Running the nation is not an academic exercise, It has little to do with academics, And more to do with real life. A senatrs job is to represent his community and table what concerns them to Senate to make laws to fix it.

You don't need a Uni degree for A Senator in Enugu without a degree knows they are facing erosion, A Senator in Zamfara knows they are facing bandits, A Senator in Ekiti knows the need good roads

Those Senators do not write laws themselves. They have Professors who do it for them. Nothing stops a Secondary school holder from hiring SANs to write laws for him to present on the floor for debate
And this is the problem that we keep having, plenty laws that are ineffective because those who are meant to debate the letters of the act have nothing upstairs.

That needs to change sir.

Anyone can be a Senate president, you won't be writing the laws yourself. Its to delegate people to write it.

I just hate the idea that few of us who went to Uni think we are the only ones that matter or our lives matter than those who didnt.
Just like you have your concerns about feeding your family and serve your nation, the farmer in Nasarawa too wants to feed his family and serve his nation
But realistically, those that will even get to serve wont be up to 1% of the population.

Theres nothing wrong in holding them to high standard.

Why should a degree be need for executive positions if he can communicate properly in official language
Degree is not a measure of intelligence
I disagree. Degree is definitely a measure of intelligence especially academically. Someone who attends a higher institution is well exposed academically to someone who only has a high school leaving cert.

For executive, while they will appoint others into positions to assist them in the running of the administration, they themselves must be able to contribute intellectually. Those they will appoint will be appointed based on their "Academics and Experience" competency.

For legislative, the least we can do as a nation is make sure that those who sit and make laws that affect everyone of us is very literate.

Are we not seeing stark illiterates as Bachelors degree holders? If you did NYSC you will wonder how some people graduated. Even on this NL see many people who call themselves graduates write or reason and you will see they have nothing upstairs

Our CLO could not write a speech, even when written for him to read na wahala

In my NYSC days, I was teaching Maths, the other corper teaching Maths too a graduate of Business Admin will come to me to solve JS 2 maths for her and she will just go to the blackboard to copy and paste what I solved for her

it was from her I first saw this miracle

203 divided by 10. She used the 0 behind 10 to cancel the 0 between 2 and 3 to get 23

i.e 203/20 = 23

I think Nigeria has come of age to change some of its laws

We should do better than pegging the minimum requirement for a political post as SSCE.

A degree should be the minimum requirement, and if possible 2:2

Ordinary 70k work wey I do for 2018, dem ask for 2:1
This is true. The minimum should start from a degree for Executive and legislative positions.

I'm disappointed it was not included in the new electoral act that was signed into law.

The kind gaslighting that goes on here ehh! cry cry

As if all of us are not in this same thread where the rabid dogs dayo, rabbit and other radical tribalist attacked blueraydick when he tackled the agberoism in Lagos or the numerous times they've churned out hateful xenophobic talking points.

What of gloriousgbola who also said people need to leave Lagos.

Larride, you are a shameless propagandist.
Seems gaslight is the new word you found in the dictionary.

Of course people need to leave Lagos and they will naturally do so when they find better alternatives in other states. Lagos is overstretched and carrying the burden of the failure of other state govt to develop their states.

Now get lost.

Of course I have read it here. Not sure whether its Joezinho or Illimmitable that made that statement here.

A lot has been said on this place that dont amount to shit and that's why I'm curious why you keep repeating that same line everytime here even when it has nothing to do with the discussion on ground as if some people are somewhere forcing you to stay or leave Lagos.

You said no such thing happened. And you have no proof.

MC didn't say it didn't happen. He said he is not aware, he will investigate, and gave us toll lines to call.

You called something propaganda without any proof. He didn't dismiss it, but told us he was not part of it.

But of course, I'll take your word.
How hard can it be for you to confirm from your own local bus stop? Dont take my word for it neither should you believe MC. Just go to your local bus stop and confirm it yourself.

Again izzou, go back and check up the meaning of propaganda in the dictionary.

I'm telling you boldly that no such thing is happening and if you say it's happening, all you need to do is go your bus stop and verify for yourself. It shouldn't be hard to do.

You really should go check up the meaning of propaganda

Is that line now disturbing your ears?

When people complain, the next line is "Go back to your village if you can't stay in Lagos". I have read that over and over again.

You guys don't condemn what is wrong. The day BlueRay talked about Agbero, you dragged him like a terrorist, as if it does not happen at all.

I will not go back to my village. I will be here watching as both those that accommodated me and are accomodating me pay the 500 and other street tax as we go forward.

I will not go back, Larride, and there's nothing you can do about it
Good, now your true colors is coming out, I'm glad that you are no longer trying to hide under the sarcasm you are trying to hide under.

Since the beginning of this thread till till today that I called you out, you can kindly show me where I told you or anyone else to go back to their village.

The day BlueRay talked about Agbero, we disagreed and dragged on Agbero and nothing else. You have the right to criticize whatever you want to criticize and I have the right to disagree and set the record straight, it's not my business whether it stay well with you not.

The constitution gives everyone the right to stay, live and work in any part of the country and I have never challenged anyone right to that but you on the other hand is the one that keeps telling us how people are telling you to go back to your village everyday.

So anytime you make the statement here, I will rightly remind you to go back to your village.

Once anything concerns Lagos or BAT, you guys just suddenly lose your ability to reason critically.

When Tinubu won APC ticket, that's how they started trending that they are forcing Danfo drivers and Okada riders to buy APC shirt and cap for 5k to fund Tinubu presidency ambition.

That lie has fizzled away and the new one is that they are forcing Keke drivers to buy Tinubu sticker.

Common sense is truly not common

But this is very true.
Yorubas don't support bastards.

Yoruba chieftains are asking;

What is Tinubu's genealogy? What is his birth name?

Who are his parents?
What primary and secondary school did he attend?
Who are his childhood friends or classmates?
How old is amoda OGUNLERE?

This picture below is the only thing known of Amoda's childhood?

People ask where and when was this picture taken?
Was it in the 30s, 40s or the 50s?

AMODA OGUNLERE remains a mystery and yorubas do not support bastards of unknown households.

This thing is essentially expo for everybody, and I'd say, it's as realistic as possible. As predicted, voter apathy up North will be rife (they are not excited by an Atiku candidacy), as it is in the South West (they are not excited by a Tinubu candidacy either). The undecided/refused category of the poll is enough to tilt the election the way of any candidate, it's very significant.

We Peter Obi supporters should not be excited by this poll, because there's still so much work to be done. Most of those undecided/refused, I can bet are Tinubu/Atiku leaning. More work needs be done in the South/South, and North Central states.
