afrodoc2: I will never forget one bad boy in my school that was about 2 or 3 years my junior. His grandfather was one of the senior imams in Ibadan and the guy used to come first in IRK every term scoring 90-95%.
Then one term some Christian seniors in his hostel preached to him and he became born again. He switched to CRK and scored like 85% and was the first in the whole class.
He went home and his grandfather beat shege into his life. He turned Muslim again came back and scored about 90% in IRK and was first again.
All the Christian boys in his class were punished for disgracing themselves. The boy is just brilliant than all of them. That's all. |

That 1964 election was rigged. Same thing I said in my reply to Egbon Dayo. Some accounts bitterly lamented how the election was rigged by NPC to favor Akintola NNDP I feel Awolowo and Akintola could've managed the situation better tho seeing as they were best friend before the power tussle started. |

Below was the wiki entry for 1964 elections.
The 1959 Alliance was between NPC and NCNC. Akintola came in and broke the Alliance thus the new Alliance became NPC and NNDP AG lost alot of seat in that election that wasn't even won by NNDP. Needless ego fight. Got your mail, I will watch the video. |

BlueRayDick: I think this is the ideal thing for INEC considering they are named "INDEPENDENT" NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION . If only they are truly independent. It's a no brainer. They should be the one transporting their materials themselves. That's why you will begin to hear stories of election materials not getting to some polling units and people have to wait and wait. In some instance sef na party agents dey contribute money to transport the materials on election day when those Inec contracted no gree show up. |

raumdeuter: Akintola broke away from AG, formed his own party NNDP which won majority seats in the western region parliamentary elections of 1964/65 and went into an alliance with the NPC replacing NCNC from the alliance
That was why he was killed by Nwobosi You are right about Akintola breaking away from AG. There are other accounts that says the 1964/65 election was rigged in the western region in favor of NNDP by the NPC. |

Raumdeuter my oga gisted us about your ancestor, He said akintola was greedy and stupid that was why he was easily killed His fight with awolowo was because of the igbo( now i see where the tribalism is coming from) Your MD don dey twist history for head. Akintola and Awolowo beef is all about control of the Western Region. Awolowo left his post as Premier of the western region to contest for Prime Minister, he lost while Akintola became premier of the western region. Awolowo became leader of the opposition in the parliament while also remaining the leader of the Action Group and Akintola the deputy. This is where the problem started from. Akintola as Premier wanted AG to join the coalition government as he believe the Yorubas are losing the influence because of the refusal to join the coalition govt even after NCNC (Igbo dominated) joined. Akintola wanted an alliance with the Northerners while Awolowo doesn't. Akintola was also against the democratic socialism that Awolowo is known for preferring the conservative approach. Akintola sha started removing all Awolowo loyalist from govt and replacing them with his own loyalist and that's what led to operation wettie. |

BlueRayDick: I think the reason why most people are against MC Oluomo transporting sensitive materials for this election is because he's a person of interest in this election.
The link below is MC Oluomo joining 5 million march for Tinubu. I don't think it's morally right to still allow him go ahead with the logistics considering he's not minced words to state that he will deliver in this election for Tinubu. I have no problem with him and his union being in charge of logistics beyond that
https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/558729-mc-oluomo-others-lead-apc-five-million-persons-rally-for-tinubu-sanwo-olu-in-lagos.html All the transport leaders in all the states of the federation supports a particular candidate or party. It doesn't stop INEC from using them to transport electoral materials since those materials will be accompanied by Inec officials and police in some instances sef. I know the uproar about MC Olumo because it is Lagos, if the reason is because Mc Olumo is pro Tinubu, every other transport leaders in all other states shouldn't be contracted either. Anyway I feel the best thing is for INEC to independently transport their sensitive materials without involving any of these transport guys but it will cost alot of money to achieve that. |
