THE ERUPTION OF AN INFATILE MIND. Punch below the belt. My take The present pattern of governance in Ekiti State strongly hinders individual consciousness of Ekiti youths on what democractic dividends should look like. Many perceive such as essentially about frivolities displayed by Fayose. Good for the governor but for the people? |

It would be naive to think the United States didn't cook and nurture this idea. The Saudis are the most cautious in terms of directly antagonizing Salafists and Wahabists to avoid blow backs within its territory. However locating the alliance headquarters in Riyad is an attempt to keep such effort within the intelligence and tactical reach of the United States Govt. Nice play. |
Politics › Re: Pictures From Shiites-Army Clash In Zaria, Many Feared Dead by lastmanstandn(m): 1:11pm On Dec 13, 2015 |
GspotAngela: Last Year, soldiers from the 176 Special Forces Battalion, the special operations element of the Brigade of Guards, killed three of Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky's son. Few weeks ago, Boko Haram insurgents detonated a suicide bomb during their procession, killing several memebers of the Islamic Movement.
Let it be known, that the Shi'a in Nigeria have been victim of government and insurgent repression from the days of the regime of late General Sani Abacha. Today, they have been extra judicially killed again by the NA under a flimsy excuse of an attempted assasination of the COAS
The major violent clash the shi'a were involved in was between them and Izala Moslems in Nigeria few years ago which was precipitated by Shi'a practise of cursing Aisha(RA) and the companions of the Prophet(SWA), a practise that has been condemned by the Supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Sayyid Khomeni, in one of his fatwas. You'd better take off your the radical view covering your reasoning. The movement has from time to time provoked the Nigerian state while hiding behind the facade of promoting peace and condemning Boko Haram. You organize yourself as a militia, dress as one, hoist flags, chant hateful rhetorics against the Nigerian State and its constitution and what to be back patted? |
Politics › Re: Islamic Center Of Zakzaky's Islamic Movement Invaded By Soldiers; Many Dead by lastmanstandn(m): 12:22pm On Dec 13, 2015 |
The state, in a time of distress, cannot and will not bow to embarrassing groups like the Islamic Movement. They did it last year, got away with it, and this year again, they attempted it. They organize themselves as army of Islam, sing songs of intimidation and violence against the state.
If the State rejected the perfervid but harmless secessionism of the East with bullets, then same goes for an organized body of violent extremists. Bullets! |

SeverusSnape: Are you referring to me I'm Yoruba, and I retain my right to respond to perceived threats from any one irrespective of their tribe. No one should have the first-use-no-response-before-ban chance. The anonymity of Nairaland is at stake considering the existence of such reactive rules, which will rather not stop the use of anti-tribal words and would only react when they are used. |

FindOut: Contact your international office via phone or email and ask if they can help provide you with temporary accommodation and also if they can hook you up with a Nigerian there. The first request is more important than the 2nd, from my assessment of your situation.
Also, here's a link mentioning a Nigerian student who has apparently graduated last year.. http://www.uml.edu/News/press-releases/2014/Mediationwinner022014.aspx *Edit: Look up the guy on facebook. He is there..I clicked on the profiles bearing his name and found him on first profile....through his education info. (It's not me that will post someone's (who i don't know) facebook id publicly to another someone I don't know.lol). Add him up, hope he accepts (send a message) and connect with him. I assume you're a honest person. I hope he's helpful. FYI, I got all these by simply googling the name of your school and adding Nigeria in front. And now, I have seen a most recent alumnus who is also a Nigerian on facebook. This is just an example of being smart as long as your intentions are good. NO DULLING Oga.
Get on craigslist.com and start looking for apartments/shared rooms. http://boston.craigslist.org/search/roo?query=lowell . To know the distance to school or your department, use www.maps.google.com . I don't know anyone in Boston unfortunately, but, even without knowing anyone, you can cope. Just ask questions and be smart (again, not in a bad way of course). Be very careful here (don't part with your money easily) and I strongly advise you seek someone's opinion over there before paying for a place.
I read something about your funding situation on the previous page. It can be risky if you come here without a clear cut plan of how you intend paying your tuition and ordinarily, I would strongly advise you against it. However, when you get here, don't be shy...again, ask questions. Talk to your department chair, department secretary, academic advisor, international advisor, fellow grad students e.t.c. on what funding / graduate assistantship opportunities are available for international students in your school )college) and campus wide. Saw a resource here which I hope you have looked through http://www.uml.edu/Grad/assistantships.aspx
Journey mercies.
Lastly, PRAY for God's guidance and favors upon you. He works in mysterious ways. First, without mincing words, you are a blessing to me, I am in Lowell right now and though yet to proceed to registration but i have my temporary accommodation (expensive oooo) but please can I have your direct contact (BBM or Whatsapp) so i can reach you just in case I need an instant advise (like choice of phone and choice of apartment when i find one). I am yet to reach the other guy, sent him an email and a FB message. Thanks bro |

Walspring: 1, You dont need to hold big money just hold less than 1000 usd before you leave here and when you get out your can use your card to buy things at Point of sales (POS)
2, Call your cousin to send it to you via WU or MG (you will pay for sending fee) or MO or you go to florida and collect it in cash, better still he can transfer to your US bank account after you open an account there
3, Yes you will have a chance to open account, contact your school international officer to guide you because some documents will be needed Thank you so much brother, The thing is everything is happening in a rush, i was once denied a Visa Application so my faith was low to the interview, however, i got approved and i am yet to apply for a Card from my Bank, and other logistics are yet to be taken care of. Is there a way I could reach you whenever i run into hassles and need advises from you please...I beg |
