Places that have dense forests like Southern Nigeria, DR Congo, Gabon, Eq Guinea etc are more likely to have lighter skinned people because the forests deflect a lot of the suns rays! While wide open areas like deserts will expose you a lot more to the suns rays!
By far Malians are darker than Ghanaians.
