Did she call herself what she's not in the past ? Yes.

Now people in the market space are saying they have information she's making a move that affects their affairs and they are protesting. Now u are dismissing it as if it doesn't matter.

U are the one doing what u are accusing somebody else of.
Is there anything like Iyaloja of Nigeria?

The people spreading the rumors know what they are doing, those who are believing it knows what they are doing also.

It's a simple sturvs.

Did I say I believe the allegations against her ?

I just pointed u to an incident that made it to the news . In June 2023 the media space was awash with news that she appointed herself as Iyaloja General Nigeria . That was something she posted herself .

The market women protesting now will have their reasons for doing that . Either it’s a rumor which her detractors brought up or she’s actually making such moves for real.

U cannot say 100% u know what is true or false in this case . It’s only bias (which u are accusing me of ) that will make u dismiss the women’s allegation just like that .
Lol.

Of course when there are protest talk ongoing everywhere, suddenly some group of women came out that Tinubu daughter want to impose market leaders on them in far away state and you are telling me there's no smoke without fire. grin

Then you went ahead to bring her Twitter bio where she called herself the Iyaloja of Nigeria as proof that it might be true.

In the words on the Oasis the Great, We all know what we are doing.

Shortly after Tinubu was sworn-in, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo updated her twitter bio from "Iyaloja General of Lagos State" to "Iyaloja General of Nigeria". There was a lot of hues and cries that period and the whole thing died down.

I don't think the Benin Market women will just wake one and half years after and start staging a protest about her trying to impose market leader on them.

This is Nigeria, there is no smoke without fire.
Bros abeg now. I can change my Twitter bio to Governor of Lagos, it doesn't make me Governor of Lagos.

What right does Folashade has or which power does she command in Edo to appoint market leaders for them?

Please dont let out bias to make us believe ridiculous things.

Let's assume it was a hoax. The protest shows that the very idea of Tinubu's daughter imposing a leader on them was real to the protesters.
Of course it's real to them because someone is using it to rile them up whether it's true or not. Mission accomplished already.

Not Ogun, Not Oyo, not Ondo, not Osun but Edo state.

Anybody that wants to protest should go out and protest. Whether anti Tinubu or Pro Tinubu.

Both group should just dont block roads for others and not confront each other to turn their protest into violence.

Nigeria's major problem is not end of civil service but corruption and a culture of waste. That is the origin of Nigeria's problems. I am not saying Muhammed or other leaders are blameless, or that the civil service is not bad, but the person in charge when our major problem became a major problem, is the person with the main responsibility.

FYI The civil service was already incredibly corrupt and bloated during Gowon's regime. That is one of the reasons why Muhammed went overboard and kicked many of them out. He was not attacking an innocent system. The problem was that he went about it in the wrong way, like a butcher performing skin cancer surgery.
I do agree with your points, I just added my point as an addendum.

IBB is up there. Definitely more significant than Murtala Muhammed IMO in terms of Nigeria's downfall. I would still put Gowon at the top because he was the one who wasted our resources the most, for the most time, when we had the most of it. He didn't steal it personally, but practically everybody else did, AND very importantly, that is when everybody started doing it.
The beginning of the end of the civil service.

Like Ibime pointed out in one if his earlier post today, civil service run thr government. A country that will work needs an efficient civil service that will work irrespective of who the politician is. All strong institutions are made up of dedicated civil servants. A nation cannot outgrow the efficiency or productivity of its civil servant.

Politicians come and go every 4yrs, civil servants remain for years. They are the kokoro ton jegba, ninu e gba lo wa.

Gowon is more an architect of Nigeria's downfall than Murtala Mohammed.

The culture of civil servants stealing the country blind was entrenched during Gowon's 9-year rule. There were bloated parastatals and the culture of government spending just for spending's sake aka white elephant projects was institutionalized during his regime.

That was also the peak of the oil boom when Nigeria could have made giant steps to join the industrialized world. Instead, the money was pilfered by politicians, civil servants, and their cronies. Murtala while trying to correct the rampant malfeasance in the system, might have made his own mistakes, but he did far less damage in those 6-7 months than Gowon.

Nigeria's problems have a myriad of root causes, but if one single man was to shoulder the blame for Nigeria's demise at the gates of hell, it would be Yakubu Gowon.
What about IBB?

I doubt it’s even possible cos such move will be like government playing into the hands of the protesters.

If government in conjunction with traditional rulers decide to fix oro festival on the proposed date of protest, then it means they have given workers holiday. Such holiday will only lead to workers joining the protests instead of being at their work place ; which is not in the government’s interest one bit!

Oro doesn’t stop men from moving about. In fact it will only lead to confrontation between the oro cultists and the people who want to go about their daily lives. Even COVID-19 lockdown couldn’t stop some people from going out , Shey na oro go come stop them ?
The Oro talk na just scare tactics from mischievous element. Nobody does Oro for 15 days in broad daylight, not even in Oro land aka Ikorodu grin

Dollar is 1600, yet NNPC is still selling 568.

The more you look, the less you see.

Diesel was getting to 1500 before Dangote started. I think 1270 is the highest i have seen today.

Why dem no go import Diesel, since dem no want Monopoly?

I refused to be deceived. I am just waiting for Dangote to produce first.
NNPC does not pay marketer subsidy, what they do is under recovery. They import and sell to the marketers at a lower price compared to what they imported it in.

The difference between both price goes into their book as subsidy under recovery, an operational expenses.

The improvement in power supply we're experiencing now cannot be attributed to the rainy season, as the hydro power plant's contribution to the national grid is relatively small, accounting for less than 7% of our total megawatts. This suggests that other sources, such as gas-fired power plants, or improved transmission infrastructure, are playing a more significant role in boosting power supply.
Maybe you are right but I know the raining season does help

I don't agree nnpc should totally rely on Dangote.

But I also agree nnpc has to give some favouritism to Dangote.

Now how they plan to do that, I don't know.
Another important question is how much do the guys at nnpc make from importation that they pocket?
I believe that goes into account as to why nnpc (cabal) won't move body to give Dangote any real help.

Another question is this, if we have atleast private refineries asking for this sort of thing that Dangote alone asked for, would you be alot more comfortable?
We all know there's massive corruption in NNPC, nobody can really deny that, the crux of the matter is that we shouldn't be giving Dangote the sole right to supply us refined fuel in a country that's dependent on fuel

Dangote can ask other incentive like tax breaks, subsidy if possible and the likes.

Once we have different local players refining fuel, we can begin to talk of stopping importation. Not now
