BlueRayDick: The student loan looks good on paper and may as well be one of the good legacies Tinubu can leave behind( If it is properly administered )
Sometimes last week I read in the papers that the pilot phase of the loan will be accessible to only students in Federal owned higher institutions (.i.e. FG owned Varsity, Polytechnic and College of Education). Maybe state owned schools will be added later or their respective governors will have to float something similar to complement FG's program in their respective states , only time will tell.
That being said, I have just one major concern which I didn't see addressed in the news article. According to plan the student's fees will be paid directly to the school's account and not handed over to the student .
My concern is let's say a student has been on the student loan from year one and after year three due to poor academic performance, exam malpractice or cultism he gets expelled/rusticated from school; how will the FG recoup the principal they have expended on such students from year 1 to 3? Remember a student is expected to start repayment 2 years post graduation. How will the FG recoup from students who don't graduate eventually ?
Also, for those who get 1 to 2 extra year, will FG keep paying their school fees for those extra years ? According to what I read, they will add state university to eligible institutions in few weeks, Its currently open to only federal universities. The loan is for 2 things, school fees and student upkeep. The school fees will be paid to the school directly while the upkeep will be sent to the student account. You raise good points about student getting expelled or getting carryover. I don't know how they intend to go about that. |

It seems NELFUND has began processing student loan applications for undergraduates in federal universities. If you know anyone in Fed Uni in need of student loan, you can ask them to apply. https://www.nelf.gov.ng/ |

Ibime: This is Abuja train not Abuja-Kaduna train so bandits no follow
BTW. I learned that the Abuja-Kaduna train which bandits attacked 2 years ago now undertakes each journey with military helicopter escorting it from the air to forestall bandit attacks. That's what investing in the middle of insecurity does. I can only imagine how much losses each train journey incurs Prosper is like 80% right except for the bandit part, and itsrm is also right, the former FCT minister didnt do most of the access road that connect the train lines. The train line stopped operations during Covid, then vandals began to vandalize the railine and the FCT minister just abandoned it. Wike did repairs all the part the vandals destroyed and constructed the access road that will open up the line to more traffic. |

Itsrm I hope you haven't Checked last night, the coin was at $2.2m MC, checked this morning, it's at $1.9m MC. Not bad for a meme coin. If Davido is serious about the coin, it will hold. He just needs to keep talking about it, give it a little push. Add some little utility to the coin and it will pump hard. Its same thing Elon Musk did with Doge Coin. Davido only mistake so far was trying to rug pull everyone immediately. |

Why should we go from Bin Laden to RDZ or Ikenna? Away from those 2, there are still coaches out there. Didnt we sign LVG while he was coach of Netherland and taking them to the world cup? Our board are just not serious. |
