Guys, which of this is cheaper and gives more value for money: 1. Building a twin (I.e. 2 units of) 3 bedroom bungalow on a 1 plot of land with a flat roof for relaxation and mounting of solar panels, or 2. Building a one-storey building of 3 bedroom apartments each (on the ground and top floor), with a flat roof for relaxation and mounting of solar panels. I tend to favour number 2 because of the extra space that will remain from the 1 plot after the whole project, but I am also sensitive to cost. Please, what do you advise |
I intend to be the primary applicant for this PR procession for a family of 5, so i will be writing IELTS before year ends. Does my wife also need to write IELTS? If as a secondary applicant? If yes, when is the ideal time for her to write it? Also, is it possible to go with my widowed mum? We bear the same surnames and I included her in my count of family of 5. Finally, how much is needed for POF for a family of 5? A cursory Google search shows 30k+. Is this correct? |
pope191:I don't want to believe some drivers are living from hand to mouth, hence their accepting just any trips as two people have opined so far. Driving hustle is one that the cost of inputs (particularly fuel) will hit you within a short while, so if you are not operating profitably, the reality will hit you within 48hours max when you need to refill your tank, as you will wonder where all your money went. While factors like road familiarity, proximity to residence or other desired locations can make some drivers accept certain trips with seeming ridiculous amount, I do believe that most of such drivers have gained some efficiency as regards "source of power" for their cars I personally see this whole fuel chaos and crisis as a blessing in disguise, because it will ultimately lead to people seeking independence from fuel as fuel is not only so expensive, it is also extremely difficult to buy. We are already seeing a significant a massive adoption of solar energy in households, offices and industries. While we wait for solar or electric-powered vehicles to become mainstream in Nigeria, a quick way to reduce your reliance on fuel and gain some efficiency as a driver is through the adoption of CNG in the mid-term. I know this is a touchy subject as some of us have valid reasons against CNG, but I cannot see any other alternative that brings cost-savings even in the short term for drivers that are always on the road, and I think e-hailing drivers and companies should be on the forefront of this CNG adoption because there is a limit to how high prices can be increased to. On one of my visits to NIPCO CNG Station at MFM to make enquiries early this year, I met 2 e-hailing drivers and I was shocked at the savings they reported when they compared operational cost of fuel and CNG even as at then. I can only imagine what those cost-savings will be now that fuel price is on steroid. Infact, one of them stays at Ajah, but he has structured his schedule to get a trip that will bring him to MFM axis so that he can refuel before going home for the day. Let us work towards de-coupling ourselves from fuel as much as possible. It is a curse and a tool with which a few elite have held us hostage for decades. I hope we see several NGOs and Non-profits springing up to drive this, because it is a just cause. #DecoupleFromFuel |
noobody:May not be a "well paid police DPO" per se. Having some goodwilled police connections can get the job done. The scammer will refund all the costs incurred in apprehending him. Some people just need to be taught a lesson |
obajoey:Please direct me to the LinkedIn posts about this scam. A colleague also got scammed by a popular Canadian travel agent on LinkedIn. Dude appears very legit, always churning out travel posts with lots of engagements. One can be scammed when/where he least expects |

Please a friend is coming into Lagos tomorrow morning for a job around Ikeja. I understand that Ikeja is a high brow area, so I have advised him to look for a cheap hotel around the environs like Ojodu Berger. Please, is there any hotel where one can lodge for around 5k or even less around Ojodu? A comfortable place with AC. Appreciate your responses. Thanks |
PlayerMeji:SOmeone already did up there. This is why evil and injustice continue to prevail. People see evil and injustice, and intentionally turn a blind eye. It is terrible |
Last month, i was driving through Ikorodu Road and there was the usual slow-moving traffic after Maryland. Just on the bridge between Maryland and Ojota (where the BRT monitoring team are stationed), i noticed a young boy in between the traffic lanes holding a plastic basin (usually used in hawking satchet water) that was broken, with several satchet water spilled on the ground. He looked like he was crying, and at first glance, it appeared a vehicle ran over his bucket, broke it and bursted the satchet water that he was selling. I was moved to give him some cash, but i didnt have any on me and the traffic eased, so i had to let it go and keep moving. I passed there 1 week later, and i saw the same boy wearing the same shirt, holding the same bucket and in the same place. I immediately knew it was a new technique to dishonestly appeal to people's sense of pity and get them to give him alms. Yesterday, i was on my way to the office from Magboro. Just after New Garage bustop and before Berger bustop, i saw another boy using the same format to collect money from people. I was irritated. I brought out my phone to take pics and videos of the boy, but he saw me and covered his face, then he moved towards my side because he wanted to stay close to the area the satchet water was spilled (na him office be that...lol). I made the below video still. Notice that in the 55th second of the video, somebody shouted "pure water", and he moved towards the person and collected money. I am not against people being helped, but it is wrong to dishonestly solicit for assistance. It is also terrible that Nigerians are becoming more and more negatively ingenious. Only God knows what will happen by the time these boys come of age and these kind of techniques dont work for them anymore. They will definitely take to crime Mods (Mynd44, OAM4J), please help move this topic to front page so that people will be aware https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lXgZylWTd8 |

ngBuild:You are cleverly avoiding the question about why you vanised into thin air when the dispatch rider came around even when you were fully aware that he was coming around. queendoreez:Doris, you fell for the oldest trick in books, which has been Funlord's strategy in all the cases he has been involved with - he tactically joins you and his supposed buyer together, cleverly exits himself, muddles up the whole issue then turn around sound like he is doing you a favour by wanting to pay your own money. You shouldn't have joined any resolution group with any so-called buyer or even discussed with or mentioned any Rareststranhair or whatever. Your case is with Funlord, you should focus your crosshairs squarely on him and him alone, demanding your money. At this stage, the case is messy with too many extraneous inputs that doesn't lead to any useful resolution. I hope you get your money back. Goodluck |
