I sincerely don't see any meaningful logic in a woman dropping her maiden surname for her husband's. My wife still keeps her surname till date.
My humble opinion.

Islamically it is wrong for a woman to drop her surname name, her father’s name is the indication of her lineage, you can not just change lineage it’s not even scientifically possible, it is only obtained by blood.

This is a western tradition that sadly, most Christians and modern Muslims have adopted.

When I got married, my wife wanted to go change her name officially. I immediately schooled her on it.
