Some Nigerians are now aware of opposition party de-marketing such as these cheap unproven libel now and I feel that we should allow the president to work rather than distract him with opposition cheap popularity strategies.

Financial Tips (low income)

The tips below might motivate you or help someone around you in this fuel subsidy removal period.

i. Adopt public transport: subsidy removal makes petrol & maintenance cost of personal cars higher. Though public transport is stressful but public transport might save you some money. For instance, to fill a tank now cost around #35,000 & this might last for between 3 days to one week depending on your car model or car fuel consumption. #35,000 can take you 2-3weeks depending on your workplace (for public transport). These finance difference in public & private transport cost is a lot of money. However, these transport differences can be channelled elsewhere.

ii. If you have spent 8years in your current work place, request for higher pay. Please, only request if your service is indispensable & you are valued by your boss. Some boss might adopt sack as a strategy to cut cost if you don't ask diplomatically.

iii. Buy foodstuff for your kids from wholesale store: children don't understand recession or negative effect of subsidy & their cry can expose your financial challenges. However, buying from wholesale store save you some money compared to other shops/store.

iv. Find alternative weekend jobs: professional accountants can take teaching of ICAN/ACCA students as an alternative source of income. However, negotiate for a substantial wage to avoid spending your savings on transport.

v. Avoid debts or loans: using loans as a means of living is very bad. After consumption, your eye go clear. In addition, interest on loans makes life more difficult and add extra pressure on your finance.

vi. Avoid these online loan sharks like Lapo, Fairmoney: their interest & repayment periods would suffocate you financially and emotionally. Also, their loans kills business. However, even if you need loans for business expansion, is advisable you lend from banks with lower interest/flexible payment plan.

vii. Do business: find a business to do. Business is the only way to create wealth for your children. Salary is for daily living. #1million monthly salary does not guarantee you wealth. A business of #500,000 6 years ago is now worth around #3million to start today. This is due to inflation or time value of money. So think about the multiplier effects of business & start one today. And if you are in business already, sustain it.

viii. Reduce outside pressure on your finance. Everyone have peculiar outflows. E.g some people, na anything in skirt. Some people, na joint. Some people, na travels. Some people, na home waste. Pray about it, work on it to assist your children.

ix. if you have spent 9years or 10years in your current establishment (I.e place of work) & you find life hard or unpleasant. What do I mean? (E.g) No car, weekly borrowing to feed, or depending on family to feed among others. Please, find another job because time wait for no one.

x. Develop yourself: posterity will ask you what you did with your time as a young man/woman. However, remember that having necessary skills/ additional certificates prepares you for opportunities. Who knows? Luck may find you someday. I have seen people who got big opportunities because they had the necessary skills/required certificates. Try to be the next.

xi. Be diligent in your work: diligence keep poverty away from you. Whatever your job is, do it well. Your diligence will speak for you & work for you soon. Also, learn from the masters on the job & train yourself to become an authority/expert.

Walahi, you are on point. The question is also that why are the 'Obidients' only probing States Jagaban won? Why are they not talking about Kano where they lost? If you have been to Kano, you will know that there are Christians & many tribes living or working in the State. Isn't it corruption to misinterprete law in other to favour a person?
This is simple English o & is unfortunate that such misinterpretation of simple English is causing complexities for some Nigerian lawyers.
No wonder countries like UK insist that we must pass English test like IELTS despite speaking English.

“Simply put, the 36 States and the FCT go together. It is disingenuous to argue otherwise". The constitution is very straightforward but some mischievous people are trying to be clever by half. Suddenly they forgot that the conjunction 'and' also means including e.g The money is for Mr A and B. The conjunction and has included Mr B in the sharing of the money.

It's so unfortunate that the high level of dishonesty in this country is so high that even people who should know the road are part of those who are leading people to the wrong destination. If the constitution has confered such arbitrary power on the FCT to determine the winner, shouldn't that be a cause for worry for any right thinking Nigerian? Because with that, there can never be a free and fair election in the Country. All the politicians need when elections are approaching is to everything possible to dominate the FCT including mobilizing thier supporters to transfer thier polling units to Abuja and cast their votes there since the FCT would have been a battle ground.

I urge all Nigerians to remove thier emotional blindfolds and speak the truth at all time whether or not it aligns with their feelings. Only the truth can set us free as a nation.

'section 133 of the 1999 Constitution states that to be declared winner, the candidate must score at least 25% in “two – thirds of the 36 States of the Federation and the capital Territory'.
This implies that Fct is added to the states a winner of the presidential election should have had at least 25% of 2/3 votes.

I am curious why some lawyers are misinterpreting simple english. Fct is like a state. Isn't it?
Then why should a winner score 25% in only Fct.

There should be an independent body to probe lawyers misterpreting simple English. Very soon, UK or other countries may also question the integrity of Nigerian lawyers just like Nigerian medical professionals in the UK.
