Wallie: Roles differ for different types of aircraft. The B2 is not designed to be a fighter like the F-15. Your enemy's capability will determine the type of weapons you deploy. Also, you just don't deploy a single weapon; you attack from the air, sea, land, and digital realm. Thanks for saving me the trouble of typing extra. You done talk am finish |
Ahuitzotl: So as most SAMs can reach altitudes of up to 10km and range of 20km, there isnt any need to sight the enemy before launching.Either way, aircrafts these days are very vulnerable to guided surface fire, especially high altitude long range projectiles.I foresee the next air war to be on a juncture as to who deploys the most advanced SAM batteries....Not the most expensive Aircrafts. I agree to a point... that advanced missiles will be the test of military aircrafts not the price tag. However, I believe military strategies coupled with appropriate machinery to execute operations wins a war. 'Cos those planes are expensive for some reasons - extensive research, advanced... weapons development, ECM, maneuverability, stealth, speed, lift capacity etc. And crafts of war aren't deployed without appropriate intel to ensure efficient execution of objective(s) and survival of operators. Imagine deploying a B2 bomber to intercept bogeys... while an F-22 is charged with bombing. Chances of success very slim. So yes, there're missiles up to the task but the aircraft to be deployed is a function of the strategy. And deployment isn't about the cost but how success is certain. That's why those developed countries only sell their wares to allies. By the way, medium-range missiles don't pack much speed... The delivery is often centred on reducing cost to the minimum without sacrificing efficiency. The death package is where an exceptions is... like in the case of ICBMs. |
Ahuitzotl: Where is the wisdom buildin such expensive hardware when they can be shoot down by SAM sites which cost less than 1/10 to set up....Except they come with Standard ECM... Com'on. You don't think they woulda factored all manners of enemy weaponry into their designs. I doubt those aircrafts have standard ecms... talk about Advanced Electronic Counter Measures. However, each of them is built for a different role. The B2 Spirit was designed to be a bomber only. It doesn’t need to hug terrain to deliver its package. |

First we called Nigerian politicians THIEVES, figuratively. Now, they are, literally, THIEVES. They're not just robbing Nigeria of her resources but also her citizens. APC, PDP and the rest of them are THIEVES. It's no news that they are not in politics for service to the people but to fill their pockets with public funds. |
Isk: I have a conspiracy theory as regards the offline situation. Just before the " hack " there was a serious allegation of work permit scam against one nlder by another ndler and many people were of the opinion that one of the moderators had a hand in the scam. Is it possible that someone, in order to save face and protect himself / herself, tot it would be a good idea to wipe out all the site's data so that if a police investigation was carried out, there would be no strong evidence to trace back to nl? Cos the lady was relentless and nlders were anxious to get the truth and help the lady. Some even wanted to help her pursue the case in court. After reading your post, it'd be moronic to assume the cyber attack on Nairaland is merely a coincidence. A story Seun should investigate.Regardless... Inviting Nigeria Police without gathering enough facts to tell if a scam was truly carried out with the involvement of a Nairaland Moderator will certainly spell doom for the site. Nigeria Police is sadly... infamous. |
CERKEYNAH: Asalaam Aleykun ummu's. I want u all 2 say Alhamdulilah n thank Allah 4 me trillions time. i've bin sick a yl now, I did so many tests c confirmed dt I'm pregnant.Congrats sis. Make you invite us when the bundle of joy arrive o. I trust say Menu-menu go plenty well well lol |

Holy Crap! I can't believe people are still trying to hook up with this lady after all these years. It just butresses my point that Nairaland Is an e-community of morons, educated illiterates, immoral youth with nothing on their mind but SEX. JEEEZ! YOU ALL SHOULD GET A LIFE. |
One other means to rid yourself of that pesky notification Is formatting. 'Hurts that you're gonna lose some of your data though. Just make sure you save your precious files in My Documents folder before formatting. |
Beennkumar: Okay. Thanks for the explanation, but can you please translate the bolded? The emphasy means: A self-proclaimed dangerous entity meets a trully dangerous entity. The self-proclaimed dangerous being now knows what it means to be in danger. Now he begs, cos he doesn't want to die. |

LOOKING FOR A TRADE IN(IKOTUN, LAGOS STATE) I've five units of desktop CPUs: 2 HP, 2 Dell and 1 IBM. Each of them has RAM of 512MB and 40GB HDD except one Dell with 80GB, one HP with 120GB . 3 flat-screen monitors, 4 keyboard-&-mouse units and power cables. ONLY ONE OF THE CPUs has a DVD ROM drive, the others have no drive. But they're all working. THEY'RE NOT DEAD PCs, THEY'RE ALL WORKING. EQUIPMENT OF WOUND UP CYBER CAFE. I'll trade all for a used laptop of 2.0 - 2.4GHz, 150GB(minimum) HDD, 2GB RAM. Brand is insignificant. Please text or call 08035801686 |
Beennkumar: Can someone please explain what's going on there?"The masquerade was, probably, harrassing pedestrians and extorting with the help of its cronies.". The police arrested them for a reason and for some reason they must be guilty of the charge(whatever it is) to lie in that posture 'cos it looks like a plea. My thoughts: "Ara oruun ri ara aiye to fe ran pada si orun. Ara orun ba mu ebe be. Nitori aiye dun ju orun lo" |
Majority of Nigerians are odd people. Most of our opinions are driven not by intelligence but by, either or both, ethnic sentiments and extremely ignorant utterances. the argument for criminals to be given a slap on the wrist or encouraged (because there are worse criminals in the society is nothing but sheer IDIOCY. To those IDIOTS, would you say the government should let go a murderer just because there are POLITICIANS that killed people to get to the top or for rituals. If the polity disregards the need for heeding the law regardless of government's stancd on same, do you think the society will survive the consequent CHAOS? The lad could have thought of instituting a unique web application to fetch him money, legitimate money, but he chose otherwise so he should be jailed (as a deterrent to wannabes). By the way he is a webdesigner not a hacker or cracker. he only CLONED the original sites to scam novice surfers. IT DOESN'T TAKE A GENIUS TO DO THAT. |
Majority of Nigerians are an odd bunch. Its odd that some people expect more from Tecno D5(3g wise) when they should just buy Tecno M3. Typical Nigerians?!?! |
Nigerians are strange. It's, somewhat, unpatriotic of Nigerians to sympathize with Oprah. First of all, she aint poor so i think the attendant's statement shoulda been amusing to her. Secondly, she should have asked to meet the manager to complain, it still wouldn't constitute making a scene. Third, why do we SYMPATHIZE with the same woman who branded us A NATION OF FRAUDSTERS. I guess she figures it hurts to be considered what one is not. Sadly, she won't hurt as much as Nigerians when she called us ALL what we are not. |
The CLIMAX - Venezuela and Nicaraguas' offers of asylum to Snowden is an opportunity that is gonna slip away if he waits too long. Most members of the Russian Parliament are uneasy about Snowden pitching up tent in their airport lounge. Snowden will be wise to just marry a Russian. The Guardian reports Anna Chapman(one of the Russian sleeper agents deported from the US in 2010) has proposed to him. I consider her a safer bet than asylum in Venezuela, Nicaragua or Bolivia... These countries may stare Uncle Sam in the face now, i doubt they can keep their gaze for long under the pressure of sanctions by US and allies - they'll cave, EVENTUALLY. Besides, how on Earth does Snowden intend to get to those countries with the 'air barricades' in place. I think he can save himself a lot of worries to come by dumping asylum and marrying Chapman. Uncle Sam will only huff and puff at Mother Russia. Gran may be old but she's still one humonguos and dangerous COW. Well... I think Snowden will first wait till the last hour then marry Chapman to make it look like a desperate attempt. Anyhow, It is a desperate attempt... United States says its international relations has been marred by the publicity on their surveillance programme. And also claim that they're mending these relations with affected countries, which i presume to be all countries. I'm only surprised the affected countries are not sanctioning the US for doing these in the first place and even continuing it. 'Cos one thing is certain, the surveillance IS STILL ON. So what relations are getting mended? Are those countries NAIVELY DAFT OR ... JUST COWARDLY. I think they're both, so only four countries have balls. Nigeria? Don't kid yourself we don't even have EMPTY SCROTUM for putting the balls in. |
The INTRO - I wasn't following this issue, initially, but with the acclaimed asylum offers being thrown at Snowden, it's had me thinking. And - thinking out loud - Snowden's intentions may be considered patriotic on leaking the documents(if you consider the extent to which the US is violating "right to privacy"... on a large scale. I suppose Snowden thought about everything but these: (1) You can't strip a governments pants and get away with it. (2) When push comes to shove, very few countries wouldn't move if the US shoved them. (3) How quickly the government can make out a citizen as the enemy in the wink of an eye. (4) How soon his fellow Americans will forget he aint the enemy. Well he knows all these now... But much too late. There's very little he do except run and/or seek asylum. He's best bet would be Cuba or North Korea. However, i think he may be avoiding those countries for multitudes of reasons especially two: asylum in those countries will be considered defection and his whistleblowing will be considered espionage. Americans are not fond of these countries so public opinion or whatever's left of it will sway against him. Snowden will have to think fast cos time is running out. Damn, he's in deep shit! |
Yaaaaaaaaaaawn |
@ sirkaybaba55: Pity you fell for the scam. However, i advise lodging your complaint with the EFCC first. The general public is their jurisdiction. ICPC handles malpractices by public and civil servants. Be sure to make multiple copies of proofs, though. Don't count on getting a refund when they're apprehended but they may get caught. Meanwhile create a new thread and title it (to attract attention) NIGERIANS, PLEASE BEWARE OF THESE. In the body, tell their bank detail, company name. |
@zangbah: Oh i just realised! You're not a Muslim and i doubt you're even a Christian. But i know one thing: YOU'RE IONE OF THOSE PEOPLE GOING ABOUT THREADS TO DEFAME, CONDEMN & RIDICULE ISLAM. With all the effort you put into it..... daaaamn... Hope you're GETTING PAID?!?! |
@ Mavor: This is how low Nairaland has sunk.Sunk? Moderators "hide" posts when they're "reported" by viewers. If you don't want your posts hidden, you shouldn't use the lame excuse of freedom of expression to brew feuds. Besides the thread is meant for Muslims. Obviously, you're not one. So you are certainly here to make trouble |
