This APC Chairman may be taking his luck too far. A BBC exposiré showed how the 2023 Presidential Elections was heavily manipulated in Rivers state, In Lagos, when the results began trickling in and LP had significant voter numbers on Lagos Island, Thugs began to attack perceived LP strongholds so election results wouldn't be coalites especially within Oshodi- Isolo and Amuwo. The APC Chairman is not getting his analysis right. |

As a person of sane mind, kindly ignore the rhetorics and over-ambitious statements of the propagandists and story spinners who are in the majority under the PBAT Administration. The justification for the PMS subsidy removal and FX unification was stated as saving the economy $10B & $15B respectively per annum. The savings was to be ploughed back into the economy through investments in infrastructure, education, health and reducing the debt profile which was N87 Trillion when PBAT took over power. Presently, the savings from the removal of the hydra- headed twin policies is on a month-on-month basis being shared by sub-nationals who have nothing commiserate to show for it except over-bloated and over inflated projects which have little or no impact on the citizenries' life. Governor's have become overnight billionaires in both Naira and Dollars terms with humongous allocations coming to their states whilst the rural population remain in a despondent situation. NECA and MAN in Q4 2024 reported that 8,000 SMEs and NANO businesses closed shops or moved-out of Nigeria as a result of the twin policies which negatively affected their margins and operating costs. The shock of the inflation, the huge level of unemployment, unproductivity and cost of living crisis has made the attainment of the $1trn a big mirage. 11 Likes |

I would advise sensible and well meaning Nigerians to avoid listening to people like this. ADC will sweep parts of the North as the core Northerns are sympathetic towards Atiku. This is a joke and an assault on the sensibility of hardworking and progressive Nigerians who are caught in the biggest poverty trap in Nigeria's recorded history. From rent, school fees, to cost of transportation and daily survival Nigerians have become excruciatingly poorer and the President thinks he is making progress ? Enough of the shenanigans ! Let the President know that his twin Policies of subsidy removal and FX rate unification which was not sequenced properly is likely going to cause him his second term. To add to the pain he added the Electricity Tariff increase. That's the Truth. A honest approval rating for the President can't win him 30% as at today. After 26 months Mr. President, the campaign is over ! and we have been expecting effective governance which is in short supply. I can tell that it will take a miracle for this Government to record an impactful breakthrough in the lives of over 100m multidimensionally poor Nigerians. 1 Like |

in a saner clime, they should reduce the powers of Governors in Nigeria by removing the immunity clause. This particular Governor should be ashamed to make such public statements. This Governor earns the highest allocation in the whole country and has done next to nothing in his state to show the humongous volume of funds through FAAC, Ecological Fund and 13% derivation that he receives. Nigeria didn't happen to him, I read his story online yesterday. He will get a better rewarding Job very soon, probably before the year runs out and on a higher paying scale. International recruiters have seen his profile and taken note. Nigerians still has the most in-demand Tech-enlightened ecosystem in the entire black race. International recruiters in the last 12 months have gone on a demand overdrive for Nigerian Talents for Tech-Services like Virtual Assistants, Copywriters, Cyber Security, UI & UX, Data Analyst and AI tech experts. In developed countries like the US, UK, Canada, Australia and the EU zone talents usually demand for higher wages whilst Africans can work remotely and effectively on the same role at a lower wage rate to the recruiter. An example is minimum wage per hour in Canada for a tech expert is $20 per hour and a Nigerian will be satisfied with $10 per hour whilst being more committed and devoted to same role albeit remotely leading to lower cost of labour for the foreign employer. The Presidential Elections in any election cycle world-over is the most difficult to manipulate and rig. PBAT unfortunately knows this fact ! To rig at that scale you will need to recruit additional 20m uniformed personnel to match the large estimated population of over 190m Nigerians. The reasons why the Gubernatorial Elections & off-cycle elections are easily manipulated is as a result of the deployment of heavy detachments of security personnel in those areas. I personally think its a de-service and shame to openly mock Nigerians on the phony revenues being touted by the PBAT regime. Mr. Taiwo Oyedele -Chairman Presidential Taskforce on Tax and Fisical Reforms revealed that 40% of VAT now realised are gotten majorly from Telcos & Banks . The Customs and Excise Tax that has discouraged people from importation and the few goods that come in through the ports are over-inflated above the reach of the average Nigeria as a result of the devalued FX benchmarked Customs duty rate. e.g a 40 Feet Container which was N14M for Custom duties in 2023 now cost close to N35m to clear in 2025. The PBAT regime is a Tax to stupor regime creating a humongous illusion with a devalued Naira. One Banking Transaction (Transfer or mobile enquiry) in Nigeria is heavily taxed same with call and data rates on Telcos. Same as Corporate Income Tax on loss-making organisation. The Petroleum Profit Tax is also denominated in FX ($) and collected by the FIRS which when converted looks humongous in Naira and reported like a significant breakthrough.
