iamoyindamola: Can you be a party chairman yes or no? Why is he having the restraining order It's looking like pbat is only interested in having criminals as his associates Hmmm..birds of a feather Anybody can be a party chairman as long as he belongs to the party. It's not a govt position. The restraining order from what read is till the substantive motion has been read and a judgement on it pronounced. Na normal thing in court process for criminals to look for loopholes in the law to try and get off the hook. |

The only difference is that the day you will be exercising your right to complain, i will be using the "court" line.

No too vex. Basic reasoning go reach everybody You can call for jungle justice if you want to but at least in our current law, for a crime to be punished, the offender has to have his days in court. You can interpret it in whatever you want again bro. 👍 |

iamoyindamola: Gandollar can't be trial Mr Ganduje had obtained an interim order restraining the anti-corruption agency from investigating him, his family and any of his political appointees.
Such person shouldn't be power until his investigation is complete but he is the party chairman, pbat close associates It is the same court that grant the interim order that will vacate it. Again party chairman has no immunity, hes not holding any government position currently. Party chairmanship is not a govt appointed position. It doesn't stop the efcc or icpc from doing their job if they want to do it. Anybody can be Pbat close associate, it doesn't exonerate them of the crimes they commit. |

izzou: I am waiting for the day you will come here to complain about any crime and I'll simply use your line; "They will have their day in court".
If courts were really working, would we be complaining about anything?
Or you think Gabon and Cameroun don't have courts that prosecute public officials?
It is downright hypocrisy to condemn Wike for rigging and election, and then come back again to clap for him for being a minister. At what point should we then hold him accountable?
Like i said, you better don't complain about any crime, my friend. Everybody must have their day in court.
From politicians to fraudsters, murderers to terrorists, all of us will have our day in court. Please where did I clap for Wike for being a minister? I really dont know what you are getting at bro. I can and will complain of any crime and it's my right to ask for criminals to have their days in court because that's the process it takes to punish offenders. Maybe you will be happy if I had suggested jungle justice for them right? If you catch a thief red handed while he was stealing, the thief will still have to have his days in court, tried and if found guilty sentenced to prison. How this concept is very hard for you to understand is what I dont understand. |

iamoyindamola: You and I know gandollar will be a free man now and forever He's even APC chairman APC chairman does not have immunity and the term limit is even 4yrs (In Ganduje case, he will use 3yrs) as there will be a National Congress to elect new principal officers for the party in 2026 before the national primaries. Whether Ganduje will be a free man now or forever, no one knows. The state govt have to indict him first, go to court, the court will try him and if found guilty, he will be jailed. |

Wike openly riggged an election. Instead he was rewarded with a ministerial slot, and the the new slogan is "Agreement is ehhhh...Agreement".
Then una go come here they talk about holding leaders accountable. The hypocrisy.. Na who be the una wey dey clap for Ganduje tho? afrodoc2: Fire and Blood which is the source book for HOTD is not really an official part of ASOIAF. It was written separately as a backstory, and it was written differently. It didn't have the type of dialogues and detailed story telling that is seen in ASOIAF and reads more like a history book summarizing events than a novel.
It is a good show but i think more could have been done in terms of developing the characters and the storyline like was done in the first 4-5 seasons of GOT. Oh I understand now. More like the Maester telling a story. It was written in their perspectives I believe. I hear there will be alot of time jump also in season 2 as they want to cover alot of stories instead of just focusing on the dance. |

iamoyindamola: But the same hotd 2 of targeryan grandchildren doesn't have white hair In the books, Rhaenyera was said to have black hair because her mother was a Baratheon. The Targeryan do marry outside the family to powerful houses. The reason why there were rumors that the grandchildren are bastards because they have black hair is because the supposed husband was a Velaryon and they all have white hair just like the Targaryens as they are from Old Vaylaria. The show runners should've made Rhaenyera hair black. |

afrodoc2: Yeah i have seen it. I had read the book before. The Season 1 was a bit of a disappointment. The cast and writing were both inferior to GOT in my opinion. I wasn't too surprised the writing was sub-par because GRRM did not write the source book the way he wrote ASOIAF. I thought most of what happened in HOTD was in ASOIAF and was written by GRRM? Or you meant to say GRRM wasn't involved in the production of the show? I did find the show enjoyable and interesting tho. Most of the casting were perfect just like GOT. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 10:24am On Aug 31, 2023 |
afrodoc2: The Targaryens like you said were marrying that way to keep the Valyrian bloodline pure. Their focus was on bloodline purity. Nothing concerns the Julio-Claudians with pure bloodline. They married like that for political purposes not genetic purity. Many of them married family members that they didn't have blood connections with but purely to shore up support. I hope you've seen House of Dragon season 1? I'm waiting for season 2 for the dance of dragon to start. Hopefully they don't disappoint. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 8:26am On Aug 31, 2023 |
afrodoc2: In this case it wasn't really about keeping bloodline pure as many of those getting married did not have direct blood relationship (although some did) but more about marrying within a select number of families that could be trusted for political support. Same as the Targayen that marries from their family or from the family of Velaryon before the dance of the dragon. It was after the dance of the dragon where most of their dragon perished that they started marrying other powerful houses in Westeros like Dorne and Vale. |

TrebleChamp: Why would you or anyone blame the board for giving him control over transfer activities? If the board had said no to his demand, he probably won't have accepted the job. Then this same people blaming the board for giving total control, will still to blame the board for letting us miss out on a world class Manager if they didn't accept his terms. Ten Hag made his demands after taking advice from Van Gaal, it was also his decision not to work with Rangnick, the board acceded to his demands because they wanted him as Manager. All this excuses no follow, he is in control of his team. Let him instill discipline, a good playing style and give us trophy this season. I'm blaming the board for not having spine. |

We don't have any young player with his impact save for mallam Garnacho wey him head dey touch I know Cole Palmer is good, I have watched some of his games but just as afrodoc said, what they are buying is potential and hoping he live up to it. He has played 19 games in the premier league (mostly sub) and has just 1 assist. My own issue is how we are selling our own talent and potential for pennies. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by larride(m): 7:22am On Aug 31, 2023 |
ChristoBam: Firstly, the only 'bum' he's bought is Antony. Casemiro and Martinez turned out to be really good additions. Malacia has been decent. But he also obviously needs someone like a Rangnick to work on transfers and recruitment. It doesn't make sense that he's been given the full responsibility.
Secondly, for a team that used to play counter attacking football, it'll take longer before you see a clear style of play. Compared to what you had with Pep and City. Ten Hag would be playing beautiful football rn if the job he took over was Bayern's or Barca's.
I just wish everyone can remember the feeling before ETH took over. And then realize we're in a far better position and then back the manager. Ten Hag is not Ole or Lampard. We've seen what he can do with Ajax. Ole was a counter attacking team, please what's the difference between transitional and counter attacking team? His buys were meant to upgrade us, not to be "decent". Case had a decent season last year but his legs are looking worn out already which means 60m down the drain in just 1yr. Malacia is also not a reliable LB for a team that intends to build a world class team. The less said about Antony the better. Jury out on Mason Mount. The only player he has bought that has shown potentials is Martinez. I don't even want to talk about Weghorst. The club had a plan in keeping Ragnick but ETH wanted him gone when he knew his own deficieny when it comes to player recruitment (That's if he knows). He will shudder the full blame for the nonsense he has bought. The only thing I'll blame the board for is giving him total power over player transfer that he didn't have in his smaller previous job. |

You want to challenge City? 😂😂 Are you fvcking kidding me?
When I was talking about financial backing and all. Y'all almost swallowed me and said he's been backed enough. Enough to do what? I'm surprised you're talking about challenging City.
A team that's the best in Europe. One of the best we've seen in the league's history will probably end up spending close to 200m. But you want to challenge them. How? First by buying the players we need and not wasting money on bums. We also want to see the coach effect on the team just like it's clear what Pep is doing with his team. Most times we even struggle to understand what brand of football we are playing and that's on the manager. |
