BlueRayDick: Funny enough I’m quite aware u supported the miliatry action in Ukraine cos I remember vividly well how almost everybody on the Chelsea thread argued during the start of the Russia-Ukraine imbroglio. In fact that’s the reason I was surprised and thought u would support any other means of getting the issue in Niger sorted without any kinda military involvement(either at the ECOWAS regional level or as a neighboring border country ).
Bro, the truth is the most effective way of get getting desired result in Niger is military action. We saw how the west pummeled Russia with loads and loads of sanctions yet it has not deterred them from carrying on with their @special military operation “ in Ukraine. I read Algeria plans to supply Niger electricity after Nigeria cut them off( Tho I don’t know how true it is) , there are already economic actions against Niger yet the coupists are not giving up .
As regards ur post to olowun101 in which u talked about the importance of having the upper hand during negotiations; well I’ve listened to different political analysts and read their thoughts on how poorly we’ve handled the whole negotiation thing with the coupists thus far.
Most political analysts I’ve read/listened to believe ECOWAS and most especially Nigeria goof in the negotiation aspect. We started with what should’ve been the last option on the table . We gave an ultimatum for the junta to vacate seat of government , we cut-off their electricity which we supply them by virtue of a bilateral agreement , blocked their access to our ports and made it practically impossible for them to access the outside world from our end. That in itself is already a declaration of war before any negotiation took place.
That was the probable reason they didn’t treat Sultan of Sokoto and Abdulsalami Abubakar well when they were sent as part of delegation to negotiate cos they felt why negotiate with someone who already has his boots on ur neck ?
Whatever action the government of Nigeria in conjunction with ECOWAS decide to take eventually; I just hope military action is ruled out totally cos the optics shows that Northern Nigerians do not support military to the extent that they staged protests to express this. Also, any military action will leave a huge strain on our finances at this point in time when Nigeria is telling its citizens it can’t afford to fund a whole lot of welfare packages we’ve been enjoying before now. If you check my post here on this Niger issue, I'm not necessarily pro war. I am pro intervention. Which means Nigeria and Ecowas should intervene in Niger and make sure that side is peaceful. I don't really care whether they practice democracy or dictatorship as long as they secure their side of our border. The essence of sanction is to bring whoever you are sanctioning tail in hand and at your mercy during negotiation. Niger is not Russia. So far the sanctions are having effect and they are already proposing a 2yrs transition plan. Its left for Ecowas to set terms and make sure they follow the terms. (I want to believe part of the terms will be they securing their border and allowing a smooth transition of power). Most of the terrorist up north recruits from these countries and use them as hideout and retreat route whenever our military are on the offensive. Look at Mali, with the way their coup leader was talking, you'd think they have a hang of things. Northern Mali is currently in the hand of Rebels. Do you know the ripple effect it will have all round west africa? The same Mali coup leader that lost 1/3 of his country to rebel is talking about supporting another country to fight war. |

BlueRayDick: lol. E don turn fight ? No be fight my brother. If you check the Chelsea thread during the start of the Russia v Ukraine war, you will see that I was one of those that actually supported Russia. No same country won't react and respond to crisis or intended crisis especially in countries that surround them. It is in our interest that countries that border us are at relative peace. |

Olowunl01:
Thousands are being killed in your country annually between ISWAP, Boko Haram, Herdsmen, UGM we are not able to intervene successfully, but people want to send military to intervene in Niger where no one was killed?
Did Niger intervene in the Abacha years? The military option is not an option.
Oga military intervention is expensive, we are constantly being told the country is broke; we need to kill fuel subsidy, education subsidy ati bebelo. So how would we fund this military intervension?
If na concern; we are very concerned, Akpabio can even send them prayers as well - but not concerned enough to kickstart what we don't know how it will end; cos defo it will not be bloodless. Bros BH, ISWAP and the likes are not fighting conventional warfare, its guerilla. Attack and run into hiding. Even at that, our military men has done considerably well fighting those criminals. Infact it's because some of our neighbors are not even securing their borders that we continue to have these terrorist use them as a gateway whenever our military guys are on the offensive. Just imagine what will now happen when there full blown crisis there. It's the same way Buhari intervened and made sure that was no crisis in Chad after the death of Idris. Ecowas has been talking tough and till this moment they have started a war, theres a reason why. It's necessary to have the upper hand during negotiation of any kind to ensure that the junta doesn't get comfortable. I doubt any war is going to happen but Nigeria will surely intervene and make sure they dont compound the problem we are facing and dealing with. |

BlueRayDick: This one na amala turning .
What people on this thread and beyond have been speaking loudly against is the proposed “military intervention “. Almost everyone against military intervention have always advised that ECOWAS or any other body can intervene (if they must) but not militarily.
Military intervention is what Russia said they are doing in Ukraine and it has led to loss of thousands of lives and properties . The moment one country or coalition invades another country , nobody knows where it’s going to end.
If u look well around this thread , u will still see people clamoring for military action for reasons best known to them even when all fingers point to the fact that we cannot afford another war considering the ones we are already fighting internally .
My initial post on this subject shortly after the coup was that Nigeria May intervene in the Niger issue, but not militarily. Its better you speak for yourself and not for others and my post was not directed at you, you are the one that jumped at my post. When the issue of Niger coup started on this thread, alot of people said what's Tinubu problem with whats happening in Niger that whatever is happening there does not concern him. My post was directed at them and not you but if the shoes fit, wear it bro. |

BlueRayDick: The irony of this ur post and the previous one is funny as hell. Russia calls what is happening in Ukraine as special military intervention, but the rest of the world calls it war. Yet u say military intervention is not war. Intervention doesn't necessarily has to mean war. There has several ways in which Ecowas can intervene in whats happening in Niger without it getting to war. I do not subscribe to those that say we should leave Niger alone and let them do whatever they want. No reasonable President will just sit idly down and allow chaos to go unchecked on their border. |

I always shake my head when I see people hyping him all up when he wins cos I know it’s just a pool of funds. The few times he wins, he gets all the money every other person has staked on his previous games which he also lost .

afrodoc2: Okay this sounds more plausible. Several quiet losses and a few loud wins. Very few people make significant profit from gambling in the long run. Gambling is a potential disease, and nobody knows who has the addiction gene for it, so the best thing is to never start. It destroys destinies and wrecks families. This is important. No amount of responsible gambling awareness can defeat gambling addiction. My roommate in school used his school fees to play virtual (bet9ja virtual) and lost everything. If not for his aunt who came through got him, he wont graduate with us. The day he paid his school fees after graduation was the day he stopped playing bet in total. |

BlueRayDick: He's actually not running scam, he just chose a specialization and took the gambling highway.
He mostly forcasts Basketball games which is his forte and only bets on other people's football and tennis games occasionally.
He is also wise enough to bet on few games instead of amassing so many games with hope of winning millions with few thousands.
People like that are professional gamblers, they lose alot and win alot. People only focus on their wins while neglecting their losses. There are times the guy bets 50k to win N40m for straight two weeks and he will be on a losing streak. Then he can win N50m the third week with just 36k stake.
I used to know one man like that, a man who is maried and his first born was already in the university that time. He is a professional gambler who plays pool, Baba ijebu and bet9ja. I heard the man usually has at least one tokunbo car in his garage he is yet to drive. So if he starts going on a losing streak and almost going broke; he will sell that tokunbo car and he's so sure before he finishes spending the money on staking he would've won back enough money to buy the car and even get back on his feet on the street.
I only pity those who do not have his deep pockets and want to emulate him. Its those people u will see lamenting say sportybet don collect their house rent Ekiti dey stake 100k, 200k, 90k on games and he dey lose consistently like mad. |

I won't be surprised if they are running a PR scam with the betting companies. The guy can go 2 months without winning but one winning dey cover him losses and give plenty profits. People dey win from him games sha but you go just ready to lose also. His win rate is below 15% sef but if e win once, e dey loud. |
