Jesus rebuked her by saying woman what have I to do with you, my time hasn't come but unknown to Mary is that Jesus was refering to the time of His death and ressurection because that is the only reason why Jesus will offer us His blood in the form of wine. Catholic people don't see that part when Jesus rebuked her but they use the marriage as excuse to worship Mary and they don't even understand what goes on in that passage.

Now, if we say the servants are not his disciples but catering service people, it is okay for Mary to tell them whatever Jesus tells you to do, do it; because the people there do not know Jesus, after all that was His first recorded miracle and it was Mary that the celebrate probably invited, while Mary invited Jesus and His disciplines. This was why Mary was concerned because she is close to the couple getting married.

Hence, if Mary was refering to servants (outside Jesus discipleship), then what business or connection does it have with the church? Trust me, Mary wasn't refering to the disciples because it will be stupid to tell them to carry Jesus' order as if they will not, instead she was refering to the catering service people. In verse one of that chapter, the bible refers to Jesus' disciples as disciples and not servants, so that we don't mix the two up.
Besides, the disciples are also guests.

Jesus spoke to her in that scene as her LORD and saviour by rebuking her, speaking abt His death and ressurection but Mary was getting carried away with physical things, being His surrogate mother. Jesus meant Serious business in that marriage and wanted to demonstrate something unique and Mary was being a distraction.

If you notice in John 2:7, Jesus said they should fill 6 pots to the brime and in the next verse, He said DRAW OUT NOW. Do you know why? He had waited for the perfect time despite they ha already filled the pots. He didn't do it because Mary said and at the time Mary said it, after all He already said He was waiting for a certain hour and Mary shouldn't get involved.


The wedding of cana has a mystery and only those with gift of revelation knowledge can see it. THIS IS THE MYSTERY.


The wedding of Cana was talking about Jesus union and Marriage with the church. Also it was talking about Jesus death and Ressurection, so where does Mary come in, seein that Jesus REBUKED her interference ? she had no role to play when it comes to Jesus and the church (his bride).

The problem with catholic is that do not follow what the bible says.

So why do I need an intercessor to Access a Christ that has placed me at the same level with HIM? The bible says "Ye are Christ" that is because we are now one in God. HE is the head and we (the church) HIS body. So what intercessor do I need again? Isn't that time wasting and scriptural blasphemy?

Well the key learning for you here is to never pay a dime to anyone in search of a Job, even if it's an agency.

Like other fictions I have come across on Nairaland, you drag and drag your post just to enter into the mind and arouse the interest of your readers. This makes them vulnerable if they are not grounded in the word of God.

Do you read the bible? Who told you calling someone a fool within a certain context is a sin? Maybe it's an insult to you but truth is that It is just a description of someone's action. Anyone can decide to be a fool; so how does that indite Christians or affects hristianity? Do unbelievers and atheist not use that word as well? Isn't it an English world people use? Didn't Paul call galatians foolish galatians? Didn't the bible say a fool is wise in his own eyes? nobody is a fool but only a man's action or words puts him in that situation. And who says some Christians don't act foolishly too?

You don't have to go to church if it is just to fulfil all righteousness according to ur words. The truth is that it is not an act of righteousness. Supporting an aethist who says your God does not exist is blasphemy.
