Crystolexy: They will never agree brother.. the Nigeria merchants can never agree to this truth.. it is when they have caused all of us to loose the brotherhood and friendship in the struggle and finally become two sworn enemies on the opposite side in the eventual birth of my Biafra..We don't need any bilateral agreement with you people. There are several other countries, that Nigeria can trade with. Make una do quick, commot! We do not need to make your proposed republic, any client state. In one breath, you people say you want to leave. In another breath, you still want to be tied to the apron strings of Nigeria, by using her passports, getting work and business permits. Whosai?! |
Rizstar:That is not true. Someone has even confirmed that he received his goods from there recently. Since you are not an importer, how would you know? ![]() erico2k2: |
PrecisionFx:Are you sure you are not one of those Niger-Delta militants? Govt should sort...... what? All those collecting the money in the SS, how have their lives improved or how have their communities been developed? Tell us! |
obailala:Na true word you talk. I have even met people from the Niger-Delta who are tired of the rent-seeking mentality of their own people. ![]() |
kingreign:Container homes and offices are quite common in Nigeria. Oil companies in the Niger-Delta use it to provide accommodation for their workers in Sapele, Warri and a few areas in Port-harcourt. If you get to NTA Lagos inside their Victoria Island premises, you would find portacabin offices made from containers. They have been there for over a decade. There is also a posh event hall called Harbour Point on Wilmot Point Road, in Victoria Island, that was built using just containers. It seats over 800 people. The owners rent it out for almost =N=₦2.8 million per day.https://ogavenue.com.ng/uploads/Lagos/Victoria-Island/Harbour-Point-Hall/1.jpg?1502718180021 bigfather:It is not. A lot of oil servicing companies and major oil firms use it to provide accommodation to their workers. Construction companies use it on site, as offices. Ever heard of the word 'portacabin,' in Nigeria? many of them are made from containers. ![]() Mambox:Exactly. You are so right! In fact, a few banks now use 20ft containers for their ATM enclosures. I have even seen a fast food restaurant being built with a container. The fast food chain wanted to expand their no. of outlets, and could not afford to buy several plots of land, in different districts. So they worked out a plan, by building the fast food outlets using containers, to a template designed by their architect, and then transporting these container outlets to various sites, they had leased in the forecourt of different petrol stations. It worked. ![]() |
InvertedHammer:I agree, but the IPOB crew must be cautioned. Those bad eggs among them, are giving them a bad name. ![]() |
Doublecheck:Thank you for exposing your ignorance on this thread, again. You have never written anything sensible in your life. The only thing you are good at, is recycling lies and falsehood. Everyone knows that on NL. It is a pity that the money spent on your education was wasted, because you still think that out of the over 250 other ethnic groups that exist in Nigeria, only the Yorubas are the ones that disagree with your perspective.I have told you before that the 'jazz those Yorubas cooked for you, must be a potent one. That is why you keep shouting 'Afonja, even in your dreams. May they continue to haunt you, as you totally embarrass and humiliate yourself even further. Onye nzuzu. Anuofia! ![]() You just admitted that you are a chameleon, tout, roadside butcher and you have no shame. It is very true. Now that you have notified us about how you are so pained, that you want to commit suicide by "laying in a lab for autopsy, and dying of ratak or a mixture of cement with water," I pray you do so quickly. Take that mixture and kill yourself. You will definitely not be missed. |
shervydman:Ah, na so me sef I see am, o! ![]() |
How many people go to Akure by air? ![]() |
Johnandv:Thank you for telling us that you are simply 'ignorant and foolish.' You have just described yourself very well! And you have also confessed that you are not 'making use of your brain,' which is why decided to 'boast in emptiness'. i had already suspected that was your problem, and now that you have confessed it, it is easy to know where to place you. I have advised you before, go back to school. Your words are not making sense. And your childishness is increasing by the minute. But you know what? Never mind.
|
jeff1993:Port-Harcourt seaports and Onne ports are functional. Go and use it!! May God punish anybody who asks you to have a rethink. ![]() |
Johnandv:Didn't I say it before that you were raised on a diet of insults? Anyone can see here that you are a kid, that has been poorly trained. And that is why you keep reaching into the gutter to use words like, "silly, mess etc." It just shows how empty you are. Let me remind you that you were the first person to use the words empty barrel, on this thread. Is that not an insult? I have said it before, you are ignorant. You are the one that has no clue. And it sticks out a mile, from your choice of language and the way you express yourself. Go back to school.
|
InvertedHammer:And why can your IPOB touts allow people to live, and let live? Tomorrow, let one anuofia come and tell me that IPOB is not an intolerant, violent organisation, and see whether I will not give him a piece of my mind! |
Nwodosis:You are talking about police station. How would he have gotten there, when he was surrounded on all sides by brainwashed IPOB touts, threatening to beat him up??! |
Johnandv:This is a public forum, and anyone can respond to any post he likes, or express his thoughts on any particular issue, within the limits of politeness and decorum. The problem with you and your ilk on this board, is that your brains have been configured to a default setting, to think that anyone who disagrees with you, or does not share your perspective is Yoruba. And each time you and your folks slip into this default mode, they end up looking stuvpid. There are over 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria. So free your mind. And also know that there are so many different people on NL, that may have a better understanding of a subject than you do! So grow up! And everyone can see you are the empty barrel on this thread, because you keep engaging your mouth or spewing out words, without thinking!

PETALS 102.3 FM : Afenifere chieftain, Yinka Odumakin, inaugurated Petals 102.3FM in Ibadan, Oyo State, in 2015. For most of his life, he has been known as a political activist. So setting up a radio station, was not something anyone would have associated with him. However, he has given a pledge that his radio station will be objective and fair, to all Nigerians, irrespective of political affiliation. With Petals 102.3 FM now on board, the number of radio stations in Oyo State is now 15. https://freedomonline.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/odumakin.png https://i0.wp.com/radio.nglifestyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/unnamed-1.png?w=410&ssl=1 https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C4Sg41UXAAAPaj4.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CbFpTjoWIAEqJEK.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CsY0HlHW8AQJsl1.jpg |
So what is the point of this boring & long epistle? Make una pack una load. October 1 is round the corner. No need for too much talk, abeg! As my good friend Graphitti would say, "Make everybody hold im mama brezz!" ![]() |
Johnandv:Why should I call anybody for you, when it is obvious that you are not making any sense? Shuo!
|
ahaz:Oga, importers have been using Port-Harcourt seaport and Onne port to import their cargo. Wey you dey since? erico2k2:Erico2k, abeg help me preach this gospel to your people on NL. Tell them that Port-Harcourt sea port is working, o! |
unseriousstud:Please can you write in simple, proper English using complete words and phrases, so that everyone can understand the point you are trying to make?? |
Johnandv:Oh, thanks for telling us that you are a Yoruba chameleon. If you hadn't let everyone know your true colours, maybe I would have taken you seriously. It is obvious you were raised on a diet of insults. Like I said, the Yoruba people would be in a better position to give you a befitting reply. I come from a different part of Nigeria, even though I have lived and worked in several parts of the Southwestern region, and I have never heard an Ijebu man say that he is not Yoruba. Obviously, it is something you fabricated from the inner recesses of your mind... ![]() You are obviously used to deception, which is why you think everyone is like you. Ask your father to teach you how to be truthful. ![]()

A few years back, the federal govt decided to encourage the growth of community radio stations, in a bid to bring information and entertainment closer to the people. This led to the multiplication of Frequency Modulation (FM) radio stations, across the length and breadth of the country. In the South-West, there has been an increase in the number of existing stations. LAGELU 96.7 FM and SPLASH 105.5 FM: Both stations are based in Ibadan, and jointly owned by Chief Adebayo Muritala Akande, the Maye of Ibadan, who is the Chairman of West Midlands Communications Limited, incorporated in 1990. Splash 105.5 FM Ibadan was rebranded the "Integrity Station," or "Radio Omoluabi" in Yoruba, on 25 August 2008 by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission. Lagelu 96.3 FM is touted as the first indigenous private radio station in Ibadan, Oyo State. It broadcasts its' programmes in Pidgin and Yoruba language. https://i2.wp.com/nigeriaa2z.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/splash.jpg https://splashfm1055.com/Areas/WebAdmin/Resources/ModuleImages/1362017105315.jpg https://www.lagelufm.com/images/logo-t.png https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ZaZnHS15btY/0.jpg FRESH 105.9 FM: Popular gospel musician Yinka Ayefele, (MON) has set up Fresh FM radio, in the city of Ibadan. Yinka Ayefele is a talented chap who owns a flourishing business concern. He owns an hotel in Ibadan called Downtown Hotel, in addition to his radio station called Fresh FM. He also owns a music production company that produces jingles, voice overs and adverts. Ayefele is also one of the few musicians with a full fledged band. All these, produce multiple streams of income for him, which keep him busy and quite successful. https://i2.wp.com/thenet.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Yinka.jpg?w=400 https://scontent-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/13775397_10154376016183276_1982329129436032093_n.jpg?oh=834825786a483c4172aee0527d3ab092&oe=59F1793D |
johnnyvid:Isn't Yinka Akinfele a musician? It has been agreed that we would not profile entertainers, o! A separate thread will be created for them. Engr. Ponnle of MicCom Cables has already been featured on this thread. Pls check page 52. |
Chief Emmanuel Olatunji Adesoye, OON the Asiwaju of Offa, is the Chairman of Adesoye Group Holdings. It is a conglomerate of various companies, engaged in businesses ranging from oil and gas, to travel, consultancy, steelworks, education, plastics, furniture, engineering construction and insurance. https://adesoyecollege.org/images/prp2.jpg His most popular subsidiary is Okin Biscuits, located in Ijagbo area of Offa, in Kwara State. Okin Biscuits unlike Tate and Lyle, Nigerian Sugar Company and other companies that went into early extinction, thrived and surprisingly survived the unfriendly economic policies, during the long period of military rule in the country. Today, the company is being offered for sale at a total cost of $20 million USD. It stopped production in 2007. https://i0.wp.com/www.opinions.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Okin-biscuits_20170731151252464.jpg?fit=240%2C240 Chief Adesoye also set up the Adesoye College in Offa, Kwara State - a co-educational, private, boarding school with high standards of education, in 1987. Adesoye College has earned a reputation, as one of the most prestigious schools in Nigeria. Parents who have had their children trained at the college include former presidents, serving governors, ministers and others in similar positions of authority. https://i2.wp.com/media.premiumtimesng.com/wp-content/files/2014/11/Adesoye-College.jpg?w=500 But another of his subsidiaries called Supasteel is doing quite well in the engineering sector. Supasteel Limited is a wholly indigenous engineering, procurement and construction company, specializing in steel fabrication, mechanical and piping installations, as well as the repair and maintenance of static and rotary equipment, for process plants. https://supasteel.com.ng/images/abt.png Their technical partners include Messrs BIS Dinafit SRL of Romania, Monticor Industries SA, and MB Engineering Services of Scotland. One of the outcomes of this successful partnership, resulted in the restoration of the damaged reactor, re-generator, orifice chamber and flue gas re-boiler of the Fluid Catalytic Cracker (FCC) unit, of the Port Harcourt Refinery which was damaged in an explosion at line up for service, a few years back. https://supasteel.com.ng/portfolio/5.png https://supasteel.com.ng/portfolio/5.png https://supasteel.com.ng/portfolio/4.png |

In 1994, Adewale Tinubu decided to venture into the oil and gas business, leading to his co-founding of Ocean and Oil Limited with Omamofe Boyo and Onajite Okoloko. The trio bought their first vessel, MT Carolina, in the mid-90s, to supply diesel to off-shore companies from the Port-Harcourt Refinery, and within the space of seven years, the fleet had grown to seven ships. In 2000, when the government wanted to sell its controlling stake in the defunct Unipetrol Plc, a downstream oil marketing company, they bidded for it, and won. In December 2001, they made a purchase of Italian Agip Petrol’s 60 percent stake in Agip Nigeria Plc, for $74 million. Wale and his team later branded the company Oando Plc. Tinubu's significant contribution made Oando, the first African company to be enlisted on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, with a market capitalization of more than 3 billion South African ran,d in 2005. That same year, Oando Energy Services was incorporated.Oando is now the number one distributor of petroleum products across Nigeria, and the second largest downstream fuels company in the country. Through its subsidiary Oando Gas and Power, the group built the first 12.5MW IPP Power plant for Lagos State Government, in 2010. By 2011, Tinubu concluded a $3billion USD gas facility contract, with the Federal Government. In 2013, he led the listing of the company’s upstream subsidiary, Oando Energy Resources on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX).

erico2k2:Nobody is saying that oil firms should not do CSR. but provision of infrastructure such as roads, is a government affair! |
erico2k2:Are you serious? |
ogahug:Instead of you to ask your state govts to account for the 13% derivation fund which they have pocketed, you want to compel oil firms that pay all manner of taxes to federal govt to now start building roads, in the communities. If oil majors start building roads, then what is the work of govt? For your info., oil majors do not build roads in communities where they operate, in different parts of the world. It is only in Nigeria, that people demand for such things, from oil majors, instead of holding their leaders accountable. |
