Do you have any travel history? Many people claim to work in big companies and show large bank balances to obtain visas, yet still arrive in Canada and claim asylum. Because of this, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is now extremely careful. Getting a visa is not only about showing a strong bank balance; a good travel history can also help. Unfortunately, applicants from Nigeria are currently under closer scrutiny because of past cases of visa misuse, which ends up affecting genuine applicants as well.

From the refusal reason, this is clearly a source of funds issue, not that you don’t have money.

2025/2026 is a period when IRCC wants to see every possible supporting document they do not make assumptions. You have to prove everything clearly and completely.

You submitted only your USD statement without:

(1) Consultancy contracts (2) Company letters (3) Payslips/invoices (4) Tax documents

So IRCC saw money but couldn’t confirm where it came from or if it’s stable income.

That’s why they said they’re not satisfied with your financial situation and access to funds.

Also, since part of your income comes in Naira, not submitting that account may have made your profile look incomplete.

You can reapply immediately, but don’t use the same documents.

Next time include:

(1) 6 months USD + Naira statements

Letter from both oil servicing companies confirming: You work with them, Your payment structure (100% USD / 60% USD + 40% naira) and How long you’ve been working with them

Since 40% of your income comes in Naira from one company, not showing that account makes your financial profile incomplete.

(2) Consultancy contracts

If they see random USD inflows without explanation, it can look like: Third-party funds or Temporary deposits Or borrowed money

(3) Company letters confirming your remuneration structure

(4) Tax clearance (if available)

Strong cover letter explaining your income and trip plan

Once you properly link your deposits to your job, your chances will improve very well

1 litre every 500km is above the allowable limit. You may choose to drive the car like that as its not a death sentence on the engine yet.
It might just be failed oil control rings or plugged oil return hols in the piston.

Keep an eye on the consumption though.

Things that could help
1. Use synthetic oil. This will clean out the gunk on the oil control rings and oil return holes
2. Decrease your oil change interval.
3. Take the car for a sprint and maintain high revs (Google Italian tune up)
4. See if you can order ferryman b12 and follow the guides before your next oil change.

These are helpful tips that dont require invasive engine work.

1. What engine is in this car? 2AR or 2GR?
2. What is the mileage?
3. When did you import it and what fixes did you do before you started noticing this oil shortage?
4. What's the rate of shortage? 1L every 1000 miles?
5. What oil are currently using?

Your mechanic is on the right path. He started with the easier and most probable fix first. Did he replace the pcv or did he "service" it?

Stick your hand in your exhaust pipe, if you notice thick black oily soot, then your car is truly burning oil. This eliminates leaks

Have someone else drive the car while you follow in another car. Sometimes, some cars only smoke when being driven. They smoke lightly which makes it difficult for the owner to notice while driving it. If it's smoking, take a note of whether the smoke is continuous during acceleration or if its intermittent.

It's a pity. When U gauge the oil, rev up the engine to 2500/3000 rpm. Check the exhaust for smoke.

You’ll have to visit a mechanic with such tool to be able to do that. If it’s up too spec, you might have to have your engine torn down to check for worn out component

Imam Kashim Imam a rookie engineer who finished NYSC last year to chairman the board of FERMA and supervise FERMA CEO Dr. Chukwuemeka Agbasi who has PhD in Engineering and over 30 years experience in local and international civil engineering (consulting and contracting) and applied research. It could have been a non-issue if FERMA was Engr. Imam Kashim Imam's family company.

Have you started your application or you already have an interview date? The person who needs to the travel aka your wife has not even applied so unfortunately you can't make it in any time for her to give birth there. Infact this child will be more than 1 year old by the time you even get a date for interview even if you apply right now.

Looking for a great 2nd passport for your child? Try Canada. Wait times to get a decision is now shorter compared to even up to a year ago. And Canadian passport holders can freely enter the US and many other countries.

Dear friends please I need your advise.

I wish for my wife to give birth to our child in the US ( She is a few weeks pregnant, so there is enough time to strategize).
So prior to this time, in 2020 Feb we both applied for a visiting visa to the US and we were both denied. So far she has been to the UK once and myself twice with a few African countries for work.

This time I want to apply for a tourist visa alone and if am lucky and get it, she will apply independently too.

Do you guys think this strategy will work?

Any better idea will be highly welcomed.

If u were stopped by a police officer, the first thing to do was to switch off your Radio so u can hear, bring down your window to know what he/ she wanted...

An average Nigerian man is totally aggressive... The way he was talking to this reporter, assuming he used that same tone, I don't think there would be a problem...

Indeed police officers needed reorientation and training on how to handle humans in more respectful manner in Nigeria...

1. Thermostat was removed.
That's what he did around the inlet hose.
2. Scan result can show that vehicle is operating at temperature below threshold.
3. Compression test on all cylinders will show if there's compression loss and that will help in knowing if the gasket is burnt or not.
4. Visual inspection and drivability issues are best in diagnosis of shaft issues
