raumdeuter:How did we score in the first place if we don't attack until we go behind? I don't seems to understand you my big egbon. Newcastle that defeated us 1 nil that everyone said we couldn't go out and attack had 39% possession also. Explain that. |
eph12:Unless you want to tell me you were sleeping when you type this, then I guess you have to proof it. Where re the stats that we park the bus or we didn't attack when we play Westbrom, stoke, Newcastle and the likes. I'm waiting. Some fallacy needs to be bare open. |
@Dayo, don't be mischievous abeg. We all know that not all teams play football at the same pace, some team prefer slow build up play especially against teams that park the bus, you have to be patient and just build play slowly until an opening comes and you take it. Check most of our match with the lesser teams and you will see that most tactics they employ is to hit us with counter whenever they have the ball, they quickly run at us whenever they have the ball and since we are not known as a team that does ghen ghen pressing that's why most people think that we are always being conservative against lesser opponent but that's not the case. Even during Fergie days, you see them slow the tempo of the match so has to control the match. That we don't attack until we go behind is a big lie which the hatred for Mou from among some section of our fans has bought it hook, line and sinker. |
Against Swansea when we won 4 nil 59% possession 17 shots 8 shots on target How did we park the bus or play conservative against Swansea. |
Leyqute:Bro, nothing is complicated here, both our managers and players deserve any stick they get though to me Mou will take 60% of the blame while the players get 40% of the blame. There's one thing to have a game plan, it's another thing for the players to execute the game plan. I think we just by default that we park the bus, it's like a reoccurring theme here that needs to be addressed. Yes we do park the bus in some match and that's down to Mou but saying we park the bus against even lower opposition is a fallacy. Our players being lazy did not start today, even under the great Sir Alex, we employ this same tactics of zonal marking, we have never been known as a team that does ghen ghen pressing so it's not like it started with Mou. The fallacy that must be put to bed is that we park the bus against lower opposition. Heck we had 64% possession against Newcastle (the one we lost) so how can we have that high possession if we park the bus. |
No one is trying to exonerate Mou here or defending him but if you can't see past your bias for Mou and analysis a team yoy watch week in week out then I don't think there's any other reason to continue this discourse. There's no where in planet earth you could blame a manager for his players being unable to trap a ball or pass a simple through ball. live football is not pes18 where you have the remote control and control where your players pass too. haba, tone down on this criticism biko. It's !better we know when to appropriate blame to the manager or the players. When you see other team players giving in their best in whatever position they are deployed, once Mou tries that shit, our players begins to sulk and play shit upandown and you start hearing why can't Mou play him here or there or here. Mou is always the problem, the players are perfectly fine. eph12, can you please provide us with stats that proof that we are parking the bus against lesser opponents, I mean show us the stats to show that we park the bus against Newcastle, Swansea and the likes. I'm waiting. |
elrony:We have the laziest players in the squad, you will see them lose the ball and instead of them to try recover the ball, you either see them blame the grass, blame the ref, blame their other team mate or even blame themselves. I can't count how many times I have seen them jogging upandown. Check whenever Lingard is pressing from the front and he see his teammates jogging around, he joins them and just stop the pressing. The truth is that it doesn't start today, our players have always been lazy with the zonal marking system that's always employed. |
eph12:Mou is not known as a high pressing coach, it's not his tactics and it won't start now in my opinion. Mou team over the years have always been known for their blistering counter attack. Most times we focus so much on Mou that we exonerate the players who loves making a simple pass looks like rocket science. If I ask you Mou tactics Now, you yourself will be able to tell me what it is, Mou has always been a conservative manager, sit back relax and hit on the counter, there are times his team will attack and attack from start to finish and there are some times he will set them up to sit back and hit on counter. There's no one way to play soccer, it's a tested and trusted formula for Mou, why will be want to change that? I think sometimes we tend to interpret counter-attack as park the bus tactics. Even the best manager in the league history did not employ a high pressing tactics and he's known for his counter-attacking style. ghen ghen pressing is not the only way to play football. For all of Liverpool Klopp ghen ghen pressing, he still remains trophyless with them, even Pep went trophyless last season. Each manager will use the formula that's going to bring him success. Whether you like the style or not is another thing entirely. |
Leyqute:Those Madrid defenders mad no be small, the kind confidence them dey use play sef, I dey wonder where we see our own jittery defenders from. it's annoying. |
Dayo is very intelligent and can actually be objective whenever he feels like it except when his village people visit him from ogbomosho and he start saying some insane things or doing apple and oranges comparisons. The issue of high pressing is really not Mou style per say and if you look back long enough, you will discover that even during Fergie days we don't really do high pressing which makes most of our players lazy. I think we most time employ zonal marking instead of pressing high up the pitch. Mou and the players obviously have a fair share of the lazy attitude of our players and I believe they can do better. Just look at Pogba and Sanchez yesterday, no matter the tactics of the manager, what both of them serve us in the first half of that game yesterday is unacceptable. For a counter-attack tactics to work, the players must be able to play their part which is play the damn ball and not lazying around like a lizard. |

Oh ye Chelshit, shout and wail unto your god's, maybe he might remember you and save you from the hand of the Arabians. First, take ye out before thee, the fake prophet (skimpledawg) and priest (Diggz) and banned them from entering into the tabernacle of the gods (Man Utd thread) Then bring before the high priest larride 2 oxen, 3 bullock, 3 airmax and 3 alligators as peace and burnt offerings, then shall larride go before you into the tabernacle of his god and intercede on your behalf, lest the Arabian run over you and take your land, devour your daughters and make your elders (Ibime, Nihilist, pamcode, Airmak) to put on sackcloth and be clothed with ashes. Go now and do as he has commanded you. |
airmark:We all know sir skimple to be a fake pastor. |
Skimpledawg:

Skimpledawg:I come in peace sir skimple. Please, I'm begging just don't lose. |
Today is the DAY that the Lord has made, I will be glad and rejoice in HIM. |
Lana1:At the end of the day trophy won will play a part in a way people vote. Just look at Funlord analysis for example, the stand our difference is the trophy each has to show for their expoilts. I will surely give it to Mo Salah though. |
Lana1:Lol.. You only have to choose one. I will give it to Mo Salah though but I think KDB might prolly nick it because of the trophy. |
