You've said a lot of things here but none has substance. Tell us the principles you've applied so I could learn and accept christ again. Maybe I was ignorant about the principles and so I faltered. I wouldn't have really responded to your request because i am not a fool okay, i know the motive behind your asking and it is because you are looking for loopholes but i will respond because of your humble approach which is smart, even though i know you will still criticize.

First and foremost, you must bear it in mind that principles can be wrongly applied and at times they also fail because it is not well backed with the right ingredients. Prove: Many great scientists failed several times because they got their scientific principles right.

Biblical principles also has to be applied properly and by faith.

Jesus talked about the parable of the sower and that is very important when seeds are being sown.
Christ said some sowed on bad ground, some good ground, etc.

I TOOK PUBLIC BUS SO THERE WAS THIS PREACHER ON BOARD (PERHAPS A PASTOR, I DON'T KNOW) BUT I LISTENED TO HIM AND DECIDED TO GIVE MY BEST AT THE TIME, AFTER REMOVING WHAT I'M TO SPEND ON MY DSTV SUBSCRIPTION.

I SOWED 1K TO THE PREACHER, NOT HIM BUT I CHANNELED IT TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD BECAUSE I HAVE DECIDED THAT IF I HAVE TO SOW, I WILL SOW ON GOOD GROUNDS WHICH IS INTO THE WORK OF GOD (EVANGELISM) AND I VOWED TO ALWAYS GIVE MY BEST EVEN IF IT WAS 200 NAIRA FOR INSTANCE. I TRY TO ALWAYS GIVE THE HIGHEST DENOMINATION PENDING ON WHAT I HAVE AT THE TIME.

I GOT OFF THE BUS AND WALKED ALL THE WAY TO THE PLACE WHERE I WAS SUPPOSED TO PAY FOR THE DSTV BECAUSE I SACRIFICED PART OF MY TRANSPORT BUT I DIDN'T DO IT EXPECTING ANYTHING FAVOURS IN RETURN TO BE HONEST BUT IT'S JUST THAT I HAVE DECIDED THAT IF I HAVE TO SOW A SEED, I WILL SOW INTO THE PURSE OF PREACHERS. AS I APPROACH THE DSTV PLACE, THE LADY THAT ATTENDED TO ME WAS SURPRISED AND ASK HOW MUCH I PAID THE LAST TIME, THINKING MAYBE I OVER PAID BEFORE BECAUSE DSTV GAVE ME DISCOUNT OF OVER 6K. WHAT I PAID THAT DAY WAS A LITTLE BIT OVER 3K.

THE LADY SAID SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BUT MAYBE because I SUBSCRIBE REGULARLY THAT WAS WHY THEY GAVE ME DISCOUNT. I CALLED A FRIEND IN THE OFFICE TO TELL HIM WHAT HAPPENED, SO THE GUY WANTED TO GO PAY TOO.

I ADVICED HIM TO CALL DSTV CUSTOMER CARE SO THAT HE DOES NOT GET DISAPPOINED. HE CALLED TO ASK IF THEY WERE RUNNING ANY PROMOTION AT THE TIME AND THEY SAID NO. HE ALSO ASKED THE DSTV VENDOR IN HIS AREA IF THERE WAS ANY SUCH DISCOUNT THEY SAID NO.

THERE WAS NO EXPLANATION TO IT AS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD MY FRIEND, SO I JUST TOLD HIM NOT TO BOTHER BECAUSE I KNOW WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM. I GAVE 1K AND GOT 6K PLUS.

I WON'T GO INTO DETAILS BUT I HAVE CASUALLY GIVEN 1K BEFORE AND GOT 93K GIFT FROM MY OFFICE. I GOT SALES BONUS I DIDN'T DESERVE IN THAT MONTH AND I WAS SO SURPRISED. When we don't receive result, we say it is because of our lack of faith or sin...or God in his infinite knowledge has a reason. If there is indeed a God, then we have a distorted view of who He is.

There are tons of issues bro. If we start dissecting scriptures now we will derail this thread. Let's look at some core christian concepts:

1. Trinity: If God, Jesus and the holy spirit are one, who then is sitted at the right hand of God. Where then is the Holy Spirit
2. And this signs shall follow them that believe...how many people do you know are walking in the reality of this? The easiest of these signs is speaking in tongues because any body can speak gibberish and count it as tongues with the defense that its only God that understands.

4. Check out the contradictions. For the sake of space, I'll highlight one: John the baptist said he is not Elijah (John 1:20). Jesus said John is Elijah (Matt 11:14)
5. Jesus (Ominipotent God) made it clear that his second coming will be during the time of the disciples (Matt 16:28), (Mark 9:1), (Luke 9:27). Please read the while chapter to get a full grasp of what Christ was talking about. I wonder what christians have to say about this

6. I have heard of people getting healed but not an amputee. Please why? The same power that is available to heal cancer, mental disorder, blood group, raise dead should be available to generate a new arm.

7. If God wants us to live by faith, why did he give us brains to think and rationalise issues?

It is not trial and error for God but for us. God does not need or receive healing, it is those that receive it that it is like trial and error for. i have as much as possible put aside many factors and peoples so that the explanation can be BASIC and progressing. i've said i would still talk about trusting God, giving glory. Not to forget that there are people who receiving from God is very frequent and tested and trusted. We don't all have the same level of faith, prayers, relationship with God. The thread is to help the general and major populace who don't have the "skill" and have questions. Many and most times, the problem is at the receiving end, and sometimes it is simply God's decision and Sovereignty. God is a Spirit, and if you want to enjoy Him more, you have to come to His terms not the other way round. Miracles are not make believe, they do happen. The OP shares 4 personal testimonies, this are not stories i heard, they are personal experiences and there are many more. The Bible does not say that miracles only happen in christianity, neither have i said so. There are clearly other gods and the Scriptures acknowledge that. What we are quick to add is that there is no other god like God. People who face troubles and challenges know where it hurts them, thank God you do not have such challenges. People who have been healed of life threatening, money gulping and hopeless sicknesses know for themselves. Humans who had problems with marriage, job, poverty etc and received supernatural help, saw reality of evil powers, vomitted and excreted different things like cockroach to lizard to hair to sponge etc, and the problems disappeared. These are things that happen around us, if you are not too lazy to sit in the armchair and say stuff conveniently on the internet.
So a woman is not married over 40years, and prays and fasts three days with a man of God. She sees a sponge in her village buried in their compound since her birth. She goes to dig it up and destroy it prayerfully to God. The same month, the same woman has four serious suitors, and you tell me that is normal and natural? You must be highly deluded to so conclude.





As you can clearly see, it is not me, it is the Bible itself. The Bible shows you how God works. You are not the ones to tell us how a real god should work, you do not know any God so you cannot just pull out criteria from thin air. The Bible shows you how God works, if you think that is weak or belittling, well your opinion. It shows me however that God is real and i understand Him better. Many people have maintained their peace and even trusted God more after calamity, so stop weeping more than the bereaved. the case of Job is clear from the Bible. Horatio Spafford wrote the popular song "It is well with my soul" after losing ALL his daughters in a shipwreck. Anne Johnson Flint lost her parents at young age, became paralysed and very sickly, yet she remained and died a happy and faithful christian and gave us the good hymn "He giveth more grace". Should i talk about Paul the apostle, and Peter and John and all they faced? The joke is on you, people have fulfilled God's requirements aplenty.

Hell was created before man BTW and not for man. i did not say that we are not capable of understanding God, i have repeated on this same thread humbly that i UNDERSTAND God more than you. Miracles and signs and wonders happen, both from God and from other sources. go to your village or some village where they claim to experience supernatural happenings, you will see it. One man went to his village and came back to Lagos on wheelchair, paralyzed. It took prayers to get him back on his feet, he vomited some stuff as well. He went to the hospital, they scanned and scanned and almost photocopied the man sef, they saw nada. Stay there.

Look at it this way and you will understand better.

Humans are like little children (who do not really know what is right from wrong) and God is like our parents who have all the required experience etc.

First question is............. do you know some children are very stubborn?

When their parents are advising them on the right path, they just feel they know it all and go their own way and when something goes wrong, people (outsiders) will always blame the parents, not knowing that they have been advising the stubborn child all along.

Like they say, when the child is good the father takes the glory and when they are bad, it's the mother.
Normally, when children misbehave, people start sending words to the parents.

The word of God is there to guide us but even Christians do not follow it. Read the book of proverb and Ecclesiastes and you will see that if those principles are followed, failure or mishap will be very hard to come your way.

Some of the mishap that come our way are caused by us and we can't blame God for it when we get into danger. Didn't He say in His word that
we should choose life rather than death? The bible said there is a way that always seems right in the eyes of man but that way leads to destruction. God gave us free will to choose what we want and still goes on to advice us (on choosing life) but He will not falsely pull you out when danger comes if it is a path we have choosen.

I am not saying as natural parents we don't go after our children to help them even if they offend countless times but trust me, if it is too much you will just be abandoned by your own parents.

If you haven't heard it before, i have seen a case where my uncle used a police to arrest his sons because of their way of life. You can frustrate you parents that they just let go because it is a path you choose for yourself.

Didn't He say we reap what we sown? It is not as if He does not wish to help us but it is a principle that He operates with. Everything about life is sowing and reaping, including food and plants too. So why should God break His word because you are stubborn or wanna test Him?


Apart from that, do you know how many times God has saved you without you knowing it? Do you think you escaped certain things by luck?

I respect the fact that you created this thread but what you have refused to realize is that everybody cannot have same opinion and people's opinion has to be respected too as the creator of this trend.

You statement sounded like you are looking for a winner, instead we are here to educate ourselves even though we do not agree.
when people don't talk (especially someone like me), it is because i just want to make peace and not that i was convinced or accepted the myth called purgatory. I didn't accept it even in my silence and never will but i just stopped talking about it. The reason is that i realize the argument will never ever end. When people keep quite doesn't mean much but for me, i notice that it was getting heated and almost turning into something else, so i just backed out from it.

Jesus actually came to carry out His Father's will and not His own will but the question is did Jesus succeed in His quest? Yes He did which was why He gave Himself up to be arrested. Before the arrest, when He told them that He was Jesus they all fell to the ground.

Jesus said "father let this cup to pass over me and later repented by saying let your will be done and not my will".

what is this will? That everyone who believes in Jesus shall not die and that is without any condition.


2. The bible says all have sinned and are fallen short of God's glory. ROMANS 3:23.

The question is that can the word of God be broken? No! The bible made it so so clear that ALL have sinned and that includes Christians and also the bible says a soul that sinner (which is ALL who have sinned) shall die. EZEKIEL 18:20. Going by this, then nobody will ever make heaven because even Christians today do sin and why didn't they die?

Now do you know what that means? This means that the kind of salvation we have in Christ is so so unique and such salvation covers sin.

what are iniquities? It is the act of performing a sin (like action) but Sin is the evidence of that action called iniquity.

Example: when you slap someone, that process of lifting ur hand to slap is the iniquity but the scare the slap will leave on the face of the victim is the sin.

The reason why God covers sin is that it is so dangerous that it cannot be wiped, it just leaves a scar there and the best thing to do is to cover it. You can forgive someone that slaps you which is forgiving the iniquity but you cannot say the scar of the slap will be removed if the person as for forgiveness. The damage would have been done, so God covers our sins, He doesn't even see it when we ask for forgiveness of our action.

Purgatory and praying through Mary or through saints etc are heresis. They are inconsistent with the truth revealed in the scriptures. One would need to give twisted interpretation to clear verses of the bible or smuggle in extra-scriptural books to justify those roman catholic doctrines and traditions.

Purgatory is not in the bible, neither is there anywhere in scripture we are admonished to solicit for the intercession of saints in heaven.
