Politics / Re: EFCC Chairman Out To Humiliate, Kill Gov Ododo & Yahaya Bello - Kogi Assembly by lapazi(m): 8:08pm On Sep 23
CyrusVI:
sad

These ones wanna gag the EFCC and stop them from doing their work

Since Ribadu, this is the most actively working EFF chairman and this assembly of crooks wanna talkdown the effort of this strong agency

As for Yahaya, he should submit himself to them. Its pointless running away for the first few months, only to be later picked up like a criminal with even a worse humiliation

But does it make sense that he showed up at their door step literally and they asked him to go away, only for them to go after him in the middle of the night?

Make it make sense!

Family / Re: UK Woman Urges Nigerian Wives: Stop Reporting Husbands To UK Police by lapazi(m): 7:20am On Sep 10
Emmanuel900:
The truth is most of these women never love their husband in the first place.

They just settled for them because they have the fattest pocket and are able to fill the role of provider they need, so when they get to UK with more opportunities for women to make more money and empowerment, their husband become useless to them and they just want to bail out.
I told my friend this just the other day. And the truth is I don’t entirely blame the women. Most Nigerian men believe that the only way they can woo a woman is with money. So, naturally women have been conditioned to go for the man with the fattest pocket as you said. You’re spot on, immediately they get abroad and see that that have better opportunities, better lives, better chances at making it without the man (who is now struggling to keep her in check) they’d bail.
Politics / Re: Fuel Price Hike Total Madness, No Sane Person Will Vote Tinubu In 2027 – Sheikh by lapazi(m): 9:14pm On Sep 05
jmoore:
Sane people did not vote for him na.

Never underestimate the power of insane people in large numbers. They can vote for him again.

But isn’t that what democracy is all about?

Majority will have their way ( whether the majority was derived through rigging or not).

This is why I think democracy can never work for us in Nigeria.

According to Plato (greatest philosopher of all time), He claims that democracy is a danger due to excessive freedom. He also argues that, in a system in which everyone has a right to rule, all sorts of selfish people who care nothing for the people but are only motivated by their own personal desires are able to attain power.

He concludes that democracy risks bringing dictators, tyrants, and demagogues to power. He also claims that democracies have leaders without proper skills or morals and that it is quite unlikely that the best equipped to rule will come to power.

This is exactly where we are today in Nigeria and we may keep going in circles like this for the next 100 years.

Napoli still at loss. They still have to pay his fees. They had a choice to have sold him for 80M and be free of his wages. Now they still have to pay him always.

There are no winners here, not even Victor. This is the best possible outcome. If you choose to dare your master- dare to the end!

They’ve invested the money in their economy, it’s the proceeds they’d be sending back to us in piece meal. Like beggars.

We need all the dollar we can get, at least hold the money here for a while.

They tried to barricade the place and it did not work? The traders stopped them or what? This shouldn't be an excuse please. If it collecting revenue from the traders, the government won't run out of options on how to collect it. You can do better in your thoughts process please.

I can only say what i know.
The barricades were turn down
if you are in that location youd know this.
Secondly i do not know if these traders pay the govt...
they may pay some certain fee but i do not know if it goes to the govt
I have seen some of these traders put their wares on hips of dirt, i do not know how any govt official will see that and still go ahead and collect levies without reprimand

I dont hold brief for Lagos state govt.
The point im trying to pass across is that, we are mostly lawless and evil.
The govt is just a reflection of who we are.
I do not see how any of the solutions will work, I personally do not have one.

Maybe WAI of the 80s can be brought back but then we would need a military govt to enforce such.

This is what happens when there is a weak government.... one that can't enforce the law. It always result in lawlessness. If they are collecting fees for selling there then it is hypocritical to ask them to move.If not ... the warning to move is just a courtesy. He just needed to give a deadline and confiscate all goods after . Nothing special about Lagosians.... same will happen in other major cities .... the reason it doesn't is excuse of enforcement.

You’ve not seen enforcers seizing items of hawkers before?

They always come back.

The state government won't take proactive measures to curtail this now. When the unfortunate happens, they will begin to setup investigating committees here and there.

It was still in this very Lagos that Sanwolu went to Oshodi to warn them him self, they tried to barricade the area, still did not work.
What else do you want the govt to do. Mr know it all.

Hehehe.

The man is trying to sugarcoat the issue, just tell us the truth.

Nigeria ref are just like our politicians. They are corrupt and will disgrace CAF, simple.

Mahmood Yakubu is the role model of Nigerian referees grin tongue.

You remember these guys:
Nigerian referee, Joseph Agabor. He was caught attempting to manipulate CAF confederation cup match between Plateau United and USM Algers shocked.

Even as corrupt as NFF is, they were able to suspend 14 NPFL referees grin.

Salisu Yusuf. He received $1000 from an undercover reporter to select incompetent players grin.

What about Amos Adamu, involved in £500,000 to be paid to him personally, to build four football pitches in Nigeria.
grin.

Another case is that of Samson Siasia and his 5 years ban tongue.

Small role like this na to bring shame home.

The list is endless,so now you know why.

You too are sugar coating it, Nigeria Referees are just like 99% of every Nigerian.

Our Politicians did not creep out of hell, they were ones like me and you.

It's Sunnah to marry a religious spouse!

It's Sunnah to marry a virgin.

It's Sunnah to live honourably with her.

It's Sunnah for men to marry two, three, four or one wife/wives.

You can only demand for a virgin wife if you yourself is a virgin.

Or are men not held on same standards?
