abbasajao:So basically youre scaring away anyone that is trying to see things from your perspective. You now have pple that are not muslims accenting to things they do not agree with, this is even liable in terms of data privacy. I still maintain that this measure is like killing a mosquito with a sledgehammer. |
abbasajao:Islam teaches us that let there be no compulsion in religion, so my personal opinion on this is that Seun is being obnoxious. While it might serve as a deterrent from those who will seek to come derail islamic threads, it still does not eliminate or significantly reduce the risk. In short if the impact of the risk is considered as "Critical", at best it reduced it to "high" instead. What happens to let everyone in and show them love no matter what? heck, your simple display of kindness may even win some souls over. |
AntiChristian:I see your effort and may Allah reward you. But I will add more context to it for more enlightenment. I will try as much as possible to keep it short and simple for those that do not understand why it is considered haram (sin) in Islam. The position of Islam on Interest simply aims to create a just, ethical economy that discourages exploitation and promotes mutual welfare. Instead, Islam encourages systems that support both sides fairly, where everyone shares in profit and risk. Islamic finance offers alternatives to make financial dealings fairer: Profit Sharing (Mudarabah): Here, one person provides the money, and another provides the expertise. They split the profit, so each has something to gain or lose, balancing the risk. Joint Ventures (Musharakah): People pool resources and split any profit or loss, encouraging teamwork and responsibility. Cost-Plus Financing (Murabaha): Instead of charging interest, a seller discloses the cost of an item, adds a fair profit, and the buyer pays over time. These methods keep transactions honest, protect the financially vulnerable, and encourage fair trade. The goal is an economy where everyone can benefit without exploitation. harmargedon:I hear you, but for me, it’s less about how I was introduced to Islam and more about the principles. The principles of modesty and commitment are meant to help us lead peaceful and responsible lives. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts. |
harmargedon:Fornication isnt a sin? Wow we learn something new every day. I respect your view, and I get that everyone has different beliefs. For me and many other faith-based folks out there, I see it as a way to disregard spiritual teachings that encourage love and commitment. Either way, we’re all on our own path, so thanks for the conversation! |
1nigeriamyfoot:Zina is fornication. It is a sin in all religion. The beauty about Islam is that Allah is oft forgiven and most merciful. So if we seek for Allah's forgiveness He may show us mercy. Do not despair from the mercy of your lord. |
Skydivine:So it is okay for NATO and its members to send support to Ukraine but when Russia does same, that’s where you draw the line? |
McLizbae:The fact that they’ve been accused is a good enough basis to suspend pending thorough investigations. That’s how it is done. If no evidence is put forward, the suspension must be lifted and the accusers must be prosecuted. But if I were the pastors, I will resign |
200level, a senior in her final year asked me to come pickup some of her past study materials and text books. The door was open, I heard sound system from her doing the do, I knocked and she asked I come in. Omo dem hang her leg for air, I retreat asap. She yelled out, it’s in the sack by the door, pick it and go. One of my weirdest moments ever. |
Godwin4444:There is a direct relationship between poverty/hunger and crime. The more people become poorer the increase in crime rate. |
Low key Ododo is rewriting all Bellos wrong in that state, the civil servant has suffered too much |
Israel wants a wider conflict that will destabilize the entire region. This will eventually trickle down into other conflicts. It’s just a matter of time they hit Iran directly like they’re already doing in Lebanon. Even the Christian dominated south Lebanon was hit, this region has almost zero hezbolla. Ultimately they’d get the ww3 they seem to want so bad. Why I say this is that when they hit the likes of, Egypt, Turkey- they won’t take it lying down. |
Christ4ever:What do you mean- the new allegations are weighty: 1- they’d try to uncover why the money laundering was dropped and if determined that there seem to be some monkey business, they would add it back. 2- second is the case of bribery which was not there before. If determined, she would definitely be prosecuted for it. 3. Finally, if true she didn’t server her prison term in accordance to our judicial system, she would do it again. |
AmalaAtiEwedu:Our part time Nairaland resident don talk him own |
CyrusVI:But does it make sense that he showed up at their door step literally and they asked him to go away, only for them to go after him in the middle of the night? Make it make sense! |
In all these- the only winner is SAPA |
Emmanuel900:I told my friend this just the other day. And the truth is I don’t entirely blame the women. Most Nigerian men believe that the only way they can woo a woman is with money. So, naturally women have been conditioned to go for the man with the fattest pocket as you said. You’re spot on, immediately they get abroad and see that that have better opportunities, better lives, better chances at making it without the man (who is now struggling to keep her in check) they’d bail. |
jmoore:But isn’t that what democracy is all about? Majority will have their way ( whether the majority was derived through rigging or not). This is why I think democracy can never work for us in Nigeria. According to Plato (greatest philosopher of all time), He claims that democracy is a danger due to excessive freedom. He also argues that, in a system in which everyone has a right to rule, all sorts of selfish people who care nothing for the people but are only motivated by their own personal desires are able to attain power. He concludes that democracy risks bringing dictators, tyrants, and demagogues to power. He also claims that democracies have leaders without proper skills or morals and that it is quite unlikely that the best equipped to rule will come to power. This is exactly where we are today in Nigeria and we may keep going in circles like this for the next 100 years. |
haybhi1:There are no winners here, not even Victor. This is the best possible outcome. If you choose to dare your master- dare to the end! |
How does Ribadu still keep his job |
what does bondwoman mean? |
EmperorCaesar:Dey try read to understand and not just to respond. because if you understand what I said like most people did, you won’t type this nonsense. Nobody is saying don’t return the money, what we are saying is “do exactly what they’d do” Which is get value from that money in your possession before returning it. It’s literally what they do and you know it. |
Adonis69:. They’ve invested the money in their economy, it’s the proceeds they’d be sending back to us in piece meal. Like beggars. Ordinary $22000 is what we are doing photo ops on, very shameful country |
obasanjonews:But if they recover stolen or fraudulent funds on our behalf, they’d spend years before they return it. That’s if they don’t return it in piece meal. We need all the dollar we can get, at least hold the money here for a while. Mumu people |
Bad actors will always test your system |
NkanuSon:They move stuff to Lagos you complain, they move stuff out of Lagos you still complain. Wetin dey work you bro? |
Malroux:The guy that deleted the Deborah post? Try again |
Sapeleboy911:I can only say what i know. The barricades were turn down if you are in that location youd know this. Secondly i do not know if these traders pay the govt... they may pay some certain fee but i do not know if it goes to the govt I have seen some of these traders put their wares on hips of dirt, i do not know how any govt official will see that and still go ahead and collect levies without reprimand I dont hold brief for Lagos state govt. The point im trying to pass across is that, we are mostly lawless and evil. The govt is just a reflection of who we are. I do not see how any of the solutions will work, I personally do not have one. Maybe WAI of the 80s can be brought back but then we would need a military govt to enforce such. |
Nigeria which way? |
Originalsly:You’ve not seen enforcers seizing items of hawkers before? They always come back. |
