defeating Boko Haram Will Be A Long Fight – US by LanrexBaba(m): 8:06pm On Feb 21, 2016
ozoigbondu:
The United States government has said the fight against Boko Haram insurgents will be a long fight.

It therefore called on academics and think tanks to assist in resolving the Boko Haram crisis by finding out the underlying causes of the insurgency.

Speaking recently at the Capitol Visitor Centre, US House of Representatives in Washington, the US Assistant Secretary, Bureau of African Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, said the ongoing battle against the terrorist group would require perseverance and huge resources.

“We need academics to help us understand the underlying conditions that led to Boko Haram. We need think tanks to identify creative solutions. We need the business community to help bring investments in the region and to create jobs and spur greater economic development in the affected areas. We need our ambassadors. We need our African ambassadors based here in Washington to advocate for more resources in the fight against Boko Haram, and greater cooperation among the Lake Chad Basin countries.

“This will be a long fight that requires perseverance, and it is going to require strong resources. We all know the stakes are high. We know what the stakes are. But now is the time — now is the time for us to work together with our African partners to redouble our efforts to defeat Boko Haram and create the bright future — and it’s a bright future that all of the people of Africa deserve. But I would say in this case, particularly, a bright future for the people of northern Nigeria and the Lake Chad Basin,” the US official said.

According to Thomas-Greenfield, there is hardly any protest whenever people are killed in Nigeria and other countries in Africa.

She noted that in the US people protest human rights violations but that “there’s rarely a protest every single day when we hear that Boko Haram is killing people.”

“The outcry in Nigeria and internationally over the killings of the Chibok school girls was impressive – but it was slow. We waited to hear what people would say. Those protests, once they started, helped greatly to raise awareness of Boko Haram’s brutality. But they were only a start. We must say something,” she said.

It's a faceless forum, we don't know who is who. Even laveda wey get unappealing face for her dp, her face might be appealing in real life.

I don't know anyone in person. Because you type good english here doesn't mean everything abt you is flawless. Even obioraaa that is forming badoo here can be a shy person in real life. We are just having fun here.
Though I'm new here but I think I shall marry cruzita
I imagined the illusion in reality. So who would you marry? Judging by the character they portray here.
